The stability is crazy
I know right, imagine showing this to someone 60 years ago
@@Scotts480This is why I’ll always trust science, nobody can do this without research, technology and engineering.

That’s actually really impressive. That m8 is beautiful
RS7 far better looking in the same class, that's the only problem
@@sasso09 are you sure you got the right comment? Where tf did i mention an rs7. I prefer the rs7, all I said was that i found the car’s ability to move under braking impressive and that ABS and brake tech has come a long way. Where did i mention it being better than an audi? Im confused?😂
@@DatBoiGloomyI don’t understand people that suck off one brand, this bmw, audi, and benz “war” is so dumb 😂 Just enjoy the cars hahaha
Wow that’s impressive. Bmw really did a great job with the braking
Half of us won’t ever be able to afford that car lol

You should see it in person sheesh 😀 just stands out so well especially in drop top
согласен красивая, но дико неудобная, в такую садиться уже проблема
@Lexdatoka
Your right...I have the convertible.
No ones talking about how skilled the driver is
Because he isn't. This is a beginner training course.
It shows how the car and the stability systems (ABS, TC, SC) respond.
It's literally just stability systems and a bit of turning the wheel.
do you eat turks
Or how brave the cameraman is.

Let's give a huge congrats to that ABS system.
Agreed. It's good
And ESP as well...
I wonder if there is any actual skill here or if this is just stomping on the brakes as hard as the driver can?
@@slvshy666 5% skill 95%car doing the work he most likely locking them up keeping it straight all the rest is the safety equipment
@@tyreseoharris3939 that's pretty badass
That ABS is working flawlessly!
M8 is a really underrated car.
That braking and control was...... majestic. 😎
yea and we got the computer to thank for it. Modern ABS and traction control is great.
With all that money thrown into it, it better be🤣
@@megapet777 WDYM, traction control is ass, thats y people turn it off on track, meanwhile in GT racing they still use it. Traction control is too restrictive. If it restricts less than the car could do more.
@@alt2484 That's not true. Without all the computer assistance what happened on the video wouldn't been possible. If you tried to brake hard and turn at the same time the tires would just lock up and the car would go in straight line despite turning the steering wheel, because the tires would be locked up and it would just slide. With all the assistance you can brake at maximum force and still control the car. So you can basically turn and emergency brake simultaneously because the computer is micromanaging the brakes and suspension thousand times a second.
@@megapet777 I have a car without abs and constantly pumping the brakes is not easy. Abs and TC are such nice creations especially for the people who just want to drive safe
Cameraman has balls of steel. 😅
It was a driving instructor. According to him, that's the correct position in order to be able to provide feedback to the driver
Its stupid at this speed can something go wrong
@@bmwblogRight angle? Sure, i accept that! Darwin do also accept this!
Nahhh at that distance. Unless he’s dumb he should be good lmao
@@georgiang838 Well no. They aren't doing this with a larger vehicle clearly. He has legs and driver is capable of turning a wheel.
So good! You can literally feel the engineering marvel behind this thing. A piece of art for sure. I love it!
That afternoon 10 eggs were fried on each brake disc.
At least, unless you go for the carbon ceramics
Yeah I would bet lunch money this car has the cf rotor
BMW is life . Period .
True
Excatly
That's impresive 🤯
That's German machine ❤
This shows how good moderns cars are. You would be all over the place in a 70's/80's car. I should show this video to the government of my country, since they set up speed limit in 1975 and never touched it.
Well this is a pretty expensive car, upper end sports cars and exotics from the 80s can still do this
@@chrisodell6107 80’s cars cant compete with modern ones i think, they have worse engineering, worse technology, much worse tires. There is like no way
Well I agree that modern cars are way safer, however the speed limits are there because while the cars are trusted, not all drivers are.
@@chrisodell6107 probably, any cheap modern hatchback would be better than any sports car of the 80s in this test
Maybe in an American Car. European, especially German Cars do this since the 80's. 😁
With not so much big of a grill it looks really beautiful.
That's why I personally love some of the M-lite G generation, M340i, M240i, etc look beautiful compared to their M counterparts, the 5 series keeping the small kidneys makes me happy too
The 4 series broke my heart though, F82s will probably never be outdone for me 😔
Kidney over bucktooth any day
I have slowly become a fan of both styles, but i agree kidney is beat@@JonathanLittle001
I love the gesture which turn on the blinkers right after the braking!
has great handling
It does for such a big car
@@bmwblog I know and at the spedds swerve I taut back kick out more but no straightens up rite away
Yes, modern active suspension, traction control, and ABS are amazing at saving even the most rookie drivers.
No it’s got great grip it’s too heavy to have great handling 🙈🙈
@Cayman Joe not at all how handling works but ok. Rolls Royce, a company known for its luxury, while also being fast, and having the best control out of pretty much any vehicle ever. Oh, it's also one of the heaviest vehicles you can get.....
What a beautiful machine
It’s the best BMW
@Forbes it's a great BMW, but certainly not the best
I wanna do this test with the new M2 soon
Beautiful! Just gorgeous performance!!
The best demo i had seen, from the best sport car
The fact that the back end didnt kick out ridiculously on that first jerk manoeuvre is impressive af

Very impressive driver
My drum brakes would still be squealing into the distance

Drum brakes stop just aswell as rotors. However they heat up quickly and cause break fade.

Just Pro Driver 👌

People talk about the car, abs, esp but the driver is the real hero.
It is unreal how good this car is!
And the ground was wet!! The cameramen REALLY trusted the braking system of that machine.
Another example of a bmw not using the blinkers
Where?
That’s impressive
The Drivers are going to believe they are so pro, but the car is doing all the hard work.
What a skilled driver🔥🔥😳
Is not just the car, the driver has to had good skills also...
This demonstrates how the esc and abs works. So is no skill here. Just brake and steer.
@@bmw9146 get your point... But I hope you get my point to (opinion)
@@Its_flakko he actually doesn't. Give any normal driver same time and distance to react & probably that car would be a write off in the end. Definitely how he handled that car needed skills & practice. With that said though, the car has proved that with the correct driver, it can handle & brake safely.
No skills needed, been thru bmw driver training, it's the car and driver daring to stand on the brake pedals and steer
@@JosehishThere really is not much skill needed, of course not everyone is able to do that.
If you’ll sit that driver in an old car without abs what do you think is going to happen? Exactly, he will spin or lock the tyres, because most of the job that is done here is done by abs
Goddamn that was pretty impressive
Yup
What a maneuver ability
BMW braking has always been on point on their M cars

The beauty of ESC (electronic stability control)
Actually that’s mostly ABS
@@timgrewe9644 ..oh yeah😅
@@timgrewe9644ure abs would be only trying not to lock the wheels, sure helps to keep control/steering under heavy braking. ESC uses the same sensors as abs to monitor every wheel independent rotation and help keep your trajectory, wether you're accelerating, cornering, braking, or a combination. ESC can help some vehicles A LOT in the moose test. for instance some SUVs that are all over the place without it, are able to perform correctly with it. here I would say a bmw sports car should have good handling without ESC but ESC would definitely help cornering under heavy breaking by preventing under/oversteering, breaking the inside wheels to help cornering
@@geemy9675Well, he was right that it’s mostly abs because that allows you to steer while braking. Sure, ESC helps, but the biggest part is definitely ABS due to the reason mentioned.
