So nice, thanks for explaining why this happened. You would think, Windows should switch back to SDR as soon as you select any other move than HDR on you monitor. Good troubleshooting technique😊

I dont have HDR available...it was fine until I installed official Nvidia driver for 4080 Super, now all the colours and brightness is all weird, peoples skin looks weird colours and stuff, no idea what to do
If you're using Windows 10 or a similar operating system, try searching for 'HDR' in the search field at the bottom. Alternatively, you can go to the settings of the Nvidia driver and look for 'HDR'. I hope this solution works for you. As a last resort, if you're certain that the problem arises from the newly installed driver, you can uninstall it or restore your system using a Restore Point.
Hey thank you for your help, i suggest you put the monitor model name on the video title as I have the EXACT same model as you and it helped out a lot so thank you.

I have a triple monitor setup. I have 2x 27' MSI 2722 and recently i bought the 27' MSI MAG 272. For some reason the MSI mag always looks saturated. Its also the only monitor of the 3 capable of using HDR but ive made sure its disabled but nothing changes. The saturation is annoying as my other monitors are much better in colour quality. I feel like ive done everything, including updating drivers/installing icc/ tweaking settings. Do you have any tips?
That's strange, maybe this third monitor just has a slightly different color gamut than those other two, it's possible because it's a different model. Ensure that the color settings on the MSI MAG 272 monitor itself are not causing the saturation. Navigate through the monitor's menu and adjust color settings such as brightness, contrast, gamma, and color temperature to see if it makes a difference. Hope it will work!
Hi, thanks for the update. Another thing you can check if you don't get the max refresh rate on the monitor is to inspect the HDMI or DisplayPort cable and ensure it is rated for such a refresh rate, as older versions may not be capable of handling high refresh rates at high resolutions.
HDMI 1.4 supports a maximum resolution of 4K (3840x2160 pixels) at a refresh rate of 30Hz. Additionally, it can handle 1080p resolution at higher refresh rates, such as 120Hz or 144Hz. It's important to note that HDMI 1.4 does not support some of the advanced features found in later HDMI versions, such as higher refresh rates at 4K resolutions or dynamic HDR (High Dynamic Range) @@zir786

hi! i have acer nitro vg271u m3 but my colors are not pale they are opposite of that :) what is the word for that too vivid?too vibrant? idk how to fix that...btw this is only 2nd day i have this monitor:)
Hi, go to the settings on the monitor and see what mode it is in, if the colors are really vibrant, it's probably in HDR mode, usually it is good for video but not for everyday tasks. Hope this works!
Hi, if your monitor displays negative colors, it may be due to incorrect display settings, a graphics driver issue, or a problem with the monitor itself. Check Display Settings: Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings". Ensure that the color settings are correct. Look for an option related to color or display mode and set it to the default or recommended setting. On Windows, you may also want to check the "Night Light" or "Blue Light" settings, as these can affect color tones. Ensure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date. Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) and download the latest drivers for your specific graphics card model. Check Monitor Settings: Use the physical buttons on your monitor to access its on-screen menu. Look for color-related settings, such as color temperature or color mode. Reset these settings to default or adjust them to your preference. If you're using an external monitor, try using a different cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) to connect your computer to the monitor. A faulty cable could cause display issues. Connect your monitor to another computer or use a different monitor with your computer. This can help determine if the issue is with the monitor or the computer. Check your monitor's manual to find out how to reset it to factory settings. This can often resolve color-related issues. Check for Color Inversion Software: Some third-party software or accessibility features may cause color inversion. Check your computer settings for any installed programs or accessibility features that may affect color display. Let me know how it goes. Hope this will help!
I am having the same ****** problem. I tried and returned a lot of monitors, including my samsung phone. Changing the settings keeps everything faded looking like a washed out photo. Tried: Samsung & ASUS so far.
@@PulsarTECH I still have 2 other monitors that I am ready to return and they all look different when I open the same images into them side by side. It's kind of funny. So anyway what is making me confused is that it seems like none of the settings are actually tweaking the one detail that is bothering me. I only want to tweak the "higher end white values" and those stay blasted up 11/10 in the exact same relationship of values no matter what.
TN panels are typically known more for their refresh rate than their color accuracy. However, I haven't had the chance to see the IdeaPad one. Personally, I prefer IPS panels for their balanced performance in colors, refresh rates, and price.

"I hear you; the software might have messed up some settings. Try recovering your Windows via a restore point to the earlier date before you installed that software. It should help if the problem is within that software.
On my Samsung 55" 4k TV I had to go into external devices menu and choose to activate UHD display in settings... Without doing that it would only run reduced dynamic range (210 greytones instead of full 256 color) and only highly compressed bad signal not SRGB uncompressed. That resulted in so bad color rendition that I struggled with playing GTA V because so much colors was missing that you could not see what you was doing... ...
