It wasn't over, he could have sacked the transports to get both EI and Borneo, which is the correct play and then destroyer blocked you from taking it back. Typically, the goal of the US in a KJF is to do just that, and then pull back the fleet and land everything he has the next turn into one or two of those territories. "If" the Allies can get the money Islands before the Axis get Moscow then there's a chance for them. By the way you had a round 6 timing on Moscow with a one-two punch. :) I've played him once before and beat him as well. I think his SZ37 strategy is a good one but only if he follows up with a UK push into China, with some indirect help from the Russians, then it works, otherwise it almost always fails. KJF's are very hard to pull off even from season vets, but if you're going to do it then all three allies need to contribute to throw Japan off from the get go. GG!
Yeah, as much as I'm happy with the result, I'm a bit gutted it didn't continue. I felt like the allies were not completely out. One more round the US investment into the pacific would of paid off, and could of possibly snowballed from there. The investment into ACs and fighters seems like the perfect counter to Japans bombers and subs, so he definately had the odds to at least force himself into SZ 37 and/or SZ 47. Like I said, after round 1 the UK didn't really do anything to assist the US with Japan. Eventually, the US could maybe take on Japan solo, but it takes time, which the allies won't have if Germany is knocking on Moscow's door. Thanks man!
@@IFS2023 Of course, I tend to do exactly that. The only influence Russia will have is stacking Bury with a uk fighter, and sending a unit to Szechwan and Sinkang (What I normally do). I have a feeling that might not work in Platinum games though. Complete different caliber. From my experience low to mid level gold players don't know how to defend a KJF, so this works effectively. That's just my opinion though!
I think you might have been underestimating the German firepower you had up against Russia, you had very overwhelming odds for a turn 6 attack. Personally I'd have gone for it on turn 5. You had a better than even chance of just taking Moscow outright, but even if he'd held out you had more on the way and he didn't. I think he was right to tap out. He might have been able to clear out the Japanese navy, but you could have just bunkered up Japan itself and been fine. He didn't have anything going on that could have relieved the pressure on Moscow, and once that fell there's really no way for him to get back into it. His Pacific play was going to be way too slow to have a serious impact before the game was already decided in Europe.
I just calc it, yeah I didn't realise I had decent odds. About 90% chance to conquer on round 5, about 98% on round 6 haha. I'll keep an eye out in the future for sure now!

I only need mainly US and UK to KJF. It does take some fine balance.

You can probably lose the music, quite annoying.
