I was So sad last year when he did a game w Bob Costas on MLB Channel and said it was his last game. All the iconic voices, knowledge able commentators, are replaced with manywoke jokers. They are such homers, donot call the game, and detract from the broadcast. I feel Melanie Newman is one of the morebelow average commentaors, along with Kevin Brown neither of which come close to the level og their predecessors. I.have just turned down the volume when these 2 come on,.as they are wrong on so many cqlls its sickening. They are on TV they get away w it bc a viewer can see, but they look a fool. On radio, its terrible.DRSCRIBE what's happening. I know ots rushed now w goofy new rule but please quit talking of food, referencing Television programs on premium cable, which most arenot wasting mlney on now a days, and donot follow. Why, we are working, w family, or watching baseball. Don't care about sinful elfs or gansters. Woke wierdos pushing those fuity Baltimore shirts arg. Anyway yes Jim Kat is good. Somehow cbs made baseball presentations very good.
Jim Kaat never gets enough run for how good a broadcaster he was, much like his pitching career. I'm so glad that he finally made it to Cooperstown as a player.
I was glad to see the series end on this Sunday but had the series returned to Minnesota a college friend of mine had tickets to game 6 and was going to take me along to the game
This was a five-year stretch between 1987-91 that either the Twins or the A's combined for five American League Pennants and three World Series titles A's in '89 and the Twins in both '87 and in '91. Two great baseball executive architects Sandy Alderson for the A's and Andy McPhail for the Twins build gtreat teams via the drafting and development in their minor league farm systems.
At the same time, between 1985 and 1993, the Blue Jays won the AL Pennant 5 times. It would have been 6 if the Jays didn't have that collapse at the end of 1987
- Settle down FFS! How 'bout THIS question, WHY can't anyone accept the BLUE JAYS' success graciously? All we hear about the Jays is how they're a bunch of "thugs" & they're "classless" & all that crap. Why can't anyone give US some respect for once?? We always have to take a back seat to everyone ELSE.
- We had to watch OTHER teams have success for 20+ years while the Jays were on the sidelines in October. Now that the Jays have had a bit of that postseason taste, how 'bout shutting UP already....
Twins strikeouts: 8:16 Tapani K’s Alomar 29:05 Tapani K’s Maldonado 41:57 Tapani K’s Wilson 1:00:01 Tapani K’s Maldonado again 1:53:31 West K’s Wilson 2:38:25 Aguilera K’s White
Coming here after the Twins swept the Jays just today if history is any indication this can be reminiscent you never know what could happen this year.... loyal Twins fan
All the problem in this series for the jays was poor management. If candiotti dors not start the 6th inning the jays should have won easyly and jays could have won 3 straight championships.

Thanks for sharing this video. I may be a little biased since I'm a Twins fan, but I could listen to Jim Kaat all day on commentary.
Kitty was great on the mic !!

Loved him as a Yankee announcer too

32 Years Later They Will Face Each Other In The 2023 Al Wild Card Game
I was glad to see the series end on this Sunday but had the series returned to Minnesota a college friend of mine had tickets to game 6 and was going to take me along to the game
That sucks lol
It felt like the Jays would never have "their day" as this series played out. Little did we know the change of fortunes about to occur in '92 and '93.

- Why does everyone HATE Canadians all of a sudden? All you do is tear a strip off of us Canadians...because that makes you feel that you're BETTER?
- We'll "accept someone else's success graciously" when you sit down & STFU & show respect for US....GRACIOUSLY.
Toronto had no answer for Kirby as he slaughter them in ALCS and was a big reason why the Twins were the 1991 world series champs
Get ready for the rematch
Twins strikeouts:

My cousin, David West, was the winning pitcher in this game.
The Jays also faced him in the 93 world series.
@@leafyutube When he played for the Phillies. That was one of the best Series that I've watched.

The Blue Jays' last postseason series loss until the 2015 ALCS.

Final MLB appearance for Mookie Wilson
Against his old Mets teammate…both had vital roles in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series

The umpires for this game (since it's not shown):
HP: Mike Reilly
1B: Jim McKean
2B: Larry Barnett
3B: Mark Johnson
LF: Rocky Roe
RF: Tim Welke
Back when if you tuned in mid game you had to wait until the end of the inning to see what the score was
3:30 Kent HrBek swinging on a 3-0 count with the Chile Davis on deck. Wow, that's just stupid.
- Until 2016, this would be the last time the Blue Jays would be eliminated in a postseason series on their home turf....
In large part, because they didn't play in a postseason series between 1994 and 2014...
1991 was a great year for Minnesota sports although the northstars lost the Stanley cup the twins made up for that with winning the world series
One wonders how things may have been different if Borders remembers how to tag a runner.
Or if Maldonado knew how to throw accurately.

We kicked your asses. Get over it.
Mokie Wilson was the difference of Toronto didn't won anything in 91 next season they got big men back to back
Not quite the complete broadcast as it has been heavily EDITED missing the intro
Jay's gave up lots of runs in games 4 and 5.
Too bad skydone made the walls all sort of goofy now.
Hrbek swinging at a 3-0... pathetic.
Timlin sucked in this series.
