Best season of all time. So epic. Tyson’s blindside will forever be the biggest omg moment in my book. And Sandra’s huge move is to lie to Russell about Coach which was genius and changed the game. Had she not done it, she would have most likely been a pre merge boot alongside Courtney. It’s also a season that didn’t need a swap to make it better. Just epic.
I can't believe you forgot the part where Sandra burned Russell's hat before the Final Tribal Council. That scene was SO iconic, you should've added that!
My favorite outcome of this season, aside from Sandra winning and Russel losing again, is the redemption arc of Jeri’s story. She won the fans over after being so hated in the beginning.
Just imagine how different the makeup of the Villains tribe would’ve been had Johnny FairPlay (three way power struggle between him, Boston Rob and Russell), Shii-Ann (a Black Widow Brigade 2.0 with her, Parvarti, Sandra and Danielle) or Shane (the amount of chaos that is Shane Powers in general) were on the tribe instead of Randy (who you could tell he really didn’t want to be there in retrospect)
For me, Russel’s performance this season is proof positive on the importance of the social game, not just the idol finding/challenge game. His scorched earth style of play does exceptionally well at getting to the Final Council, but absolutely falls flat when it comes to the jury who, at this point, are all inevitably betrayed and hate the shit out of Russel, who had nobody to blame but himself for this. In addition, however, a thing that goes unsaid in the edit is Parvati completely torpedoed her chances as well post-merge by attaching too closely to Russel and being a huge jerk to the Heroes, meaning she also turned a lot of the jury on her, albeit with some acknowledgements of her better strategic play. Sandra, on the other hand, played Russel like a goddamn fiddle left and right and let the bull break the proverbial china shop while keeping her hands completely clean by saying “I told you so.” to the Heroes she warned that fate was coming to them. On top of that, she allowed Russel to think she wasn’t going to simply annihilate him at the Final Jury and came out with an easy sweep by not being These Two Clowns.
Both Russell and Parvati had one good shot left. One jury vote each was locked up for Sandra (Courtney) and Parvati (Danielle). The Heroes were going to be the swing vote.
Russell is still my fav player because once it gets to the final 3, most of the fun is gone for me anyway. I enjoy the game runners and group strategies in the first 3/4 of the game. I almost never care who wins because it's all popularity and I know that's part of the game but it's not my fav part of it.
For Danielle’s clue I think production didn’t know what to do in that situation. Because Danielle dropped the clue on the floor it was fair game Colby being a dumbass was like Danielle it’s your clue. I would just kept the clue and said sorry you fucked up
I love the pre merge, it’s definitely the best one in the series, but honestly, the pre merge is just kinda fine. The only boots I find fun in the merge are the JT and Danielle boots. I’m also not a big fan of Russel, which brings it down for me as the post merge is basically all about him
Honestly, I was hoping the tribes would've smartened up just a bit and went "huh, russell MIGHT be playing us", call his bluff, and get him out. Ah well.
Yea I was rooting for Parvati she definitely did deserve a win in my opinion but this just shows how important social game is which I think a lot of people overlook they think if they get all the “good guys” out that they’ll win but what they don’t realize with bitter Jurors is that they’ll choose the lesser evil and that’s how Sandra won, I think taking into consideration weather your jury is going to be an emotional one or strategic one is one of the key elements to winning that gets overlooked which Sandra definitely realized towards the end and capitalized on that, letting Parv and Russel do they’re “Villain” thing because she knew they were hated by everyone, which In a game called Heroes vs Villains where fan favs are brought back Parv and Russel really should’ve taken into account all the egos these people had and realized that they were going to be bitter.
Rupert is a clown. He acts holier-that-thou, and sanctimonious, when addressing Russell at Final Counsel... as though he has never lied, or tricked someone in the game to improve his own position. Every winner has lied, and tricked people. Fans that buy into this narrative probably think that Pro Wrestling is real and believe the character arcs Vince McMahon has created.
Sanda is the most undeserving winner ever. In both the seasons she won she won because of spite for the people who dragged her there and not from her gameplay.
Russel Hantz is a true legend. This man is absolutely incredible and took idols like they were names. He played the game mercilessly. He’d be a chaotic neutral for me. I would’ve wanted him to win.
This could have been the crowning moment of all Survivor, if the jury had respected Pavarti’s amazing strategic game and not voting for Sandra out of spite. It was anticlimactic and left a bitter taste for what has been an amazing season. That why I rank season 16 higher.
Parvati played a great game except when she hid the inmunity idol from Russell. Russell was way too much of a looose cannon, if she would have told him beforehand he woudnt have seen how Parv was closer to Danielle than him. As soon as Danielle went home Parvati chances to win really went to the dust
I’ve read sources that said her original spot on the cast was actually Amy O’Hara from Survivor: Guatemala of all people. I agree though. Candace was remembered for being a traitor in Cook Island. She also wasn’t part of the “Aitu 4” therefore she was part of the opposition. I guess they used her as a Hero since she was generally friendly and nice on Cook Islands.
Am I the only one who thinks Sandra is over-rated? Sure she did a few smart things but she is nowhere close to the greatest player of all time in my opinion.
@@radicallovesubliminals9094 She's been on the Show 5 times if you count Australian Survivor. She naturally has a low treat level she was bound to win twice if anyone was. Does not make her the greatest player in my eyes not even close.
Russell played like a god this season. He manipulated the system so hard, that by the end, there barely WAS a system... I say that, but this is Survivor we're talking about. There barely was a system to begin with.
James is roobed in her fist season blindisded with two idols LOL in her second season m.e. but if not her is eliminated worever LOL but in HvsV her injury is the cause of her eliminated beside her is in the majority in her tribe
IIRC Players on China said that James was also a bully then, the editors just hid it. Courtney even called him out saying that he should've been on the villains
in my opinion Sandra rightfully won because everyone hated russell soo much and it sucked to see Parvati be so closely aligned with him i believe if she flipped on him she would have been more deserved
Its very hypocritical everyone was talking down to Russell because he lied and backstabbed to get to the end.... and how exactly did y'all play the game.
@@solomonbelay905 1. Russell Hantz show 2.0 2. For as stacked as this cast allegedly is, 4 maybe 5 of them don't deserve to be there imo. 3. For the same reasons people have issues with all stars and game changers, a lot of MY favorites went out early and the post merge had some of the duller people. 4. Based on what we see on the show, comments made at the reunion, and other post game interviews, 3-4 of the heroes really didn't seem to want to be there, which is a bit jarring. 5. The season doesn't really do any favors for really any player. How many of this cast was the best version of themselves in this season? 6. Some of the challenges are really dumb. It's the _last_ thing any Russell worshiper has the right to complain about.
Rupert's speech to Russel at the end is some cold shit. like a Final speech in a samurai movie from the hero to the villian.
"You're such a dumbass, Rupert." Not smart, Russell, just not smart.
@@AllRequired how was it not smart? he wasn`t getting his vote anyone

I’ve still can’t fathom how Candace was placed on the heroes team, considering her mutinous actions in Cook Islands.
