I’d like to contend that the question about the rangers being the latest team to make it past the first round is wrong. I believe it’s the nationals, in 2019 having won the wild card game and NLDS for the first time in their history advancing to the NLCS.
@@samvalenti4105 I knew the expos did but my thinking was that the senators did also. I could be mixing up which version of the senators I’m referencing here
In the two team wild card era 2012 to 2021, there were three levels of playoffs before the World Series if you had to play in the Wild Card game, the WCG, LDS, and LCS before the World Series. This situation gave us the 2014 Giants and 2019 Nationals as champions. The Rangers in 2023 effectively did the same thing, but now the Wild Card round includes more teams and games, plus the weakest division winner has to come out of that round as well, so teams are playing the WC round if they don't have a bye, then LDS and LCS to get to the World Series. So the Rangers and not the Nationals are the most recent.
A moment to remember Youppi! and what once was. I think 25k might happen, and it's amazing seeing so much growth with building your own corner of the internet with sports ASMR.
That Brewers Bonus Question breaks my heart. They’ve had so many good teams as of late but falter once October rolls around. Hoping this season is different. 🤞
Cool fact: Why the Honus Wagner card is so rare is because baseball cards back then used to come in tobacco cans and Honus Wagner didn’t want his cards being produced for tobacco cans, he didn’t want kids smoking or using tobacco
as a die hard baseball fan this video made me very happy. my score of 17 doesn't reflect that but great questions and i can't wait for more baseball content
Great quiz, I scored 31. Glad to do pretty well and see my favorite sport discussed. While our Phillies may have the most losses we’re not gonna add a single one to the column this year.
With baseball season coming up, I can't wait to watch Giants baseball! Its gonna be an interesting season given the roster updates across the league...
Speaking of Ferris Bueller, I had for longest time confused Thomas Ian Nicholas's character of Henry from 'Rookie of the Year' to Matthew Broderick. I hadn't seen Rookie of the Year in years. So it doesn't help that both Ferris and Henry are so similar in character and both being fans of the Cubs.
From what I understand, the name came about because the team had a mix of good veterans and really young players who weren't quite as good. A lot the vets retired or signed elsewhere, so the "kids" were left behind. Thus, "Orphans." The Cubs came is sort of a derivative of that. The group of young players started to play well. They got a stronger sounding name.

I see where you’re coming from, but the Nationals franchise did win a postseason series in 1981 when they were still in Montreal.
@@samvalenti4105 It's an interesting debate too, with the 'first' round only existing that year because of the strike

That is true because the Rangers made the World Series in 2010

Carine's soft-spoken rambles are my favorite
You def need to do a video on the cubs curse

28! Baseball is my favorite, I'm so happy it's back!
A moment to remember Youppi! and what once was. I think 25k might happen, and it's amazing seeing so much growth with building your own corner of the internet with sports ASMR.
Youppi! walked so Gritty could run.
Yeah, I flubbed this with 11 points.
I was subscribed to you back in the day so it's great to see you back and active!

Cool fact: Why the Honus Wagner card is so rare is because baseball cards back then used to come in tobacco cans and Honus Wagner didn’t want his cards being produced for tobacco cans, he didn’t want kids smoking or using tobacco

With baseball season coming up, I can't wait to watch Giants baseball! Its gonna be an interesting season given the roster updates across the league...
And still many trades to come it seems! I'm hoping to visit at least 2 more new (to me) stadiums this year :)
This would be a great channel series…a World Series, if you will.

I've yet to watch Rookie of the Year but I totally get what you mean!
Chicago Orphans is crazy😂
They had the weirdest names
