- Just because a garden sprayer stops working doesn’t mean you should throw it out and get another one. The same thing is going to happen to the new one. These sprayers need maintenance. Once you understand the concept of how to fix these you’ll probably be picking these up on the side of the road when other people just threw them away. The amazon links for silicone grease or a new sprayer are below...
silicone grease: amzn.to/3vMyTgF
1-gallon garden sprayer: amzn.to/397dyqD
(As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. In other words, I'll get a small percent of whatever you buy from them. COSTS YOU NOTHING. Thanks guys!)
Was about to replace mines. I then saw the price on amazon and said to myself "someone else has to have had this problem'.. Thanks your fix definitely worked for me.
👍👍
EXACTLY the same situation over here!
Great video, and well explained....
Saved me from buying a whole new one.
Great video
Walmart 10 bucks man
I did the same thing!
Same 😂
You are so correct, lubrication is key to smooth pumping action. 😉
Thats what she said
That was an easy fix and you just saved me $50 or more. I was about one day away from throwing my sprayer away and heading for the hardware store. And I didn't even need any new parts or materials to fix it. Thank you very much!!
$50 for those little cheap pump sprayers. You are getting ripped off.
So glad I checked UA-cam before replacing mine. They’re honestly pretty cheap but any money we can save is always a bonus!
Love a short, straight to the point video.
Thanks from Ireland 🇮🇪
I’d a pressure sprayer that’s quite old and I was going to dump it but now it’s back in action & like new 🙏🏻
Most of the $30 +/- price range have a few negative reviews on Home Depot, Lowes,... And they mostly complain about pressure problems. Thank you very much for your service.
Awesome video. I have a sprayer that I bought several years ago that has some nice features. It crapped out a few days ago. It quit pumping air into the tank. I purchased a new one it broke within 5 minutes of taking it out of the box. I ended up taking it back the next day. I found this video today. Within 5 minutes my old awesome sprayer was working again!
Thanks for sharing. Our HDX sprayer wouldn't hold any pressure today. Watched your video to get a good idea on how to repair our sprayer. Our sprayer was fixed thanks to you.
my gasket had not come loose, but a simple cleaning and a lil lube fixed my cheapo unit from ACE hardware. so thank you!
I had mine sitting for a year and wanted to use it for the first time and I was so upset that it didn’t work. Watched this video and added some silicone grease to the o-ring at the bottom and now it works!! Thank you!
I was just going to head into town to buy a new one.... decided to check out UA-cam first....cheers for the detailed fix....sprayer now working better than what it was when new 😊😊
Thank you for posting this video. I had no idea it was that simple of a device. I was almost ready to order a new pump. I disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and reassembled the pump for 2 sprayers in 30 minutes or less. Very simple. I am putting this on my annual maintenance log!
Thank you, from me too. 2 mins fix.
Just what I was looking for in a How to UA-cam video. Thanks for taking the time to put it online.
Thank you so much for your video. It was simply explained with great up close video so we could see exactly what you were doing. I’m a 75 year old woman who wants to know how to do simple repairs for myself. Thanks again for sharing…I’m off to spray my weeds!
Glad the video helped.Since you mentioned spraying down the weeds, I found that high concentration of salt in water does an amazing job of killing the weeds. In the past I’ve used stuff like round up. I wasn’t actually expecting it to work but I thought I might pass on that information, it’s cheap give it a try.👍👍
Thanks mate for the video. I just fixed my hand pump. The manufacturer told me to buy another one but my old one works like new again thanks to you.
Having the same problem, I'm about to throw mine away. Thank you for the helpful tutorial.
I fixed two sprayers this afternoon and they work fine. Thanks for the tips and the proper lubrication, I had no idea regarding that. It's the key to this problem.
What kind of sound did yours make?
Excellent information, and good close up camera work. Saved me the frustration of buying another unit. Thank you.
;
Thank you very much for this informative step by step guide. Very well explained; even the little but important info such as the one way valve, of which's function I had no idea is explained here. Great stuff.
it is amazing,,,When you have a great teacher, and a student who is willing to listen and learn, All things are possible. Thanks for making my job so easy. I was frustrated until I found your video. Works better than new. I appreciate you making this video.
