- Art books are one of the best resource available to those of us looking to supplement our art education, aside from UA-cam videos or tutorials. If you’re a self taught artist like I am, - stick around because i am going to be showing you some of the books i wish i had at the start of my art journey. I have collected these books over the span of the last 2 years and they have had a tremendous impact on my creative mindset, improving my art fundamentals and as a source of artistic inspiration on the days i feel blocked.

This is a great list. Another James Gurney book I love for inspiration is Imaginative Realism.

Had gotten Framed ink for christmas as a secret santa gift. have been wanting it for a while and am glad to finally have it. and now i have a few more books to add to my wishlist. 😀
All of his books are amazing! Especially the ones on perspective.
As I returned to draw in order to make a living, I have a few books related to manga an general drawing. Few books are in physical, while the rest are on PDF or EPUBs. I have to be disciplined, but It's necessary while I'm dealing with some personal issues.

My art teacher gave me the book Drawing on the Right Side of The Brain by Betty Edwards I followed and read every thing did every excercise and no doubt it made me a better artist for sure.
I have never read that book but it sure sounds like something i’d like to have! :)
