The driftair is about 3-5mph slower than the warp for top speed. With trims all in, the drift is trimmed faster. The handling on the driftair is just slightly less sharp compared to warp but still amazing roll rate. The driftair is much better behaved in turbulance. Less twitching and pitching. I prefer the driftair. I'm willing to trade a few mph top speed to gain the confidence in rough air and easier takeoff and landing
@@MitchG Thank you very much Mitch it's very nice to have answered me. I have been flying a paramotor since 1989 and with Dudek sails since 2006 with the Reaction. Bravo for your videos
The warp is about 3-5 mph faster and a little more efficient. The driftair is much easier to launch and moves around less in turbulence. The warp has more agile handling but only by a small margin if you fly the same size warp and drift. For everyday flying I love the ease of the driftair and confidence it gives me in bad air. For butter smooth air I prefer the warp.
Yeah, the speedster is a good stepping stone to the driftair. If you fly the speedster and drift air in the same size, you will find the drift more efficient and more agile but similar speeds. If you really want an upgrade in handling then fly the drift in a smaller size. Example 22m speedster to a 20 or 18m drift.
Not the same class of wings. The drift air is more advanced with more complicated brakes, risers, sharper handling, more speed ect. The xceed is an intermediate class wing with less reflex in the profile. The xceed could be a good 2nd wing for an average/ talented pilot. The drift should be a 3rd or 4th wing.
Hi Mitch, congratulations on your content, very interesting and very helpful. I would like to ask you for your opinion regarding the driftair. I have been flying for about 6 years on a paramotor with reflex wings and recently I decided to buy the driftair to start using a more dynamic and fun wing. But I don't know which size to go and I would like to know the opinion of an expert like you. I am not an experienced slalom rider and would like to start gradually. My flying weight including fuel is about 103kg and therefore I would be fine on the 16 but also on the 18 sqm. What would your advice be? Thanks so much ! Greetings from Italy
Greetings! If you previously owned 20m or larger wings then I suggest the 18m. It will still be very agile and plenty fast but the takeoff will be much easier. I think you would be very happy with the 18m
@@MitchG Hello Friend ! I couldn't resist your videos 😛😛 I just ordered the 16 square meter driftair. I'll load it around 100 and have to learn a lot, but I'm happy with the choice! Thank you very much indeed !!!
@@MitchG I sure will, unfortunately I'll have to wait till the end of october for the glide to arrive, due to covid they had delays off course, but I am so excited to try it out!!!
No. Any modern en A wing will be more safe than the dominator. In fact the dominator is not actually certified en A since it is a clone of a 10+ year old design that has been modified. That said, the way to be safe is through training and practice. You can easily kill yourself on an en a wing just as easy and any wing.
3:45 Man I love how that thing doesn't appear to "balloon" out of dives; I have a larger B wing and when I let it surge toward the ground it recovers too well and results in a ballooning effect; this looks more fun!
@@wll1500 looks like he applied speed bar in the dive to accelerate toward the ground, then let off to climb quickly, avoiding the need to enter a turn to bleed off energy; that's more what I was referring to...greater control of AOA using bar
It doesn’t matter where his trims were set because that wing has an extra set of pulleys on the risers (just like the warp) that allow it to go to full speed without having to adjust the trims at all. On the uni 1.1 i’m not positive but i don’t think it has that ability
I think I’ve watched enough of these videos that this guy Mitch is self trained at PPG. And obviously a great pilot. Probably better than most because Mitch wasn’t afraid to think outside the box. Notice Mitch careful wording in his reply. Practice (he didn’t say training). I would never advise against training but I’d suggest be careful, many of the trainers are nothing more than salesman. Ain’t nothing wrong with that, we all gotta eat. But dudes are making a full time living off training. Buy a wing, you could even buy a smaller kiter wing and get to practicing. You don’t need to wait for training, start training!

I always enjoy watching you fly PAK low to the deck like that. It seems you may be the only American posting videos like that.. I dig it!
Just keep doing your thing Mitch. Low and fast, whip and nay nay! Most fun paramotor videos to watch!

Mitch, your flying is seriously fun to watch. Rad stuff man.
Thank you
Sweet vid bro. Glad to see more paramotoring videos besides Tucket Gott. I'm looking to join this sport very soon. I can't wait. :)
Love it Mitch! Thanks for the ride! 👊👍🚀
If this is in the El Paso area man has it grown since I lived there in the 70's, nice flying you make people want to fly !
thanks! Yes el paso has grown so much
Wow you were deeeep in the breaks getting the Universal to take off. Nice vid!!

You have the wing in your hand... The wing is like a part of your body... Impressive!!! Congrats buddy!
Thank you
Cracking video. Really enjoyed it. Thanks Mitch G
Man what an epic video. I hope to one day grow balls as big as you Mitch!
i LOVE the collors on this wing.

I tought DriftAir comes with same handels as H3. I love those.
It does. I put my custom warp handles on the driftair so I could do a really fair comparison

Hi Micht, I have a Warp 16 and would like to have a Driftair 16. There is a big difference in the speed and behavior of the wing. Nono from France

Nice helmet Mitch!
Looks like a nice wing. Anything you don't like about it?
I wish it was just a little faster. 45mph is fast but the warp goes 50mph at the same wing loading.
Hello Mitch. Question for you my friend. How do you compare the Driftair with the Warp.
The warp is about 3-5 mph faster and a little more efficient. The driftair is much easier to launch and moves around less in turbulence.
