"Did you flop the nuts?"
"Yeah."
For some reason Phil Ivey's nonchalant "yeah" kills me.
same
Jesus Christ more videos of this era. It may be better poker now, but this era is far better to watch.
It’s boring in terms of strategy though. I’d rather see modern pros play
Sure, but there are literally years worth of poker training on the internet and or UA-cam. I feel this is more entertaining. Though, it could just be the editing. For example, the extremely long and frequent supertanking isnt something we all need to sit through. Cut it together, make it exciting. That could just be me though, but I feel like it would attract way more of an audience. And making it more accessible, will bring more novice players into the game. And thats good for everyone.
And more Lon Mceren, Norman Chad, Gabe Kaplan, Lex V, and Mike Sexton announced matches. My god, announcers that sound like theyve actually spoken to people before please.
The excessive tanking today makes poker unbearable to watch these days . 🤦♂️🤦♂️
I’m quite new to poker .. what’s the difference these days?
Set of 2's, Set of 8's, set of Q's and Ivey is still best with the nut flush draw. Sick hand!!!
Real crazy hand. He was a favourite because the others blocked each other from pairing the board too. Still what a beastly run.
10:42
Williamson: Did you flop the nuts?
Ivey: Who do you think you're talking to.
Phil just goes “yeaaa” like he’s being awkward with some girl 😂😂
back in the golden age when poker was actually fun to watch
I was so young and successful in poker to be retired now
when everyone was a nit and 3bet was AA or KK 100%
I miss these days but Im fortunate enough to have lived it.
@@cybalanced4108 XD golden times. epic. but same on low stakes. but less fun bec less money.
Watching back in these 2005 years is how i learned.
THIS WAS THE GOLDEN AGE OF POKER!!
This guy is the reason why I love poker.
Eddy Scharf? 😁
Williamson ?
@@jeromelawler902 Ahah!!
No, guys. I mentioned Norman Chad.
Same here bro
10th place $0, 9th place $53.000 that is some bubble in a 5k....
They sure improved that payout structure since then.
Ivey hit the deck massively here
Robert Williamson was a great player and fun to watch play
Good ol' 2005... when the preflop action and pot size weren't even considered relevent.
Phil is DECADES ahead of his time in poker it's unfathomable...
I love watching Ivey, he's so adaptable on every level
Phil Laak?
"did you flop the nuts?"
"yeah"
stone cold 'yeah"
Normal for Phil
He almost sounded sorry
Yeah
Everything was better 20 years ago. Music, movies, sport, poker.
Women
lol true!@@PokrPro21
Cmon bro Phil Ivey is the 🐐 of poker
In 2005, Phil Ivey set the record for most number of cashes at WSOP. That’s insane. 2005!!!
Yeah 2005?? What's so surprising about 2005?? I don't get it 🤷
lol no you definitely misheard what he said. he said Phil Hellmuth, not Phil Ivey
He destroyed that field.
Williamson was a plo specialist at the time
Cunningham considered one of the best in the world. And Ivey destroyed them all 😬
I got to photograph him back in 2009. Really nice guy. Love watching him play.
" I promise to play better..." LMAO!!! Been there!
No time bank needed in that age of Poker. Lovely
PokerGO is the underground king for vintage POKER *respect*
Crazy to hear talk of trying to get "Ivey's 5th" or "Hellmuth's 10th" when, between the start of this tournament and today, both have grabbed 6 bracelets each (the first of Ivey's next 6 being this one).
The Williamson/Hellmuth hand was the highlight of this tournament episode.
The 2nd to last hand of the video was the funniest to me 😂
They edited here, but in the full episode, Phil's rant after the hand is priceless! "He walked on water." 🤣🤣🤣
Correctly folds a set of 8s, then calls it all off with a pair of 8s
It's warm around my heart watching this...
so true. golden times. all was so innocent and easy, lel it was not. only the feelin of knowing better makes it look so easy.
Gotta watch the chilli-dogs my friend!
Payouts were so top heavy
Back to Poker and Billiards days 😍
Hellmuth’s bust out is super sick. Blocking top set and the nut flush draw with middle set and still losing to top set is just ridiculous
Nostalgia! Wish I got to play in those days.
Love me some Omaha!!!! Full deck only ❤
Great video editing!
Williamson is a great player he folded trip 8s when he was way behind .then he also knocked out Phil hellmuth the goat N that’s why he made it to 2nd place . Phil Ivey was just getting hit with deck luck was on his side but that’s poker though
his call on the river with trip Q's was horrendous. Ivey never triple barrel bluff there without having that beat
@@Simon-nv5zj and the bet call at the end was trash.
Anyone know what hand Robert Williamson folded?
he did not have a Nut Flush Draw like he knew Ivey had
@@johnnylangen2839 he folded middle set on q82, the others had sets and ivey nut flush and almost pot committed.
@@MrKh4Ot1k It was a joke..
Set of 8s with a gut shot. But seeing the cards 2 10s are out of the deck
@@jacksparrow3490 It was a joke..
11:14 Rinner Rinner
Phil Ivey is a favorite to win a game of Pick Up Sticks
More Omaha, Stud, etc.. please
@8:33-9:38 is gold. Especially the last 10 seconds. You’re welcome 😎
4:25 I didn't quite get it, did he had three 8s?
I remember when they used to air air this on espn
I wish we can get more of these bracelet event final tables from 04-2010
Nice video.
Eddy Scharf is the biggest Donk i ever seen on Ohama going All in with 222 against 3 Peoples😂
Yeah horrible play for sure. I like Williamsons laydown with the the three 8's though. No player had any spades, so many spades to win for Ivey.
