Second Sip Sara is always ahead of the game! Regardless of outcome, Love me some Larceny. A friend and I often split purchases. Hey, he's just down the street and I have "visitation rights" any time. LMAO
Again you two deliver a fun and informative review!! I've REALLY grown tired of many of the other whiskey tube personalities for various reasons but you two continue to be top notch - thanks for helping the community!
In the B batch I was all about Larceny, this time I’m going for the Elijah. It sounds great and that’s perfect because I just finished my last bottle of ECBP.
I've been getting into some Elijah Craig a little more after getting a local store pick. Larceny got me into wheaters. I think I'll get both and have my personal bourbon night😀🥃🥃
Back during the summer I had the money (for once! 😱) and wanted to buy a Larceny Barrel Proof. But I couldn't find nary a one. 3:55 "I can't drink with my nose." I used to snort Coke, but I had to quit - the bubbles were really tearing up my nose. 🤣 6:47 That's an interesting note for a bourbon. Pineapple is for me the distinguishing note of Laphroaig 10, but that's a Scottish whiskey with a 100% sprouted barley mash bill, and fruit is typical of barley. Surely the Elijah Craig mash bill doesn't have an outlandish amount of barley in it...
I always think that Larceny has sweeter and lighter flavor profile than ECBP. Two different kinds of animals. But I also do think that bourbon lovers normally prefer less sweet bourbon as it is already sweet enough lol
Dont mock we the people of the bourbon community for disagreeing with companies that take short cuts in the production of the bourbons we love. We heard everyone saying "Maybe they'll be just as good" ,or "its just a couple of months difference, how bad could it be". Well, in a vacuum they're good, but as good as previous years i think wveryone can agree. Additionally, if we blindly hand over our cash like good little sheep then what will be the next short cut? Maybe no age statements like they did us on the OG Elijah Craig... small batch... remember when that had the big "12" front and center. Then it got smaller... then it was on the back... then it vanished forever. Do you think new ECSB is as good as 12 yr. ECSB? Have some spine, call them out when they shit on the things we love for an extra buck.
@@jeffscalfano3100 This is a great comment for a larger discussion. Would you mind if we use it in a future episode? But real quick, we were talking about those who decide not to try a release based on the specs on the label, not those who after trying it don’t prefer it as well as higher proof / higher aged releases. But as I said, there’s a good discussion here.
@@jeffscalfano3100I totally agree with you on this issue. I always get complaints for mentioning this fact. Some don’t like to accept their beloved distillery is shortchanging them on quality for a buck. Or it could be they ran out of good, well aged barrels, even if only temporarily. Either way something bad has happened to ECBP and ECSB. I think sometimes it’s hard for bourbon drinkers to accept the inconvenient truth, it feels better to ignore what’s happened, or pretend nothing has happened at all. But this goes beyond just Heaven Hill, it’s other distillers too.
Thanx for making that choice harder 😂. Kidding, I'm gonna get them both anyway lol!

Thanks for the comparison video 🥃
Glad to hear there good I'll pick up both, Thanks for the review!!
Picked up the EC on a whim since I’ve been getting more into higher proofs. I wasn’t disappointed but be warned you will get that Kentucky hug!

Yayayyaayyayayaay first thought on your first initials because it was pretty caddy
Thanks for the review 🎉
Nice review! I will be getting both! Cheers

The correct answer is drink both
Nice review! I typically like Larceny over EC. I've passed on both A & B batches this year. I will probably get both C batches though.
Now I want to get both of them!
I think they had an "unrelated to whiskey" fight just before filming. Lol

I’ve got too many of ECBP and Larceny BP so I’m passing on all of them unless they are an absolute banger
Honestly Larceny has been killer end of 22 and all of 23. Compared to EC as C923 was great but wasnt impressed with 24 and most of 23.
You should have blended the 2 together to make a banger 4 grain blend!
Thanks for the review. Out of curiosity how long do you let your pour sit/air time before you taste?

Larceny should have been the name of the old Fitzgerald decanter bottle. Secondary markets made it feel like that crime.
Bring your C game!!!
I wish Larceny would have waited until A125 to intro the new label...but that's just me..
The shade Sara threw at 8:20ish... amazing.. Sugar and shit...
@@johnferron3709 😂
Pre-watch guess: no way especially on a C batch
Larceny BP B523 and A124 were better than ECBP B523 and A124.
Larceny B523 was so good
I can’t decide, so I just picked my nose 😊.
WHISKEY CHEERS 🍻

How does the c batch of 24 compare to ‘23?
Haven't done that side by side just yet.
Larceny BP beats ECBP all day.
