  • Diamond Edge 320 Review. In this video, I review the Diamond Edge 320. I shoot it at peak weight at each draw length to test the speed of the Diamond Edge 320. I also test how much weight comes off of the Diamond Edge 320 with each complete turn of the limb bolt. I also go over some details for the setup of the Diamond Edge 320.

    Hey Sean I actually just bought the Edge 320 a couple months ago. I watched your video on the SB-1 and was in the market for one but the bow shop convinced me to get the 320. Im currently active duty Marine Corps stationed overseas and needed a bow that was easily adjustable and i could work on and tune myself since we don't have bow shops here. So far my experience with the bow has been awesome. I found it to be very smooth and fairly quiet. I did upgrade the sight and stabilizer though. Great video Sean, keep it up.

    I recently came into a Diamond Edge 320 ,I've always been a Bear man myself but I was impressed by the Edge 320 left off. Shooting I had noticed it had couldn't be covering the fps as stated and glad I found your video to justify that. I had to adjust my draw length out to 29" and noticed as you did on the contact of cable and cam. This will be my back up as well. Good luck on your harvest's this coming season and God bless.#Archerforlife

    Great video! I recently purchased one of these for my wife. I wish diamond would of put better information out there regarding post a/b. For lower poundage i found post b to work better the draw cycle is smoother aswell. My biggest gripe is how low they placed the berger button. For anyone else who purchased this bow and want to tune it keeping there rest at Center shot pse's new ez 220 .160 spacers work perfectly.

      Sean's Outdoor Adventures I will. Hey Sean I value you’re knowledgeable content, and I need your advice on choosing a bow for my cousin. When I tested the Diamond I also tested the Bear species and I liked it a lot. The Bear has a better package of course but I also had good accessories at home. But over all I still am wondering is the Bear over all a better quality or performance bow over the diamond, long term or otherwise? I had a real hard time deciding between the two. But which would you choose? Cuz I’m gunna point my cousin in that direction. Thank you Sean.

      @@voxpopuli905 I think either will do the job just fine. If you find yourself having more confidence in the Bear, then go with it. Confidence is super important in archery. If you are not confident, then you might doubt, and doubt is a massive distraction while shooting. God bless you.

    I really enjoy your videos, very informative and in depth. I just received this bow in the mail today and have noticed the same click you pointed out in the video. After inspection of the the cams, I saw that with the bottom cam only when hitting the back wall the string slightly pops off the smaller part of the cam. I was only able to notice this by looking in a mirror while drawing back. Draw length is set to 28 1/2" but upon measuring a second time I noticed actual draw length seems to be more around 29 1/2, not sure if that is why the string is clicking. Maybe I was leaning my head forward during measurement... Thank you for your hard work!

    Just got this bow and finally got it tuned in. Little Back story about my intro to archery, i bought a edge sb1 for my first bow. The first one had a damaged string (diamond melted it where they tied in the peep). I sent it back for an exchange. Second sb1 had a splintered limb right out the box. Sent that one back and the store upgraded me to the edge 320. I shot the edge sb1 a little before I sent it back so i could compare them. I like the draw cycle better on the 320 and the 85% letoff feels weightless. Its a great bow.

    ik its an old video but reason for click noise is because of the built in cam stops that stop against the string it hits against it alot harder with short draws because like you said it wants to jump into that valley fast unlike the longer draw lengths. late to the party on my end but good vid!

    As far as the quiver, you can adjust the four screws on the mount and slide it a bit, however, too much and it interferes with the sight mount. It would be great if they offered aluminum modules as an upgrade.

    Adjusting Draw Weight: Hey Sean, I looked at your videos extensively while setting up my diamond edge 320. Thanks! But one thing I could not find anywhere on the web was approximately how many pounds each dot on the adjustment mechanism equals. On diamond's website they demonstrate the easy adjust system on the SB1 and the guy states that each complete turn of the adjustment bolt equals approximately 2 lbs. So I adjusted my bow to the max 70 lb and backed off 10 turns to get 50 lbs but it was nowhere near that. As you say 10 turns almost has the string falling off the cams. Using scales and weights I was able to determine that backing off the max weight, I lose about 5 lbs per complete turn. So to set my bow at 50 lb for practicing, I only had to back it off four turns. An equation of 5 lbs per turn of the adjustment bolt seems like a fairly accurate equation down to at least 40 lbs. (BTW, On my bow 50 lb was almost right on the 4th dot from the max setting.)

