Bought the Pyreegue Glasgow on your recommendation. Absolutely blown away, jaw on the floor stuff. As someone that has been flightsimming since flight simulator II on the Amiga through Fs5/FS98 and all the others, I really can’t believe where we are now.
Without seeing this video 1st i just bought Glasgow and Edinburgh in the black friday sale. Theyre stunning and im happy theyre both in the top 10. I just went off the user ratings and took a punt on them.

So, when will we see the 2022 version of this superb summary 😉? I know you said in a previous comment somewhere how you're very time-limited these days and I fully appreciate that. At the same time, I so much miss your great payware airports reviews and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Really enjoyed that video and a very good list! Definitely agree with your top pick, actually agree with most! I've not tried Auckland (will get it once WU Australia is released, while NZ is not included I will fly more in that region then), La Coruna and Washington (as I have Dulles, which isn't as good, but it's fine, so not a priority to get another Washington one). I would've included Roman Designs Ottawa, I think that one is really good. I also like Aerosoft's Trondheim. Bromma is great with all the Stockholm POI's but can see why it's missing top 10 given lack of interior, some ground texturing issues etc. Keep up the good work!

I think, realistically, DD's Leipzig is probably one I won't have time to review. I don't think a review of it will generate that much interest as very few people will be looking to upgrade from the (good) handcrafted one and I'm spending most of my free time streaming at the moment..I will say, however, that Digital Design is a great developer. I love their Salzburg and I'm fairly confident that their Leipzig will be better than the world update version. Merry Xmas to you and yours too 🙂
DD Leipzig is miles away better then the handcrafted one. We have custom (and aligned jetways), fantastic modelling, ground textures etc. You can buy it asap

I finally have new top of the line rig built, a high quality HOTAS, a new 32” monitor, rudder pedals, and am currently downloading the sim (120 gigs is crazy). The only thing I’m missing is my TrackIR, with an estimated delivery date of the 27th. 🤬 Nope. Not playing until it arrives, damnit. I’m pretty much good to go but want the fullest experience possible. Only a few weeks away…..
People have been sleeping on pyreegue, they put on some of the best sales as well. Got Edinburgh dirt cheap black Friday as well as two Ukraine airports for like 7 bucks last year
Great list, Filbert. It's worth pointing out something about A Coruna though. I bought it yesterday based on this video, only to find out that apparently since mid-year the jetway at gate 3 has been broken. Not only does it not connect, but it permanently points at the sky at an odd 45 degree angle - due to a change Asobo made to custom models. Something pretty important for a top ten airport if jetliners are the focus! Mind you, the rest of LECO is still stunning, and it is currently 40% off, so I'm not complaining.
This currently happens at a vast number of add-on airports from time to time since SU5 (I think). If you disconnect it and reconnect it, it will generally connect properly. Hopefully Asobo will sort this out in the next sim update, but I have a lengthy list of such hopes!

Also, have you checked out the Scenic Routes Ljubijna airport yet? I haven't got it, but from watching UA-cam reviews it looks like the best I've seen so far and wondered what you thought of it?
Cologne Bonn could potentially have gone in at Number 10. It is of course a great airport and It was a hard decision between it and A Coruna. I decided on the latter in the end because I think it feels just that little bit more real, and I was probably also a little bit swayed by the fact that EDDK won last year. It's definitely a solid 11, but the windows disappear from inside, it doesn't have much life or ground clutter and, while it was groundbreaking for its time, I think it's been surpassed now by these 10. However, BRING ON BRUSSELS! I haven't got Ljubljana yet but have heard good things. Expect a stream to there soon. 😉
I think, Ljubljana is a great airport, the quality is top! I have a very critical view of the price, considering how small this airport of Ljubljana is! You have to pay 24 Euro in simmarket for Ljubljana airport! Big world airports like Brussels, Copenhagen, Cologne, Zürich, Wien or Manchester are just as good and much cheaper in the simulator. I don’t accept the price and therefore i don’t buy the airport. If Scenic Routes would adjust the price, a lot of people would fly to Ljubljana.
I'd love to do an equivalent for freeware, but there's just so much of it out there that I've never seen or heard of that I don't think I could do it justice. Realistically, all I would do is look at the most popular stuff on flightsim.to and make a video about it, and that seems a bit pointless. I can keep up with the major payware releases, but that's about it!
I'd love to do that, but I'm just not in the loop with all of the smaller airfields around the world in the same way as I am with the bigger ones, so I don't think I could do it justice. I will say, however, that I really like Burning Blue Designs' Popham (and in fact ALL of their airports), Pilot Plus' Wycombe and Oxford, ORBX's Elstree and Essendon, NZA's Cambridge and Impulse's Shepperton. They are all awesome. Are they the best in the world though? I have no idea.
Can anyone tell me if framerates are decreased much on an airport with such detailed interior modelling ? I'm happy that I worked out how to get 35 fps on Justsims EDDL and I wouldn't like that on an approach on such a detailed airport I'm ending with 15 fps again (but they have modelled every JimBeam bottle in the duty free) !
I honestly don't notice a performance drop between airports with detailed interiors and those without. Your mileage may vary though depending on your hardware.
This is one reason MSFS sucks, it’s all about visuals and not piloting. It’s a fly around look at the scenery video gave. I’m not flying through the terminal buildings. Haha.
The interior of Edinburgh looks absolutely stunning. It's amazing what they have achieved, a lot of it looks identical to reality

I agree, Ottawa is very good. I don't think it's as good as these ten, but would definitely be in the top 20, along with the others you mention.

Just installed the new update for A Coruna and the patch for MSFS, and that jetway looks and works great now!

This was just airports released in 2021 (he mentioned that FlyTampa's Las Vegas didn't make last year's top 10 as it wasn't released in time).

Vegas should have been 1st. Its massive compared to Edinburgh and maintains a high standards.
It's certainly bigger but it's not as complete and immersive.
Impulse simulations YPAD is still my N'1. So immersive it's not even funny.
