In 1923, he was meeting the stars of movies.
In 1991, he WAS the star of a movie .
It's amazing how time just flies by.
Felix was the first cartoon superstar in history, pre-dating Popeye, Betty Boop and Mickey Mouse. Thank you for helping to preserve his memory.
The caricature with the cross-eyes who says "That's how I got this way" was Ben Turpin, a silent movie star who 's eyes were insured with Lloyd's of London for $5,000 if they should ever uncross. I also recognized the Charlie Chaplin caricature, but I did not recognize the rest. Anyone able to help me out?
I love seeing these classics.. thank you kindly for posting them! Please continue ;).
Ah, Otto Mesmer's great creation. Felix is a great character.
Everyone mark your calendars. November 9th, 2019, Felix The Cat turns 1 Century (that is 100 years) old. His debut was in Feline Follies which was released November 9th, 1919.
I just saw it on this day,November 9th.:-)
It has already passed
As a silent film nut I loved seeing this! And at the right speed, too, not that "video accu-speed" crap some companies hype. Thanks for posting this!
Felix is awesome
Thank you so much for posting this!
this is a real animation...
Yes, Otto Messmer is the inventor of Felix the Cat. Sullivan was his boss and so owned the copyright. Messmer never got the credit.
Reminds me of Ub Iwerks(head animator),who first drew Mickey Mouse-and Walt Disney, studio owner.:-)

Felix of course had a 1950s series,too.

The sharp nose of the man at 5:22 would suggest John Barrymore, Sr.
Anyone still here in 2021?....
Well, someone is here.
Pat Sullivan? More like Otto Messmer.
Felix was the toon from which all others sprung.
Hello Bro can you answer me?
🗿🤣
Charlie Chaplin!!!
in order: tallulah bankhead, ben turpin, john barrymore, selznik (?) doug fairbanks sr. william s hart and cecil b. demille
I got Chaplin, but everyone else, they had to be satirizing. Anyone know who everyone else was?
Well the man with the crossed eyes was Ben Turpin. In real life he did have crossed eyes. I mostly remember seeing him in Laurel and Hardy movies.
How can you upload an extremely racist cartoon, state that you are doing it for the purpose of "promoting discussion" and then in the VERY NEXT sentence say that you turned the comments off?? That's pretty daft