I’ve been looking for this fix for years. Took me 30 seconds to fix. Thanks
Over the moon that I've been able to fix mine with your help. Budget would not allow for a new one.
Listen, I followed your instructions and my sprayer got fixed THANK YOU!!!!!!!NOW MY ROACHES WILL DIE TONIGHT!
This just saved me a trip to town and a purchase of a new sprayer. Thank you so much! I wish there was a super thanks option for this video because I would definitely give support
Works way better than new! I have a few of these sprayers (eg., 1 for fungicide, 1 for weed prevention, etc) and I’m going to service all of them like this! Thanks for posting!
My new sprayer was not working at all, and doing this solved it! Thanks for the video!
This video just saved my day. Lol. Thanks a ton! UA-cam + tutorial makers are under rated. Sharing knowledge and “how to” is awesome. I’ve thrown away MANY a sprayers. Lol.
Thank you! I just got mine and was looking at the maintenance section and was so confused about how to release the locking collar. I wanted to see what it looked like while it was new. My new unit has a ton of lubricant on it! The instructions say petroleum jelly is ok. Also, thanks for showing how to reassemble it - also not obvious from the instructions. Great video - this is a keeper!
THANKS MATE!!! I've thrown these away in the past but this time I thought that someone would know how to fix these sprayers. I'm also glad you mentioned the silicon grease. I wasn't sure how important it is. Now I'm off to buy some grease and fix my sprayer.
I tried and tried to fix my little sprayer until i came across this! Fixed at last at no cost and btw, i used plain old vaseline! Yay 👍
Absolutely genius! Did exactly what you said, back up and running again in a few minutes!! Thanks again so much 😁
Mine had tons of resistance trying to pump and made screeching noises. Using your video I greased the inside and the pump works fantastically now. Thanks for the awesome video
The fix principles applied easily to another version. Excellent video
Just on my way to buy yet another sprayer when I saw a review about your "how to" video. I will do this first. Thanks so much!
Thank you!!! I started a pressure washing business and have literally bought 10 sprayers over this past year. They have all stopped working. Luckily I saved them and am going through fixing each one. You just saved me a bunch of money!
Thank you for the very helpful video. Cheers from the Far East.
I see so many of these throw away for that simple reason. Great video.
Thank you so much, just fixed my pressure sprayer rather than buying another one.
Thank you for a very well presented and easy fix for this problem! 👍👍👍
Thank you so much for this video! I'd just received a Chapin sprayer from Amazon and it would not hold any pressure if I moved the pump handle side-by-side at all. I'd hear it burp the air out. I'd taken it apart and found your video and decided to lube it. There was barely any around the rubber ring and none under the valve. I had only petroleum grease but I decided to do it right and bought some silicone grease. I didn't want to worry about the rubber getting eaten away over time by petroleum grease.
Anyway, it works perfectly now!

I have a solo 406 and it happened to me after a month of use, i found out that the seal was still there but it was not grease anymore, glad i found this video it saved me couple of buck!
Excellent info, thanks a million!
I was about to go back to the store to purchase a new one.
Thank you🙏 I was on my way to chunk this thing in the garbage and just decided to try to see if I could find anything online to help 🧐 this was exactly what I needed and now it works fine again 💪🙌🥰
thank you! was just about to head to Home Depot for a new sprayer.
Thank you so much for this video. I had instructions but it always helps to see how it's done. Now I can get my sprayer working again.

from so cal
thank you! the breakdown was very helpful.
Man thank you so much. I think it’s gonna allow me to fix my sprayer. I’m gonna go ahead and order the parts. Thank you.😊
Excellent video! It helped me fix the same issue on a different 3l pump sprayer. More than saving up about £15 for a replacement I'm all for a good #Repairdontwaste fix 😊
Thnx alot best explanation and tutorial ever, i've seen alot and this is the best
Thank you for going through the trouble to show what could cause it not to have pressure...mine is fairly new I used it once...then no pressure,I only it on my basement walls to bleach them down to cur down mold and smell...thanks for your video
Excellent instructions. Easy fix. Thank you very much! I owe you a beer!
