- This video is not meant to be the top 10 fastest hunts, rather the first 10 hunts that come to most hunters' minds when thinking of fast hunts. I dis-counted some because of similarities, for example I'm not going to have every game's safari zone, so I put the fastest safari zone. And I realized right after making this that the gen 4 double battle encounters that you can do in D/P/Pt may be faster than the double grass in gen 5, I forgot they existed. If you guys want I can test that and put the rate in the description.

Logan Davis sorry to tell you, but SOS in itself is not full odds. It's a method hunt and the rarity is reduced

byron clarkson I'd vote #1 to be a shiny starter in SuMo or shint Deoxys in ORAS, because for Deoxys you have to catch Rayquaza then go through that whole cutscene over and over.
I don't think the doexys can be shiny, and there are a few hunts slower than the SuMo starters, but they are pretty high on the list, I think top 3 or top 5

I actually tried to Johto starter hunt after watching this and got my shiny Chikorita! It's been a few months since then, but now I'm using that Shiny Meganium to search for the run away Electrodes.

that means you have an early shiny frame! try to get more and don't replace your battery
This video/your channel in general motivated me to go for full odds shiny Charmander via soft resetting, and I just got him tonight after roughly two weeks on and off :). Thanks a ton for this video!
I think one special mention is Zapdos from FR/LG, if you run away from him, you can exit the building and re-enter it, and it will re-spawn, repeating the process until he shines, but nonetheless this is a really well made video.
Haha great to see this video pop again after a few years now. I've been enjoying Pokemon Legends Arceus and PLA is now the king of full odds hunting. Depending on whatever self-made route, you can see 1k pokemon more or less in an hour! It's actually really insane XD
No 1 I did and got a Shiny Chikorita after about 1000 SRs; I was so happy because it was my target aswell👌🏻

Misleading information. Contrary to popular belief, it is still possible to find a shiny if your internal battery is dry., but it works using in game time (AKA shiny frames) instead of your luck, like pokemon emerald.
Just Mii yeah I know, but that would take many more minutes to go over than needed for this list, and I already have a very popular video on that, so it's unnecessary to go over it all again. What I said wasn't wrong, it is nearly impossible, I just wanted to steer people away from it because it is near impossible and most people wouldn't be prepared enough to hunt on dead battery regardless of information amounts given to them
Hi, great video. I would just love to know that does the dead internal battery affect egg hatching? I have hatched 2k eggs in emerald and no luck yet. Am i doing this for nothing or is the chance normal?

That #2 Abra trick on Leaf green is actually how I got my second shiny ever back in like 2010. Good times.

Minerva Mcgonagal I didn't forget them, they're fast, definitely but I didn't want to put every single gamecorner hunt on the list, so I just put the faster one and then let people assume all gamecorner are fast. That way I can get more information of other fast hunts too and people have a wider variety to choose from

Differences: 5 is almost double 3
The game with 5 also has greater base odds so not only is it 5:3 per Pokémon it’s more like 10:3, so yeah a drastic enough difference. But also no one says it isn’t full odds, full odds hunters just kind of don’t do it because it’s not as fun

Tucker Mills you get 1 jaw or sail fossil per game (I got more from trading) then you can rock smash rocks in glittering cave to get an unlimited amount of any other ones

Well it’s official, I have now claimed a shiny using at least 5 of these hunts! All that’s left is the 3d games hunts, rayquaza/regis and a double grass shiny, hopefully tympole for my 4th shiny for my badge quest

Igor Rivera not necessarily. You can fix this with a link cable and the berry glitch fix with FR/LG. However if you don't have the things needed then yes. You don't however need to start a new game for RNG to work properly again
Another one: Shaymin in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum via Run Away encounters, but only if A. you use the Void glitch, B. you hack to get Oak's Letter, or C. you use the hotspot and Primary DNS combo exploit to obtain the Oak's Letter.

Mela AJ 1) there's so many hunts here, that question is ridiculously broad
2) don't jump to conclusions. I never said any of these cannot be done in ORAS.
3) any of these Pokémon (aside from rayquqaza because it's locked) that can be found in ORAS as well can be hunted. They're not as fast though because the reset time takes longer. Hence why no ORAS pokemon are on the list. That's kind of self-explanatory.

Full odds Shinies I've gotten, aside form Pokemon Go, whether I was hunting them or not:
Meditite (Sapphire), Lilipup (White), Lugia (Alpha Sapphire), Type: Null (Sun), Surfing Pikachu (Ultra Moon), Weedle (Let's Go Pikachu)
And for hordes: Plusle, Skarmory, Aron, Zigzagoon, and two Spinda all in AS. The second Spinda came two hordes after the first and I nearly dropped my 3DS in surprise.
My current full-odds hunts are Cyndaquil (Crystal) and Treeko (Sapphire), and psyching up for the Pikachu hunts, whether they're full-odds or method hunts.

Hate saying it but who cares if a group of people down horde battles. That is technically full odds hunting. Otherwise any method other than true 1/8192 should be disowned. That includes using more than one system at a time, double battles, shiny charm, or whatever else is done by these same people. They just hate seeing anything with better odds. Shiny hunting is shiny hunting. Just go enjoy the hunts and enjoy the shinies!

