love the little rail runner ,, good thinking on that , I like the detail your putting into this sceane and the waterfall even has a pupose , turning the paddle wheel on the mill ,, great set up , back drop is coming along and looking good , almost call you an artist , thanks for the update ,,
+Mike Fifer Thanks Mike, it is getting to be one of may favorite parts of the railroad at the moment, but then I don't have the turn table activated, nor the sand pit set up, or the...
That coal tipple is Cool. Love that back drop. I used to volunteer at a railroad club on the outdoor G scale railroad. Haven't had the time to go back but am hoping to this year. :)
+John Wallace Thank you Joe, I am using some old photos to try and bring some realism to this tipple setting. I need more scrap laying around, but that will come...with time.
+TheRedneckRailRoad Sorry to hear about the power supply issues. I really appreciate the stuff you have sent me over the years, it has made the whole difference between just a plain layout to giving the ability to do some real, detailed scenic work. Thank you so much again, and I have been able to pass some of it on to a couple of others as well, so your giving is still giving.
Better, better, better, it's gettin better all the time. But I'd like it if you sang Create in me a clean heart oh wait let me check your channel maybe ya got it up there. Yeah ya do yeahhhh
I don't see how you have time to do all the things you do,, and very talented as well. you mentioned a tipple,, back in 69 I drove a dump truck hauling clay and they built an new wooden tipple to empty clay in the train cars, and I was the one that got the honor of backing up on it for the first time after it was built,, I guess they thought, we'll have the kid do it in case it falls, we won't get hurt,, but it was fine,,, a few years I drove by there and it is all rotted and falling apart, it hasn't been used for years.
+The Shade Tree Fix-it Man not very interesting I am afraid,, I guess I am bragging but I could about put that truck where ever it needed to be,, but now I would have a hard time even getting in it.
I love the moss and lichens on the rocks near to the waterfall - very realistic indeed! Your trees and shrubbery make it all come alive. Is that an old Foden or AEC 4 axle truck under the coal hopper? - if it is I'm surprised that they exported some to the USA.
+Dan Whiteford I am not sure what brand of truck it is, but I do think it is an old Lesney which would have been imported back in the day. It is more in keeping with the era I want to portray, so a lot of the newer stuff will gradually disappear as I can replace it. Thanks Dan
+FullThrottleKustoms Oh, there are plenty of things I can't do, but I enjoy trying many different things. Some I am better at than others. Thank you for the very kind words my friend.
+Bad Man Scale Customs I lived in coal mining country in Central Western PA for a few years where coal was king at one time, but it was dying out then, though a new strip mine opened a year before we left. Where are you from? Thanks so much for stopping by and if you are one of my newer subscribers, thank you. Blessings, George
I live in Cochrane Alberta, which is about a 20 minute drive from the Rocky Mountains. We are about a 2 or 3 hour drive from the Crowsnest Pass which has a lot of mining towns, an mines in a small area. The most notorious mine was located in the town of Frank, which had a rock slide many years ago that wiped out Most of the town. The history in that area is just fascinating.
Love it George. Looks awesome. That river effect is that obtained all by using a cocking and if so what type and brand I'd like to pick some of that up.
+Deron Shank I use Loctite, Polyseamseal clear. Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/YJ_gfMCwRiQ/v-deo.html Thanks for the kind words. Oh, by the way, I have found that rather than using wax paper, if I use a piece of glass to spread the caulking on it can easily be removed with a single edged razor blade and isn't as hard to separate as from the wax paper. I still need to do some dry brushing of white on the water effects to make it really pop.
+harryfaber Anyone would be correct. Below zero at night again these days and only single digits during the day. BUT! Next week we will be on a warming trend, up into the 30s! Yeeehaaa balmy weather in sight.

+sparky107107 Thanks Dave, you are right I am "almost" an artist, but there is a big span between an artist and me, so almost is a real compliment.

+MissouriOldTimer Many of the old time coal tipples are just derelicts anymore too. You should tell some stories about your experiences there.
+The Shade Tree Fix-it Man not very interesting I am afraid,, I guess I am bragging but I could about put that truck where ever it needed to be,, but now I would have a hard time even getting in it.
+MissouriOldTimer You might be surprised to hear what would be interesting to us. Sharing stories from the "old days" is good stuff.
WOWSERS G! Looks real! Outstanding work my Brother.
+cutworm59 Thank you Steverino!

Wow George, that is looking amazing! Is there anything that you can't do? I'm thinking the answer to that is "no". Take Care!!
+FullThrottleKustoms Oh, there are plenty of things I can't do, but I enjoy trying many different things. Some I am better at than others. Thank you for the very kind words my friend.
Really cool stuff George, I live not too far from an area rich in coal mining, the history is fascinating.

Anyone would think it is too cold for gardening!
+harryfaber Anyone would be correct. Below zero at night again these days and only single digits during the day. BUT! Next week we will be on a warming trend, up into the 30s! Yeeehaaa balmy weather in sight.
That isn't too bad in Centigrade. Dang, you work in Fahrenheit!
