I’m not from an demographic that needs representation but when I see NATURAL diversity and representation and IS NOT forced, I get so happy I almost want to cry. I major in global and international studies- which means I study the happy stufff… and the bad stuff all over the world. Being able to unite the earth with a VIDEOGAME? That’s so sensational. They even have an agent from Morocco and Ghana. Another from Brazil. I’m still waiting for them to drop a Native American agent but I’m afraid they’re going to stop at 20.
As someone with Filipino blood but growing up in the west I am legit tearing up… so proud of Neon and what she represents. As a kid and teenager being Filipino was always something people used against me, never for me, and I remember going through a phase where I hid it from people. I am so happy that today’s youth have a character like Neon that they can look at and say “hey, she’s Filipina and cool. I can be proud of my identity”

This honestly made me so emotional. I’m a Filipina who was born and raised in NYC. NYC is as diverse as it can get, but growing up, Filipino representation in the media was not so common. I remember seeing people on tv and finding out they were even a quarter Filipino made me so proud! Flash forward to today, seeing a strong Filipina character made for such a popular game still gives me the chills! I couldn’t be more proud of and grateful for Vanille for representing us, and grateful for Riot for highlighting us and our culture during the release of this new agent! Would definitely love to see this kind of video for the voice actors of the other agents!
I don't think riot care's much about nationalities, it's more of a way to promote the game in each country. To me it's just a perfect marketing stunt since it would usually in every game make more sense to hire just a few local people that do all the voicelines.

as a native filipino, i really appreciate how some of her voice lines are actually fluent filipino lines and how the VA is an actual native filo. I would have been really disappointed if she was voiced by a filipino-american/canadian who couldnt even speak their mother tongue even if their life depended on it lol, some fil-ams/canadians just really butcher the language like what they did with the netflix show 'trese'.
A majority of the VA's aren't from the same place Riot says the character is from. Take Raze for instance, the VA is from Colombia, but Raze is from Brazil.. I'm very surprised they had a VA that was actually true to their character's intentions.