My SB-1 has been such a good bow to me that I expected maybe a bit too much out of what would be its replacement in the product line for diamond. It might be worth a look to see if you can get an SB-1 on sale now that they are being replaced. That is unless you have some crazy draw length requirements.

I'd like to work on my form, stands, and accuracy for now. Later, I can increase the DW. @@seansoutdoors ya I originally thought it was spine so I got a stiffer spine. Didn't help. The only thing I haven't messed with is advancing the timing on one of the cams or what your saying, tightening one of the limbs. Bringing to think maybe it's just supposed to be like that, far from 90 degree with the string. I put a tape measure on it and it makes sense that it wouldnt. The true middle of the riser is where the shelf is, not the berger hole. I'm think that because of this, knocking point is not at the true center of the string and the limbs/cams are pulling on it unevenly. I measured the string, cam to cam, and the true center would line up with the shelf, not the berger hole. I think that's my issue. I have Edge 320 also. This click is from string guide slider if draw quickly. Draw stops on cams hits cable and momentarily push string system to sounding. Nothing to worry, binary cams works that style. If both cams are in line with string it is absolutely perfect.
      Aha - watch for string were hooked properly on guide, my bow arrived from factory with one loose and tearing on second loop, very unhealthy situation.

      Just got mine. Sold a sanlida and upgraded to this. The sanlida is more forgiving and def easier to shoot but is nowhere near the accuracy of the 320. It is like the difference between a Yugo and a Corvette. More power is more difficult to control but once you learn to drive it properly is is a superior machine in almost every way. Only have it a week but am way more confident in shot placement now. Maybe your bow wasn't tuned correctly? Hope you got it sorted out

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      They are pretty equal in a lot of ways. One difference with the Legit is it has yoke systems where the cables attach to the limbs. This can help with tuning and adjusting cam lean. The Edge 320 does not have that. The cables attach only to the cams. While this can be less tuning needed if everything is working right, it also could require shimming the cams if needed for achieving desired arrow flight, which can be much more difficult than adjusting yokes like on the legit.

    Man I just got the 320 edge from Cabela's in Saginaw Michigan and I'm already going to take it back. The ridiculously loud snap from the sting stops makes this bow unusable for hunting and I also noticed the quiver smacking into the arrow rest and moving it everytime I take it off. So many design flaws. I shouldn't have to anticipate and be worried about how loud that's going to be everytime I draw back especially while hunting. I Kno that would completely throw me off while out in the woods and it's also making me grip the bow way too tight in anticipation. The bow tech at Cabela's just acted like he didn't even want to be there. Didn't even bother letting me get the bow sighted in right. Didn't offer any advice on the bow and acted like it was my fault the bow was making a Loud slapping noise against the string stop when three other people have tried it and it's doing the exact same thing. Didn't offer or even ask if I wanted to try a different bow or get a better sight or rest for the diamond either he just wanted out of there and for his shift to be over. Of course he pry knew it was pointless to sight the bow in if the quiver moves the arrow rest every single time anyway. It's my fault though for even purchasing it. Should have made the guy put it back as soon as I saw he didn't even want to be there. He also sold me some arrows that r way too light for my 60 lb draw weight and 27 inch draw because they're only 340 grains which I found out later. Dude was just as unhelpful as just a regular worker at Dunham's who has no idea of how to even work on a bow. U could just tell his shift was over in an hour and a half and he just wanted to go home. He was even being a jerk to the girl at check out and being extremely short with everyone he came into contact with. I would never let someone leave with a bow like that that's going to be used for only hunting. I wouldn't really care about the noise if I was just shooting targets but I can't eat foam targets. What a terrible experience through and through so I'm taking the bow back and going to an actual archery shop. I'll never make a big purchase from Cabela's in Saginaw Michigan like that again.

      Most states require a draw weight of at least 35 pounds for a compound and 40 pounds for traditional bow. And those lighter poundage bows should use cut on contact broadheads as opposed to expandable for maximum penetration.
