I’m glad you had that bit at the end. I like the Celtics and absolutely despise the lazy assumption that me admitting my fandom makes me racist. It’s stupid to say out loud but the simple reminder of “don’t be a piece of shit and you won’t get lumped in with them” is just enough to get through the pile-on session that’s been going on since the Heat beat us.

Do you guys ever watch old games though, or even just highlights? You can notice how the rules make defense and scoring different in each era, for better or worse.
My theory on why so many old heads keep saying 90's basketball was the toughest was to justify having one team 3 peat twice
The game changed and I think that’s good. It is a little bit frustrating seeing teams lose games they could’ve won if they stopped trying to shoot threes. I’m in my 30s, I’m lucky enough to have seen the end of that old era, the era after that, and also today’s game. I would rather it keep progressing than stay stagnant, and stale. I will say though sometimes it really does look like I’m watching a soccer game with the intensity of the flops.
@SonSauvage I honestly don't have an issue with flopping personally even when the calls go against my team. It's a bit of an art form and if you can perfect it that is something that can bring value to a team yes it's annoying when a star's last foul is a flop but that's part of the game

It's not just 90s. It's 70s, 80s, 90's and early 2000s. Around some time later in 2000s, flagrant fouls started ruining the game. Then every player started thinking they were Curry and started jacking 3s. You wouldn't like a product you grew up with becoming completely different either.

There’s a channel called “Angry Old Hoops Fan” who constantly trashes the modern era and it’s fans, and basically keeps implying that the game is “Dead”. I was browsing through the comments section for one of his videos, and I could not believe the hateful, hurtful and vicious things people were saying about today’s fans in the comments. I understand to not like it as much as you did in the past, but to go out of your way to openly insult and degrade people for liking today’s product is too far.
I’m not saying that you’re like this at all, but it’s important to not do anything like that.

The fckn problem with NBA twitter is that every single mfer on there is so desperate to be the funny guy that they dont even bother discussing hoops anymore, they're just like yelling the same jokes over each other to try and farm interactions and end up just ignoring the actual games. Also, the level of desperation these mfers reach just makes them too corny to be funny, like basically all of the ones you do see got the check mark and they're also constantly blatantly steal jokes from eachother and other platforms. Also a lot of their jokes just rely on shock that is derived from them saying something completely absurd, but its not shocking to hear anymore after I've heard 4000 different cornballs each say it on 50 different occasions, its just weird.

That's facts on Laker fans. As a T-Wolves fan, they all think Edwards is gonna get tired of Minnesota after just signing an extension. You got Laker fans already saying how he'd look good in Purple and Gold, and how they are in a big market. Not every NBA star grows up dreaming of becoming a Laker great. Maybe they don't want a legacy in a franchise that already has 20 other HOFers.

Just like the NBA itself has changed so have the fans. I don’t remember people being so quick to write off people as bums or just say teams suck when one little thing goes wrong. I mean, I grew up with the hornets, then the bobcats, and now the hornets again. I’m used to some disappointment. But I also can see that a lot of times players can be held back by coaching or an organization. 90s ball really was not that crazy only difference was more post plays and midrange. More players have handles now, and more players try to be shooters

Exactly, these brats who claim their game is better started the argument. In the 90's, you didn't hear how Shaq would kick Wilt's butt. They respected the old generations. Older generations were tougher anyway. Only today would people not recognize that. They would adjust easily to today's training methods. Today's players would have a much harder time trying to adjust to old ball. You had big men swing their elbows and fouling hard on many plays. Today they complain when nobody believed their flopping job. I'll say it. They are soft today. Draymond would not be acting the same way in the 90s.
