Cody was the one that always rescued or helped them with their situation. Cody is actually the smartest of all the kids, surpassing even Dana! In one episode both he and Dana took a series of academic and intellectual tests, and after multiple attempts to verify, Cody consistently scores higher than Dana. Also I believe during one episode it was implied that Cody ACTS the way he does due to underlying trauma and sense of abandonment. On more than one occasion, he drops the goofy personal and became serious... when JT does something morally wrong (Cody would address him by his full first name "John-Thomas"), and when rescuing Dana from a would-be molester.

The realist thing I heard on this show is when Frank told Cody's dad was, "Ask yourself, why he rather live in my driveway instead of your house." Cody's dad was trying to make him be a Senior Vice President of his company and Cody just wanted to chill and be a demolition man for Frank's company. Crazy thing is Cody was smarter than Dana.

Cody was such a Mary Sue character. He was enjoyable up to a point but after 3-4 seasons, he got old. The show went downhill after he left, but it damn sure wasn’t BECAUSE he left. That blame can be laid at the feet of the writers who decided Dana and JT should become friends and the main focus of the show, and also whoever cast and wrote Lilly.

Cody and Dana were like Steve and Laura. Even though Mark’s character was more like a white Urkel. LOL. Both shows are timeless classics.

Cody came in like Urkel did one day, and became the star of the show. It's unfortunate that they had to let him go due to allegations. Imagine what Family Matters would have been like without Urkel. This clip gives context about how Cody always chased after Dana, and how they developed a close relationship.

No allegations. The network didn't want a full blown domestic abuse scandal hanging over their head. Sasha's wife actually abused him & neighbors called the cops on them (must've been very noisy & violent sounding). Sasha took the rap so she wouldn't go to prison & thus ending his run as Codeman for several seasons as well as the momentum of the show. Hope she still feels guilty for what transpired. What a standup guy he was for forgiving her & saving her azz instead of looking out for numero uno like most Hollywood celebrities do.

I didn't watch the show often, but I loved the opening song and opening. ABC did the right thing by firing Sasha after his 2nd charge of domestic abuse where this show had alot of young viewers. I hope Sasha is doing well?

When karen or as cody would subsequently call her care-bear, enters the kitchen to find out about cody.her thighs looked sexy and shapely.though she's allegedly in her thin phase in this inaugural season of the sitcom. anyway she didn't even reached her peak of hotness yet.
