  • NJ Transit's Montclair Boonton Line is one of the more interesting and scenic rail lines on the railroads 300 plus miles system. It offers fantastic vistas and sweeping curves through the hills of northern New Jersey. The town of Boonton has a lot of history that still remains along the the line. Most of it coming from the United Railroad Historical Society which has its headquarters located in Boonton with a lot of vintage railroad equipment. However, the trains themselves on NJT were definitely worth it. From NJDOT 4101 to F40PH-2CAT 4120 it was cool to see some vintage locomotives rolling by some historic ones in the classic town of Boonton, New Jersey.

My primary train route to Hoboken from Denville when I worked for PANYNJ at Exchange Place in Jersey City (also used the HBLRT daily).
