This option is not on samsung notes app (so you can might try out other note taking apps) though it's an a4 size sheet and you can easily add on pages , there is also an infinite scrolling page option
Latest update created a problem. Snap fix while zooming in and out doesn't work anymore. Makes me waste a lot of time getting it to 100%. My OCD doesn't let me rest if the page doesn't fit the screen perfectly.🙃

I was thinking about getting the plus model, but now I'm not so sure I need it to read pdf and watch movies in bed while holding it on my chest, probably won't be able to see the whole frame. Maybe it just looks so big because of your small hands, I'm not sure, as I've seen a youtuber who could hold it on two sides with one hand(!) and it made the s9+ look small lol
I'm writing this from my tab S9+ and being completely honest, the screen is the perfect size for any of the things you want to do. It's not small, but no too big either so, it's perfect. But if you're still afraid, I think the tab s9 can be as good as the S9+. (sorry for the late comment🥹

You can use the highlighter tool in Samsung notes. Import the map, pick a colour and draw over the state to make it stand out.
