A little Context to the march: This march is dedicated right after the War of 1848 in the year 1853, to the assassination attempt by the hungarian Nationalist Janos Libenyi in which he knifed the Emperor in his neck with his dagger. The Emperor survived by two reasons: First off all the Emperor's collar was too thick for the assassin to murder him with a simple dagger and Secondly the Emperor was not alone, Count Maximilian O'Donnell an Austro-Irish Aristocrat struck Libenyi with his sabre, Libenyi attempted to escape but was stoped and overwhelmed by the Austian Butcher Joseph Ettenreich. Long story short: Libenyi was arrested and executed for attempted regicide, Count O'Donnell became a Imperial-Count, Ettenreich became Baron von Ettenreich. Fantastic march nonetheless. 🇦🇹🇭🇺