Just got to the Electrode room in Heart Gold, didn’t take long for me to get a Shiny one (probably less than 100 encounters) and I’m contemplating going for another.

The last week I did the electrode hunt, got it in under 100 tries, then I did dartini extreme speed and got that in 5 days with about 900 resets, then I did ho oh and got that in under 300 resets in a few hours. All that happened in a week. Probably should’ve bought a lottery ticket instead

In my sapphire and ruby both with dead batteries, I got a shiny rayquaza in sapphire after 102 sr and a wild shiny zigzagoon just playing through ruby
jaired justin brown extreme luck to have an early shiny frame on a game with frozen frames for that rayquaza. And RES are totally possible, just not SR hunts. That is, unless you have an early shiny frame, in which case it is illegitimate anyways
I got a shiny Totodile in heartgold in only about four hours of hunting, then got a shiny game corner dratini just 3 days after. Still going for ho-oh though.

You can also run from the regi’s and rayqauza and exit the caves and enter again and they’ll be there. Instead of soft resetting
Cameron Stuhler I know, I have a video tutorial about that. But it’s no longer as fast. Also that only works in Emerald, in R/S if they have a dead battery you’re screwed
I've done a few of these hunts, but I've stopped SR-ing altogether because it messed up the buttons on three of my handhelds. Fortunately, almost all of those hunts were successful so, I guess it was kinda worth it, lol
Jade I've been hunting for 6 years and only had problems with one system's buttons but that's because DS lites have a bad build. Was only $5 for the replacement parts to fix it though. You gotta be more gentle with your systems man lol

If you have a dead internal battery you can still get shinies, all it means is you cannot go through night and day to evolve pokémon like eevee or grow berries because all clock based events will be disabled. The game literally tells you that before you start the game. I have a dead battery and I got a shiny Groudon and Rayquaza, fairly quickly too.
4815162342RG incorrect. Dead internal battery freezes your frames in R/S and makes them act like emerald overall. Emerald always has frozen frames. I bet your rayquaza and Groudon have the same nature and IV spread too. They are RNG clones of each other. If you try to SR in a dead battery RS or in Emerald, you will either get quick shinies which are illegitimate RNG clones, or you will never get the shiny.
My recent SoulSilver starter hunt ended up being insanely fast with a Cyndaquil showing up within a few hours. Really surprised. I also ended up getting 3 other shinys (dratini, sandshrew, abra) using Voltorb Flip coins in relatively quick time as well.
I guess it's time for me to try for an electrode now, fitting since I actually just stopped playing right in front of them and didn't consider running away like stated in the video.

After 55 SRs, I got an abra from the goldenrod city game corner. It’s on my channel. I know it’s not the same as getting a bunch from the frlg game corner, but boy was I stoked.

Little nitpick: Honorable mentions are usually reserved for list items that didn't quite make top 10 but were interesting in some way. The honorable mention in this video would be better labeled something like "0th place", meaning ahead of 1st place but not quite qualifying for 1st place for a particular reason.
You're right but 0th place seems awkward and in videos for presentation purposes once you reach 1 from counting down, that's supposed to signify that it's the end and you're done. If you go beyond that it doesn't quite sit well. I do appreciate the piece of advice, but in the end it hardly makes a difference.

Gen 5 starters are also quite easy to SR hunt
Not anywhere near the pace of hunts like these, gen 5 starters are about 60-90/hour
the HGSS starter shiny hunt was the 1st and last shiny hunt i ever did. I was going for a shiny cyndaquil or totodile and after 2 days of going at it I eventually found a shiny totodile.

The HGSS starters are incredibly easy to hunt. I bought a copy of soul silver yesterday and found a shiny cydaquil in 4 and a half hours. Going to try for the voltorb run away in this playthrough next :D

hey in heart gold and soul silver on Game Corner , if you shiny hunt dratini ,abra or Sandshrew buying 5 and reset you will have a like 435/450 per hour in the hunt ,ist like really fast

Hey I have the worst shiny luck and you said if you have bad luck at full odds you should try these. I tried getting a Johto starter and I went 3+ hours a day for 3 months straight! Not trying to be mean it’s just funny that it still took me so long even though it’s the fastest full odds hunt
Magma Attack bad luck is just bad luck no matter what. Doing the same amount of encounters would take longer to get a shiny in literally any other method. That's still the best way, just sucks to have bad luck. Trust me, it's literally all of my hunts

I've been hunting the Johto starters for about a month and a half now and I've been getting both unlucky and super lucky. I've gotten 10 Totodile, 3 Cyndaquil, and no Chikorita so far :/ I'm getting a bit discouraged but I'm still pushing through because I really want all 3 starters. Wish me luck this phase ends with Chikorita :)
When doing fossil resets you can also use your pokedex to look if theres a shiny entry as long as this is the first time you hunt that shiny. its faster if you get a lot of the same fossil and dont want to go through all of them in the pc.
That is actually true if you hunt 1 Pokémon that makes it pretty easy, I didn't think of that. However the PC is also fast, and the time difference I would assume is only 10 seconds difference max, making the new rate ~230 in an hour
Psychopad92 it isn't much of a change admittedly, but over time it'll add up fast
yeah its not much of a time difference but its more comfy imo.
I actually tried the wimpod hunt with full odds a while back and I'd say it took me about 45 minutes to get after I started!