Thanks I was already going to buy a new one, took mine apart and the seal was just halfway off put it back and lubed it working like new 👍🏻
Thanks for this! Thought mine was broken but works a treat now
Thanks for the info fam, it worked perfectly💪🏻!!
you just save me man, thanks
Cool, This is EXACTLY what mine is doing. Gonna try it and because of YOU, it should work! THANKS a million!!
Thank you so much for your video. You absolutely saved me from purchasing another pump sprayer.
Thanks so much! I was about to trash mine and buy another. Hope this is what is wrong with mine.
Interesting, someone had donated a nice pump and the only issue was the pump followed this video and noticed the rubber seal on the inside was missing least now i know how to repair it. Thank you
This worked perfectly! Thank you! and like you said... it works better now!
Worked like a charm.. Thanks a ton for saving my money on yet another sprayer..
Thank you! I have come to depend on my sprayer and didn’t want to have to replace it!
Awesome a very helpful information. Thank you so much for sharing this fix with us. 😉
Your solution worked perfectly. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this video! It was what I was looking for!!!
Thank you, very clear explanation.
Just did both of mine today. Thanks for the video , it really is easy to do. 👍
Excellent explanation and dimastration
Thank you! Fixed one tank thanks to these instructions. Now if you can tell me how to fix a brand new one with a valve I used before I fixed the other one! I got an exchange two years ago for the same problem and hadn’t used it until now. This one I needed to pump every minute and weird that the spray wand didn’t shut off when I stopped pressing it. I would be grateful for suggestions. Valve is on closed position…
Thank you, your instructions worked!!
Genius! thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for the vid! I stupidly left my sprayer outside and it rained heavy. Afterwards the sprayer just wouldnt pressurise and i had to spray glyphosate over my lawn to kill it lol.
But i just followed ya vid and its working perfectly! So thank you
Only thing i did differently was use vasiline instead of silicone grease as i dont have any 😅😅 probably wont hold up as long but it definitely did the trick!
I fixed mine using Vaseline grease I had in my bathroom lol because I didn’t have what you was using. It still worked so I could finish my tasks
Nice dude, thanks just what i was lookin for
Very helpful! Thank you
AWESOME THANK YOU FOR SHARING SAVED ME SOME MONEY!!! 💸💸💸✌️
Thank you for this!
helped me fix mine by reminding me how to open the lid. very useful!
Very clearly explained. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much. You fixed my problem!!!
Excellent video, exactly what happened to my sprayer, works perfect now. Thanks for the quality content
Excellent. Quick easy fix. Thank you!
Thank you ❤️ that did the trick!!
Awesome, just what I needed. Mine is still under warranty though, but I like fixing things. What to do? Lol! 😀 Thanks!
The gasket was loose where the hose goes in on my sprayer. Every time I pumped, you could hear the air shooting out.
Silicone (the same stuff I put on my treadmill) fixed the problem immediately.
Thank you.
Thank you for making this tutorial 😁
Awesome information. On tomorrow’s to do list!
Die-electrial lube is also silicon grease. Read the contents
You're amazing!! Thank you for the help!!
thank you for the video. with all the useless sht on youtube present, this video is worth the bandwidth. i figured beforehand it would be something simple, but not this simple.
good video.
So frustrating!! About to try this fix - thanks so much.
Thank you for this!! You saved me!!
Thanks very useful
Thank you for the video.
My problem is a little bit different, my sprayer does pump good but no water out, even mist, I found a piece of rubber but bigger then the one you show, don't know where to place it !?
Do you know other rubbers may loose too !?
I have two non-spraying sprayers. 😣 I'm going to try your tip to fix them. Thank you!
Thank you so much, you are a lifesaver
Thank you so much!
Thanks. It's a very good video.
I have a newish sprayer that doesn't give much spray. I forgot about this. I'll check. Thank you!
