- Just a mini video collection of our time traveling throughout the west! I rarely picked up my camera but I looked back on this footage today and figured I’d post a video! We went to the PNW, all throughout California & Nevada! Hoping to take our travels further within the next few months! I'm Jayla Hardimon, and I live the "solo female van life" with my toddler, Kareem. We've been on the road full time and although our road has been met with what feels like a zillion ups and downs, we've finally gotten to the point where living in a van feels like home. Sometimes we're alone in the woods, in the desert, sometimes we are chasing snow or thunderstorms, sometimes we're trying to see all 50 states, and sometimes we're making videos here on UA-cam, TikTok, Instagram about our feelings. But, MOST times we are enjoying life and doing a lot of sightseeing, tourist attractions and fun kiddo activities. All in all we are just two beings trying to discover the meaning behind a happy, healthy life.

I love the van traveling life, but please be careful and put a lifejacket on your baby while in and near water. Enjoy, be safe, be cautious, and trust NO ONE!
I can't imagine doing all of this with a toddler. I'd be on the verge of a breakdown lol

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and research because I really want to do this within the next 3 months or so I wanna to just sale everything and buy a small Ekko camper Rv and take my kids out of school and travel the world ❤ thank you for you inspiring video
This kind of life will definitely center children because seeing the landscape of this Country and World puts everything into perspective. Also, most children aren't learning much at school because it's essentially a daycare for working parents or parents who want time away from their children. Your children can learn everything in two hours that they would have learned in the ten or twelve hours spent going and coming from school. AND, IF you're trying to save money, limit the motel and hotel stays because at $80+/day it can add up to a monthly rent. Have fun on your adventures. ☺️

Definitely stay out of sf city and hit the coast line like Pacifica state beach with a taco bell with fire places, walk up surfer window, flat toddler perfect beach and I have woke up in the parking lot watching pods of whales go by while seagulls ate big crabs. Coastline is way to go, yet also be cognizant that an earth quake out of the norm is very possible right now as eureka area has had 2 larger than normal earth quakes the last 2 weeks.
I am also a perfectionist because I had to be to able to climb up from nothing. My last foster home had the parents divorce and I was homeless at 17 with zero resources.

Hello from England, have you looked into getting a diesel heater? there cheap to run and you don't need to have a window open. they have a thermostat so it's more like having central heating in a house, we love ours and couldn't be without it.

I love everything about full time traveling and I am so encouraged seeing Young people like yourself embracing this lifestyle. I was a single parent of six before I converted our family van into a home. I well understand the challenges of single parenting, but I can only imagine the challenges and judgement you face. I watch a lot of van life UA-camrs and it's always amazingly heartbreaking the difference in comments for black ppl vs white ppl. I was just on the channel of a white single mother of a 2nd grader and there was no questions of where's the father. You doing it for attention. They going to take your child away. Instead there was praise of how brave she was and how lucky her daughter to have such a good mom. Yet in all of @Jayla Hardimon videos someone has to comment with negativity. If her videos are not for you just keep going. Jayla are you brave, doing a great job and I wish I had just some of your courage. Safe travels and continue to have a great time.

Just found you and subscribed! Looking forward to joining you on your adventures! But I noticed when you two were out on your inflatable kayak, YOUR SON DID NOT HAVE ON A LIFE JACKET! THAT IS FRIGHTENING! MY FRIENDS DAUGHTER, AGED 2 YRS OLD, WAS IN CANOE W/ HER MOMMY. SHE HAD NO LIFE JACKET! IT TOOK 3 SECONDS, WHEN MOMMY TURNED HER HEAD (AT OPPOSITE END OF THE CANOE) AND THIS BABY FELL OVER AND MOMMY JUMPED IN, BUT THE WATER WAS SO DEEP! SHE CALLED FOR HELP AND WAS IN A PANIC! BY THE TIME PASSERS BY CAME TO HELP,! THEY FOUND HER DOWN DEEP, BUT IT WAS TOO LATE! SWEET JESUS, IF SHE HAD JUST WORN A LIFE JACKET, THIS COULD NOT HAVE ENDED LIKE IT DID! PUT HIM IN A LIFE JACKET, PLEASE!
Mannn! I really wasn't expecting this video to make me cry the way it did. I just found your channel because one of your shorts popped up on my homepage! The second I saw that you're a solo van-lifer traveling with your kid - I instantly subscribed and started checking out your other stuff.
I've been through so much in my life. Last year I left an abusive relationship, but it took everything in me to do that because we were about to start trying to have a baby. I not only had to mourn our relationship, but motherhood as well. It took me all of last year to heal and learn more about myself and what I want from this life. Then last month, I had a little pregnancy scare. I was nervous because I would have had to find somewhere else to live very quickly, as I currently live with family members that I don't trust to have my child be around 24/7 (not because they're not necessarily unsafe, but moreso because they can be very toxic and their microaggressions traumatized me growing up - and I'll never let that happen to any kid of mine).
It turned out that I'm not pregnant, and I can't lie...I've been depressed about it. I know I don't have everything together right now, but I have faith that things would fall into place accordingly if they needed to. It was shortly after I found I wasn't pregnant, that I started really looking into vanlife. The whole time I've been doing research, I've been questioning myself. "Would this work with a kid, like a really young kid?" At this point, with everything I've been through, I don't know if I ever want to get married. But I know for damn sure that I want to be a parent. I have so much love in my heart, and I only want to give it to kids. I crave unconditional love so badly, and I feel like I'll never really get that with a partner. But I know for a fact that I'll be able to love a child unconditionally, and NEVER question it.
I think it was the part in your video where you were reflecting on slowing down and enjoying your kid while they're still this little, that I started crying. I know that in reality that this lifestyle isn't perfect, but boy is it beautiful. And your kid is making some INCREDIBLE core memories. It literally fills me with so much joy and peace just thinking about that alone.
I think I know what to do now. Thank you. And I hope that you and your kiddo both continue to live beautifully, peacefully and safely. Sending you love and light!

Lived in pickup w/topperr 2Xs for yr each.Pro's& cons living in home but noticed I was lot more active then, parks, stores, libraries, walks etc kept me busy whereas@ home get lazy, eat too much etc.Often I miss those times

That sunset at 7:28 was remarkable! I love it! Those types of sunsets are EVERYTHING! Love days like that. I would love to do van life in a few years but I don’t know.
