      It is a lot of work. Our pump on the well stopped working, so I've been having to water by hand. I have somebody coming out to fix it in a week or so. I think a little hard work is good for me though. It's been fun to finally get out there and do a few things. It's about 29.5 C. here today, and windy. Hotter tomorrow, but we still have some cold nights to deal with before we can plant tomatoes and peppers. Have a great weekend!

    Good Morning Jim - I've had my eye on those green stalk planters but have not figured out where to put one yet. I'm also looking at Garden Soxx kits for areas where nothing will grow or soil is contaminated by round up or other contaminates. You sure have a lot a tomato varieties and I'm very interested in your dwarf tomatoes. Love the updates on the pepper projects too. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and take care..

      Good morning Sue! I'm hoping we have a better tomato year this year than last. We still have a few cold nights between now and when we can put tomatoes outside for good. Have a great weekend!

  • @icouldjustscream

    That's a good variety of tomatoes! Our house is urban and garden small so I can only grow a few of each variety.
    This is my first year trying dwarf tomatoes. Geranium Kiss and Wherokowhai. If I like the dwarf type, I try different ones next year. I've got 3 types of cherry toms started, Champaign Bubbles, Red Centriflor, and Gold Nugget. Regular tomatoes started are Tigerella, Ananase Noir, Berkley Tie-Dye, Jubilee, and Wapsipinicon Peach. I think I'll start a couple Chocolate Stripe today. They are a dark mahogany red with dark olive green stripes. I always start too many seedlings but I give the extras to my co-workers who garden. They're all anticipating this years selection of seedlings!
    Thanks again for sharing your garden!

    • @MidwestGardener
      @MidwestGardener  Місяць тому

      Thanks! Geranium Kiss isn't one of my favorite tomatoes. It is pretty productive though. My favorite dwarf tomatoes are Rosella Purple and Boronia. I think you would really enjoy Rosella Purple. Glad to hear you share seedlings with other folks. My co-workers used to love me during tomato season :)

    I transplanted my mini tomatoes and peppers in a green stalk indoors, thinking it would be simple enough to just disassemble and move outdoors in a few weeks. I'm already regretting it a little lol. Starting at around 5:00 love that pepper cross, its beautiful!

    I'm trying some dwarf tomatoes this year which are new to me, so I'm excited to try them. I've got Boronia, Maralinga, BrandyFred, Purple Reign, and Uluru Ochre started. Some of those were your recommendations. My pepper plants are getting big and can't wait to go out to the garden!

    Great garden share. I really want a green stalk but I don't know where I would put it. I'll wait until my cheaper ones fall apart. It's amazing how well the dollar trees versions hold up. Great looking pepper plants, I love the mostly white one. How long can a pepper plant survive in the 6 cell packs? I did get to plant my potato seeds yesterday. Healing slowly but surely. Boring just sitting around. Thanks for the share of a beautiful start to your gardening season.🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞

      Thanks Shirley! Those dollar tree stackable pots do work pretty well. I have some of those too. I've never tried to see how long pepper plants can survive in a 6 cell pack. If they are getting tall, it might be time to plant, or move them to a bigger pot. Get well soon!
