Super hyped for the Intercessor Squad! Happy to see that they got some nice and interesting abilities and rules! Also congrats on the success! 1.5k subscribers!
Thanks man, it’s super exciting to see the channel grow. Almost as exciting as seeing the Intercessors finally get some much needed love! We’re very much looking forward to putting these guys through their paces !
I’m majorly excited for this team, and I love that it’s comprised of models that we probably all have, rather that niche kits or characters (like with the GSC and Harlequins White Dwarf teams).
This combined with the new starter box set coming out soon will probably be the ideal starting points for a new wave of players to start playing this awesome game.
I was initially very excited, concluding the free release of this kill team and the core rules would mean the white dwarf kill teams would be released in a similar manner. Finding out it is not the full core rules means free WD teams may not be guaranteed. Still very excited to field mixed intercessors. (Edited for clarity)
What seems to be missing? The only thing I noticed were fluff pieces such as the name generators but I might have missed something! Edit: I misread, you’re referring to the core rules. I agree, it would have been nice to have the full rules but they’re largely there and make for a nice cheat sheet. Guess Gee Dubs still want people forking over for the full fat deal !
@@Esteban_Santos Ah of course, sorry I thought he was referring to the intercessor rules, not the core rules. It would be nice to have send some terrain rules included but I do like how well they explain most of it in 3 pages. Gives it a very OPR feel !
Damn... this is so exciting it's crazy! I've never thought that Space Marines would got me excited. Now I'll have to actually assemble some Assault Intercessors 🙄
It's not just having Bolter Discipline baked in - it's a much better version of Bolter Discipline. Before, both attacks had to be from a bolter weapon, whereas here, it still applies if only one attack is made with a bolter. Plus still being able to perform a fight action. That, along with all the grenades and decent equipment feels like a big change. I dunno if this makes them anywhere near top tier, but with the chapter abilities, it certainly makes them more interesting.
I feel like I am mistaken but it seems the Devastator doctrine and Tactical doctrine are the same thing except for the within or more distance difference
Happy to see this. I am a space marine exclusive player and these changes are good as far as I can tell. I like the ability to change up intercessors and assaults and since I don't play in official tournaments, it might be fun to use heavy intercessor models for the gunners.
All in on this! As a marine main in 40k I've been waiting for intercessors since the game released. If I'm honest phobos don't really do it for me. Would have been nice to have that heavy intercessor gunner but oh well. This will very likely be my main team from now on. I'm so excited I might finally edge highlight this team 🤣
It's better for sure but I would have liked a Primarus team where you can have Intercessors, Reivers, and maybe a Hellblaster. Although it does mean I now need to buy some Assault Intercessors!
Bolter Discipline & Shock Assault baked into the stat block is a huge help. The Chapter Tactics are very flavorful, but I’m sure they’ll be “a best choice” in the near future - I’m a big fan of Stealthy & Hardy. I really want to see the way Into the Dark plays to decide how I’m going to build the team. This team may replace GK for my mirror match demo games if I shift to the new terrain.
I hadn’t considered the Into the Dark implications. There seems to be several different decent builds with the team so I’m looking forward to seeing how adaptable they are!
Im so excited, this is exactly how I figured they'd do it, although I figured Heavy's would be mixed in 😭 hope we get a Gravis armor team. I dunno what chapter I'm gonna do this as. If I can mix em it's so good to hobby as Deathwatch.
The lack of heavies is a surprise, but the gunner they did include looks like it can put in some serious work. I traditionally love my medium range gun line teams but I’m sorely tempted by a melee focused, BT crusader squad.
Well I’ve got to be honest I am a little disappointed that space marines have had another release just after Phobos was done when necrons etc who have desperately needed better rules have been left again. Also this release really means I’ll never play blooded again in a competitive game these seem incredibly over powered with 2 shoots / 2 fights for free with 14 wounds on a 3 save I don’t see blooded beating this line up

And terrain, but I guess that’s general knowledge?

This great cause I always tried to use assault intercessors to teach killteam but they always under preformed even to other compendium teams.
Absolutely, they’re still simple enough to be a decent beginner team but way more interesting and competitive now.
Damn... this is so exciting it's crazy!

I didn’t think it was possible to get excited over Intercessors in Kill Team. GW have happily proven me wrong ! I can’t wait to paint up a team.

Definitely, I cannot wait to paint up a team to take them for the spin. Well done GW, ya got me interested in Intercessors !

That’s correct.

It’s finally the space marines time to shine in Kill Team. Very surprising how long they were neglected !
Great breakdown. I am genuinely pumped for this!!!! I love the sound of the Black Templar sword brethren, I have so tasty ideas too
Thanks! That’s what I’m going for, your black templar phobos team might have had something to do with it ! ;)

Hell yeah. A lot of people have been waiting for this, hopefully we’ll see an influx of people into the game !

Stealthy and Hardy make some tanky marines
Is the Intercessor Gunner's auxiliary grenade launcher only on the auto bolt rifle or can it be put on the bolt rifle also?
At work so don’t have the pdf on me but I’m 99.9% sure that the gunner does not have a bolt rifle on his data card so it must be the auto bolt rifle.

Seems pretty overpowered to be able to attack and shoot twice every turn.

Everything I’ve heard suggests that the blooded really need a balance pass to help them out. I’ve not tried them myself yet.
