    Great ideas. I really like the idea of tracing the signature with paint. Especially, if a pen isn't available.

    Thank you for bringing up this issue. I have people disappointed because there is no signature or date. Don't know why I don't. Now I will, and I won't make the mistake of using my pen.

    Question: Does the white sharpie oil based marker work for signing on mixed media drawings that uses the mediums prismacolor colored pencils/markers, oil pastels, crayola crayons, regular permanent color sharpies...?

    • @DevinsArtistry
      @DevinsArtistry  4 роки тому +2

      It should work over colored pencil, oil pastels, permanent sharpies but any waxed based mediums like crayons would reject the oil paint.

    Devin, a great video! I've been struggling with my signature in general due to carpal tunnel on my writing hand. As for the signature, it looks like your only signing your first name. Mine is Wendy.
    I have been working on a nice signature as for mine looks like a straight line that has been curved on both ends. With both my watercolor and pencil artwork, I would like to have my viewers and possibly buyers, know who I am.
    I can do this with a ball black pen. Does it make sense to use this?
    Also with the date, should I use the exact date, like, 8-20-2020?
    Thanks!

    • @DevinsArtistry
      @DevinsArtistry  4 роки тому +2

      It’s totally up to you. My last name is really really long so I find it doesn’t look great on the painting I would only recommend whatever you do you stick with it and no change it.

    • @DevinsArtistry
      @DevinsArtistry  4 роки тому

      Also I would stay away from ink pens unless it’s on the rear I don’t think it would have the staying power and may fade. For the date on the rear I normally just put the month and year. IE November 2020

    Thank you for this video! I was looking for tips on how to sign my paintings as I can sign with pen or pencil but not a brush. My question is (1) does the oil base sharpie work fine with oil paintings? (2) What about the date, do we put the date next/under our name or in the back of the painting? Thank you, have a nice night!

    On resin paintings, it was hard for me to figure out what to sign with,. I found at hobby lobby a product called SILVER MARKER by Pilot, and GOLD MARKER, also by Pilot. Do you know if it lasts? It doesn’t say if it is oil or not. Just permanent. ?

    • @DevinsArtistry
      @DevinsArtistry  3 роки тому

      I do not believe they are paint markers so you may still have the fading on them but not entirely sure. You want to look for any marker that is labeled "paint" it can be oil or acrylic.
