Wow, Atlas did a great job on those Nippon cars. The lighting is fabulous!! Thankfully the head lights are not yellow like on some of their latest locomotive releases They look great on this model!
I've ridden them so many times too! I'm considering eventually decorating an interior like the Christmas cars they do, but that'll be a challenge for later
Nice, O gauge has been doing well from my knowledge. I've only got 1 running O gauge set from my uncle, but lots of pre-war American Flyer that need a but of work. Maybe those will make an appearance in a video someday
My cars seemed to be slapped together a bit hastily. I had a cab car with the body put on backwards, a car with a bent axel tip, and a car where the metal insert in the truck was bent and caused it to derail. This is out of 8 cars. I really don't like the coupler swing assembly, either. The spring has very little tension, so when running even a 4 car train, the couplers pull way out to the side. I'm going to have to figure out a fix for that. Otherwise, they look absolutely beautiful. Of course, the Rapido Budd cars just came in, too.... my wallet suffers.
Oh that's a shame with your quality experience. The coupler assembly definitely helps modelers with the tighter radius, but I agree the spring isn't great. Can't wait for my Rapidos!
@@da-joe-trains yeah, I got their Metrolink cars, and they're amazing! Also their Horizon cars, and a bunch of others. Now I have $1500 worth of Budd cars on the way, lol.
Yep, so far I've got a set of the TRE bilevels, and 3 sets each of the Metra engines and gallery cars coming soon so I've had to plan my spending recently!
@da-joe-trains haha, fortunately, all the larger sets of cars I'll ever need are concluded with the Budd Bilevels, so I won't be making any more massive purchases. I model the CNW, Metra and Amtrak in the 80s and 90s, although I have more modern Metra stuff. But this kinda concludes my absolutely gotta have it models, haha. Although I will need the later BN Budd bi levels with the green BN logo. Rapido released them in n scale but not HO, so they'll probably be doing a second run. I'm also going to need Metra F40PHs when Rapido gets around to them.
I sure hope they do. Very happy they started with the BNSF versions because they're the ones I grew up by, and them doing those additional n scale ones does bode well for another HO release, maybe with some of the other Metra lines too
Good idea, shop around for the best price! I just checked Fusion and they are out of the 3 packs. The single cars should still have decent stock in most shops
Totally agree, that's why I didn't want to preorder and had to see them first. They have decent enough detail for being the 1st modern Nippon-Sharyos released, but at a similar price to the Rapidos it hurt a little missing out on some of the detail
My apologies, may have misspoke. The engineer typically sits on the left side when viewed from the cab end. The interior details on these cab cars however are exactly the same on both sides, really only a seat for detail on each side
Not a bad price, I'll keep it open as an option! Not sure if I just want to pick up a LokSound for door open or close sounds, as those are such a notable feature of these cars
Did a great job on the review. Keep up the good work and great job on the demo and lighting.
Thanks! I may have a special surprise of a DCC/sound equipped car coming my way too so stay tuned!
@ Okay sounds good
Nice set of passenger cars. Atlas has done a nice job on these.
They look great! Still a little bit of detail could be added but I love having a model of something I've seen almost every day

Yes, they got all the lights just right! I can't wait to get them going on DCC too.
These are so cool, I see them every day!

Always a good day when you upload! Keep up the great work and awesome videos!
Will do, thank you! Always happy to make someone's day!
If I was still collecting HO scale I would totally buy those.
Definitely a good model to have. Did you change scales or switch hobbies?
@da-joe-trains I use to collect HO scale. Now I collect o gauge.

I'm getting these pretty soon but likely from another hobby store online.

here is my stupid question - is the cab car POWERED ??
No stupid questions, the cab car and whole set is unpowered. Adding a decoder will just allow for light controls on the cab end and sounds
@@da-joe-trains ty very much for your response
When do the Metra engines come out?
Should be next month delivery, I can't wait!

im still wating for my set to get corrected they sent me 2 duplicate coaches and no cab car they are replacing it but still wating
No way, the cab car is the best part! Hope the return process goes smoothly though