I’m so sad I ddnt get to watch these live.. was when I wasn’t into poker
can't imagine a $5k with a $52k min cash nowadays... paid 9 players in a 134-player field!
Every hand was insane
Best mouth breather in the game
you know it's old when PH isn't wear PH
6:34 to 7:23, here's a drinking game: have a shot every time Cunningham does that weird nose twitch.
Oh, yeh, and if you do play it.... have an ambulance on stand-by.
good old times
So lucky haha the only hand Phil had to even try on was the first before he got the nut flush
Roy Keane: "That's his job"
More like "Phil Ivey Flopping Brutal Coolers" lol
So lucky
Funny seeing Helmuth whine about a cooler. While Ivey is a stone cold pro
In case it wasnt clear Allen Cunningham needs the board to pair
Praise the Lord, pair the board!..
are you sure, they didnt mention that
Shaking hands like you lost the hand already before its over is shady 😂
I worked with Phil Ivey in Jersey many moons ago. He actually hired me.
Hired you for what? To massage his back and sack while he played ?
Lucky you AVV
You think any more jobs going?
Prime Ivey was so good, way better than the tournament players we have today
How old is this video Fijji bottles looked the same ?
Phil Ivey is as fuckin cool as they come!!!
I actually prefer Omaha to Hold’em. More action
Ivey wow
Really bad how he gives away he basically fold a set of 8 while Ivey still 2 act
Why did I think you had to make two separate hands in Omaha? Or is that Hi/Lo?
Phil hellmuth started getting coolered on UA-cam in 2005 hahaha
A822 final hand on 874 flop in Omaha, I've literally seen 1$ mtt buy in players online who would know enough to fold that 😂
He doesn’t have a lot of chips left.
@@oliviergrenier3574 yeah of course but that's a pretty pathetic hand to go out with, he wasn't short enough to go with that, if he was that short he would have just got it in pre, that hand was pathetic
In HU, it's going to be ahead a large proportion of the time
@@Gryzounours lol no its never ahead if any sort of money goes in, whats it ahead of? you dont play plo, stop, I have scoop and wcoop fts in plo and 10 million hands played.
Where did Allen Cunningham go? I Lliked him.
Williamson had trips
I don't play PLO. But how does Iveys Flush beat Scharf's Boat? 🤔 I'm confused..
A PLO player explained it to me. Can only play 2 hole cards. Wow PLO actually sounds like a pretty interesting game now
Eddie didn't have a boat. Must use 2 from your hand and 3 from the board exactly in Omaha. So his hand was 2,2,2,Q,J not 2,2,2,8,8
wow RW played that last hand horrible, leading out on that board w no chips wtf, frustration set in
What happened to Cunningham? Haven't heard about him since the FTP days
I know and he was a O.G he was like the old school undercover goat!
He knocked out everybody dam near lol
It's easy when you run good though
why didn’t the middle hand have a full house? He had 3 2’s and he had an 8 and there was an 8 on the board.. but I’m just noticing something as I type this.. cuz I don’t even know how to play plo but can you only play 2 of the 4 cards?
You can only use 2 cards in your hand so in that case he only plays the 22 since that gives him a set
its a shame to see how much Robert ballooned up. he's like 3x the size now.
Is he? I haven't seen the guy since then I don't think.
Poker is better with Phil Ivey in it. Shame that he's pretty much given up on playing tournaments the past few years.
omg what is Eubanks dlind
Ivey day
Is it me or did they get the last hand wrond, he did have 3 outs not 2 he could hit the case 4 for a boat right?
I’ve been sitting here thinking the same thing. 🤔
No, Phil Ivey had three fours. The case four would have given Ivey Quads 4s.
@@Cooldrummer thanks, it was right in front of me and I couldn’t see it. 🤪
Lol my bad
Why they play with 4 cards ?
Never played omaha pot limit. Can you even bluff?
Good fold from Adam Sandler
Ivey runs too good
the maradona of poker
As if there were only 134 people on a wsop tournement 😂
Thats actually correct. This was in 2005 when Omaha wasn't popular and the buy in was 5k. 134 entrants in a 5k PLO tournament in 2005 sounds about right
The cash on the table when they’re heads up compared to now is pretty funny too 😂
Domination? Dude ran like a god!! That wasn't Domination...that was luck!!!
For real lol straight up lucky
Imagine being sad that you didn't win a bracelet and cashed out for only 70K.
So poetic how he escaped with the trip 8's, only to lose a crippling pot later with trips because of the 88 runout.
set* 8s
then trips
there's a difference
@@runningrock124 really? It's not the same hand?
You must be a professional 🙄
been crushing my local $1/3 game for 15months.
@@runningrock124 you're so thick. That game must be really soft.
@@ilya4759 hell yeah.

Where’s Lanni Anderson!!
Phil Helmuth thumb downed this
Nah, he has more bracelets than anyone. Ever.

Tricky game.. Anti-poker, where it’s almost better to be drawing.. I’ve always preferred PLO high low split..
There’s even more drawing in high low lol
Not if you don’t play for lows, which I don’t unless I got A,2,3..
I play to scoop pots, not half of quarter them..
5:14 scharf is fullhouse, why ivey win the pot
I think you to learn the basics of poker bro literally impossible to have a full house on a non paired board
Back before poker was just a bunch of dorks sitting around seeing who can look the most disinterested
Bro i feel like ivey had this shit rigged lmao
11:13 "Runner runner".... clueless momo
Why clueless? She was right tho only running clubs 2s or 8s would win him the hand or 5 6 for a chop
Donkey table
les équités affichées sont parfois fausses
How mushcg ihhh iiit?
Deck hitting Ivey….. bad play rewarded
Only played because the cash game was cancelled
Then just ruins the whole show
