It is absolutely infuriating to watch. He gets down on the shot, then gets up again, checks out five other shots, gives his cue a wank and a few more re-chalks and then goes back to the shot he first thought of, which was obviously the right one all the time! If he doesn't get professional help to sort this OCD behavior out it will cost him a lot of money.

It wont cost him a lot of money it will help him, i know guys who take 5 seconds on a shot and guys who take 1 minute on a shot, the ones who take their time do better. He is eyeing up the table weighing up his options and making sure he is completely in line so he can cue straight, he will be able to do it quicker with time but right now he is making sure he can pot

There's no rule about it. This isn't slow, this is a huge frame for him, in the season where he needs to do well to stay on the tour. This was a scrappy frame, as often happens when the reds are mostly at the wrong end of the table. For a young player to freeze out someone as experienced as Ryan Day, is impressive. Ryan was very unlucky going in off, but he got a lot of luck earlier in the frame, so that evened out.

Selby does that a lot. I don't think Stan would mind winning as much as he has. As long as he's clear in his mind when he gets down to play the ball, the rest doesn't matter. Imagine playing like that every day jetting around the world just playing a game, earning more in prize money and endorsements then the majority of us while we are working 9-5 in a repetitive job most of us dislike...guess stans a winner after all !!!!!!

I've said for a while that the only two players I would pay
to watch are Trump & O'Sullivan. Now I'm not so sure. You
don't know if O'Sullivan will evem turn up.

Crikey, it's like watching Terry Griffiths! CORRECTION: it's like watching John Virgo impersonate Terry Griffiths but not funny or entertaining.

To all the (presumably) old heads in the comments section here, the lad's 18. Were any of you guys playing this level at 18? I'm gonnae say no, so instead of commenting on how he walks around a table, let's maybe appreciate some things - 1. Snooker attracting younger players 2. The potential of someone having a career as long as Ronnie 3. He has plenty, plenty of time to improve. Back off, sip your pint, and if you don't like his play, don't watch.

You should appreciate constructive criticism. If he was not British nobody would give a toss. The way he plays is off putting and turns people away from watching the game.He is a boring average snooker player with no character.

while I agree with some and disagree with some of what's said below lets remember he isn't 18 and yet the 78th best snooker player in the world..that's what the official world ranking is you can't argue with that.. many comments say he will never win a major what about a small one ? many players NEVER win a major in long snooker career's and don't get slated for it, remember Kirk stevens a very fine snooker player most will agree, how many ranking events did he win ?...............NONE .. tournaments are made up of the best players who qualify and its good for headlines when underdogs have good runs just like in golf ,if your bothered about the pace of play just use the x3 speed function lol

Ronnie won the UK championship 17 years old.
Alex won the World championship 18 years old.
Stan will win no majors its just simply not good enough.

Even if he doesn't he is where he is on talent and that's undeniable...and yet again I will say it that not everyone wins a tournament there is no need to just mention the top players as without the lower ranked players there would be no tournament. .78th in the world at 17 makes his parents very proud I imagine..why do so many people have to constantly pull him down it's not like he is put up on a pedestal ..
