So many of you ask for my opinion on different digital art programs, so these are my first impressions of Clip Studio Paint! I had so much fun trying out all these new, crazy features. When you noticed that Ross missed the color dodge function and I'm like bro it is right there🤣
The color dodge tool on clip studio is super intense, that’s probably why he used add glow instead haha
Yes add glow is the most near thing to what he does in PS it and is better than the color dodge in csp
@@jen.kj7 I tend to use color dodge and drop the opacity!! It gives a cool look with the layer mode, but I totally get that sometimes it’s WAY too prominent
Yeah add glow is definitely closer to photoshop‘s colour dodge

I use clip studio paint and actually is the best software that I ever use it's comfortable 💞☺ thanks for the review your art its amazing ☺

Mines does a bit depending on if the program has the textured brush I use I mean facial features wont but texture will

@@soulcatcher_pajome ive realized while drawing my warm up exercises in like ibispaint x, procreate, and clip studio paint , I found csp felt alot better to draw more easily with...I seriously wanna buy it

How do you save your art for free on clip studio
First I’m gonna have to learn how to hold a pencil to be able to use a software like that
I thought the same thing whenever I started using a drawing tablet, but I picked it up pretty quickly! You get used to it, and it becomes second nature (at least, in my experience).

4:20 Fun fact, you can pick colors from your screen off-window in Photoshop too (by click&hold color picker and then drag outside). ^^ Works best with 2 screens though, since you gotta leave Photoshop open (without minimizing). Peace!
At the moment I'm also using CSP though, working with it for 2 months now and I like it.
Yesterday I saw this as an ad, so I went and watched it on the clip studio paint youtube channel, and now I'm watching it here

I saw it at school
I've used CSP for some time now, and my fave feature is the 3D models that you can use to work out your character's pose, angle etc. It's so helpful for any drawing, but especially angles that are difficult to produce, or poses that are hard to capture IRL.

I've had clip studio for years now and I'm in love with it, both for comic and illustration! It was really cool to see u use it!
So happy you finally tried out Csp! I love this program a lot, also i saw in the csp promo video you used add glow instead of color dodge! The program does have color dodge it was a bit above the add glow option!
It was the vector tools that won me over. Being able to just block out an outline, then add points to create curves, and then use the correction tools to thicken or thin out lines without having to really freehand it all is the most amazing thing to me. I can't draw, carpel tunnel is bad, but these tools make it easy for me to "draw". It takes more time than what a real artist can accomplish, but it does work, and it works very well.

I started using csp recently and I love it, but I had no idea about these features you've used here! I'm falling in love more with this program every day!

I have been using this program for like literally 4 years and I just learned so many cool things from this video. Personally I hate Photoshop, I've never felt comfortable with the UI it just always felt awkward to me, so it makes me happy to see people drawing with the same program I use! Makes me feel less weird about using a different program when Photoshop is the standard. Love the piece!

I moved to clip studio paint from Adobe and I love every moment of it.❤🌺 I am so excited that you tried it too!
🤔🤔🤔just thinking if he will feel the same than us, if he use it again he will never want to come back to PS, if you see drawing/painter process videos with PS they don’t zoom in or out neither rotate the canvas because the H and R in PS are super awful to use while in CSP your navigation is too smooth while working than if you come back to PS feels like your hands are tied and can’t work

I am a fairly new user to Clip Studio Paint and I didn't even know some of these features! I keep learning more and more about this amazing art software, honestly CSP is a blessing

Something about your videos is so sincere, it makes me feel like I can paint a beautiful portrait as long as I find my light! I still have a long way to go but I'm sure I can do it!
I do really like the add glow layer setting too personally. color dodge is still a classic

I love how Ross tries to draw the hand and then drops the useful trick of the reference! I think hands are easier if you draw them frequently, and that your own hand is the best reference ever!😊
Also, Ross should try Ibis Paint.

I've been using Clip Studio Paint for half a year now and didn't know about the screen recording feature or the color picker feature. I would've loved to have used those before! I was even using a separate program to screen record.
I was lately waiting for one of the sales to grab this since I keep using my old (and last) Manga Studio license!

I don't understand why he would be in pain? The color dodge is also available. Add glow is actually one my favorite blending effects. But I'm a dummy.

@@Rio-dz5oo They're actually the exact same. Let's make sure people get accurate information. I don't know why he went for add glow, but it may have been simply because, Add Glow has a really nice effect. Been using both products for over 10 years, and just like Ross, I switched from Color Dodge to Add Glow. But that's just me.
Been a CSP user myself for 2 years now, coming off of PaintTool Sai, and this program is my favourite I've ever tried. Good timing for this video too, Ross since CSP is having a 50% off sale right now. ;3
Timelapse is by far the new feature I was most excited about though. I wanted it for sooooo long. I love seeing what other artists do for their workspace layout. I still basically just use the default layout but I look seeing what other people do looking for a more efficient setup.
Would you say it's relatively easy to change from SAI to CSP?
I've been using sai for year's but I'm looking for something new, I know every software takes some getting used to but I tend to be a creature of habit and fear of change 😅

don't be sad, you paid full price for an amazing product. The money will go to the people who made this product possible. Discounts are nice, everyone loves them but paying a fair price for a product that you'll have for life is even better. Compared with the subscription to Photoshop(for a long period of time) you paid almost nothing :p

Being an artist doesn't need the best apps/program it's all about your skill that what mostly matter
As a user of Krita and photoshop in the past, I would say that if the program is lagging, scratching, crashing 24/7 it will be a pain in the ass to work with it. So u need to find the best app FOR YOU to be comfortable with it.
