      Most of these are 'sleeper hits' but yeah, Squash especially, there's a genuinely fun game in there. Many of these Spanish games are genuinely good, TCH put out a game called Speed Spin, which is one of my favourite Ping-Pong / Table Tennis games, although sadly that isn't part of any licensed collection at the time of writing.

    I realy enjoyed the first Gaelco collection. Aligator Hunt is one of my favorite games on Evercade. And as i watched you play Thunder Hoop 2 it seemed like this game has some of the same enemies and it sounds the same as Aligator Hunt. I looking forward to play this one.

      Yes, TH2 seemed very much Alligator Hunt inspired, mainly with the music and sounds.

    The Evercade can't have a light gun. That sort of technology requires CRT televisions, which is why you don't see any modern consoles having light guns. It would be possible for the Evercade to come out with some sort of motion control thing like the Wiimote, and that could work somewhat the same, but the games would have to be reprogrammed to work with it. I just don't see that being very likely for that one game which not many people even care about.
    But now that I've thought about this, I think a wiimote type of thing would be a great peripheral for Blaze to consider releasing for the Evercade. I don't know if the Evercade is powerful enough to emulate Wii games, but certainly this would open the door to a lot of possibilities for new original content. Consider how insanely popular the Wii was back when it came out, and as of right now no one is really tapping into that sort of market anymore. Blaze could be the ones to do it if they put in the elbow grease to make it happen.

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  2 роки тому

      There was a light gun made recently for lcd tvs, I'm sure I remember reading about it. www.vg247.com/light-gun-game-revival-sinden-lightgun#:~:text=Light%20Gun%20Games%20can%20now,be%20remade%20or%20even%20remastered.

    I’m very happy to see both Thunder Hoop 2 and World Rally 2 play as they should! While not as filled with top notch entertainment as the first, I’ll gladly get this too!
    It seems very reasonable that the “light gun” game is a bonus not counting as a seventh game. While not playing as good as in the arcade, it’s more Gaelco weirdness to behold.
    By now I think all early Gaelco games worth compiling are on the Evercade. Time will tell if any polygon based arcade games will be featured, if so there are some more from Gaelco.

    Been playing both this and jaleco arcade 1 last night and most of today. I think both gaelco arcade 1 and 2 are both equally awesome.
    My favorite game on this collection is Thunderhoop 2 easily. I think it should of gotten the front and centre treatment lol. Maniac square was a decent puzzle game. My least favorite game by far was the hidden dual cart game Bang! Definitely a wasted hidden game choice. World rally 2. Better than the first IMO. I really liked big Karnak. And I was quite surprised how good squash and touch and go was actually. Quality cartridge overall. Gaelco really did make some great arcade games. Easily one of the most underrated.

    @mamehaze 2 роки тому +1

    If you can find a way to reliably reproduce the issue you had with Thunder Hoop 2 I'd be interested in knowing. I did encounter something similar while working on it, when I was aggressively attacking the boss, breaking the attack pattern and driving it off-screen, but thought I'd just found a bug in the actual game. Interesting to hear of it not spawning at all though, as I played this a hundred times and never saw that happen! Gaelco did love to layer their protection though, and hide subtle checks, so it's possible some specific sequence of doing things triggers a check even beyond the DS5002 emulation that triggers such a behaviour, assuming it isn't just a bug in the game itself.

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  2 роки тому

      I did take a video and sent it to Blaze. I'm pretty sure it's a save state issue compatibility with the game rather than being an issue with the actual game. These games were not designed for save states. Similarly with Alligator Hunt, going back to a save state, the music stops playing.

    • @mamehaze
      @mamehaze 2 роки тому +1

      @@CrazyBurger I'm not sure it will be save state related, I think everything is being saved as it should be, probably a case of a corrupt internal game state from something going wrong earlier becoming part of the save. Alligator Hunt, yeah, that's understandable, I needed to make a number of fixes to the sound core to properly support Touch and Go, and I did notice at the time that it wasn't saving its state properly at all (so fixed that for Gaelco 2) but it will affect games built off the older code (I wasn't really involved in the Gaelco 1 cartridge apart from providing the fixes for Thunder Hoop 1)

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  2 роки тому

      Ah I've just realised who you are.. if you want me to send you the video of TH2 let me know. It was very bizarre.

    • @mamehaze
      @mamehaze 2 роки тому

      I fear without context of whatever happened before it the video won't show me much. If you take Thunder Hoop 1 for example, the protection check occurs on the Stage 2 boss, when it spawns the pink enemies (it checks the refresh frequency of the screen!). The game then acts like everything is fine until the 4th stage, where if that protection check on stage 2 failed, the game will freeze when you die. These copy protections of old can really come back and bite you!
      If you want to link to an unlisted video of the failure I can take a look, but I think this is going to take a lot of debugging to figure out if it's a game flaw or an emulation flaw.

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  2 роки тому

      @@mamehaze So my save state was just before the boss, where you smash the green cylinder. When I returned to the save state it was initially fine.. then during the boss fight it went a bit sideways.. as per the section in this video. Could do nothing as TH stuck in the air. Then loaded that exact same save state back in again and went to the boss stage and no boss materialised. I reverted to a previous save which then seemed to fix the problem.

However when trying this, the cursor moves to the other side of the screen randomly and using the controller seems to make some games freeze/stutter. The cards are great. Not so great: spelling the cart name incorrectly on the menu (Galeco), putting the right screenshots on the right pages of the manual. Having the text properly laid out in the Thunder Hoop comic. Proofing isn't this hard guys. Even the promotional email they sent out about the EXP waiting list had multiple obvious typos. It continues to give the impression that Blaze just don't care about quality and getting things right. It's quite infuriating.
