    My van has been broken down for about a month and a half now! I ended up stranded on the side of the road for a few hours before a tow truck came to pick us up. However, we made the most of it! We have been stationary for a few months now and we've picked up some exciting hobbies such as karate, horseback riding and guitar! We should be back on the road pretty soon. Thank you so much for watching and asking such amazing questions!

    It puzzles me why people worry about socialization, when many of them are not so great people

    I think it’s great that you’re homeschooling your little one. The school system is set up to indoctrinate children not actually teach them valuable skills and knowledge.

    • @Tavieme
      @Tavieme 6 місяців тому +4

      This is strictly a personal opinion, which may be based on individual beliefs or experiences, rather than universally accepted facts. The view that the school system is more about indoctrination than teaching valuable skills and knowledge is a subjective interpretation. In reality, the effectiveness and goals of education systems can vary widely across different regions and institutions.
      Many argue that formal schooling provides essential skills like literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and social interaction. Others might point out flaws in the system, such as perceived biases in curriculum or teaching methods. Homeschooling is an alternative educational approach that allows for more personalized education but also requires significant commitment and resources from parents or guardians.
      Both homeschooling and traditional schooling have their pros and cons, and what works best can depend greatly on the individual child and their specific needs and circumstances. Critical thinking, is a valuable skill.

      Aint that the truth. My teachers always bully me, when I take steps to stand up for myself, i get sent to the principal's office, and the principal always takes the teacher's side!

      @@Taviemeit’s a verifiable fact.

    • @Tavieme
      @Tavieme Місяць тому

      @@BookMama72 if you take your kids to church you are indoctrinating them.. look it up. Indoctrination is the process of teaching someone to accept a set of beliefs or ideas uncritically, often without encouraging independent thought or questioning. It usually involves imparting specific viewpoints, often in a way that discourages alternative perspectives or critical evaluation. Teachers literally do the opposite.

    Girl we literally are the same lol. I’m thinking of getting an apartment in NY for 6 months and then travel after that. It’s like after you do vanlife you get the sense “I can really do whatever I want” so now we have all of these open-minded ideas rather than just either renting an apartment or buying a home.

    i went from the shelters to camping in a tent to living on communes to living in cheap hotels (really rooming houses) in Alaska to living in my RV with a dog to owning my own land with two dogs in Maine. you look like you live in a roving commune yourself. community is always important. The communes I lived on are still there (Twin Oaks near Charlottesville VA and East Wind in Tecumseh, MO) but you might find it confining in terms of your own creativity. waking up each morning to the combined talents of the entire community was worth it. They were great places for growing children. These communes have existed since the Sixties.

Just have to find a good-sized van and get it fitted for the journey for both of us. ❤ Please stay safe. 🙏 And good luck with the van maintenance, failing drive axle is not fun.

    Let me just give you a little tip mama what state your van is registered in or your driver's license registered in determines the state you're going to have to follow the homeschool regulations for and every state is different. He will typically have to start anywhere between the ages of 5 and 6 to kindergarten. You want to make sure you're not breaking your state's law. I've been homeschooling for 5 years. And some States can be stricter than others. I just want to make sure you know that.

    • @NikkiKNuvo
      @NikkiKNuvo 3 місяці тому

      If all else fails, get a UPS box in GA to establish residency and register him as homeschooled on GA's website. They're one of the most lenient states. The only requirement is that you notify the State via their website that your child is homeschooling. They don't do any assessments or have any curriculum requirements.
