Marked didn’t capture the historical residential streets at night. Most homeowners have accent lighting on their homes and their landscaping which really is Jaw dropping amazing!
We don't doubt that Raymond. Our current lenses, however, have limited functionality in low light. We'd rather avoid the low light shots altogether than present some grainy, sub-par video.
Hi Mr Guido. Once again, we really enjoyed your video on Savannah, Georgia. We really appreciate the use of drones. This allows us to have an overview. It makes much more complete and interesting videos Thanks again..
Thank you Denis! Drones often provide a perspective when you can't tell the story any other way. We love having ours for those situations, when we're able to use it. Sometimes landowner restrictions or even wind conditions keep us from doing so. For example, as I type this we're in a Florida State Park where drone use is prohibited. We planned to get around that by launching and landing from our kayak on the water adjacent to the park; however, this morning's wind conditions are preventing that, too.
I always found it humbling to walk around Civil War battlefields. You really feel like you are walking through history. Both campgrounds looked great. We would have gone for the McAllister campground, but then, we aren’t worried about satellite signal either. The seafood festival looked fun. I can imagine the great food. Thanks for sharing. Ram 👍🏼👍🏽
We have been to Savanah once but like to go again. So much to see and learn. Thanks. As always, we appreciate the historical facts you share with us. Good job!
I have driven through Georgia, I admit I didn't really stop to investigate any areas. Lots of history, some not so good.... That seafood festival looked fantastic.... Different topic, snowing in Idaho.
Yep, my beloved Alta has already received 106" to date, and the season doesn't even open for another couple of weeks! Keep it coming. History may not always be pretty, but it's always fascinating and provides many lessons for the present.
Hard to balance being in a packed campground and being near a popular city. Shame the State Park couldn't work for you. You make us want to give Georgia another visit!! Thanks as always, the 2 Tasmanians in Murfreesboro Tennessee heading home to Australia next week for summer.
Have a safe trip back Leigh! It is indeed a tricky balance sometimes. Right now we're in a gorgeous state park with pristine undeveloped beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, whereas the remainder of the shoreline here is full of high-rise condos. It's like two different worlds. We specifically included the campground at Fort McAllister in the video precisely for those folks not bound by the same restrictions we face, for it's positively gorgeous.
Thanks Marc. That was a completely different dynamic than the Fort Sumter surrender, you reported on last week. They were simply outgunned this week. Brick fortifications just don't make it. They needed heavy iron plating backed by iron reinforced concrete... together with long range mortars to take out the attacking ships. They didn't have either and were not prepared. Cannons on embattlements are line of sight and can be taken out with enough fire power. However, mortars can be hidden and protected. Standard mortar ball is pretty hard to hit a moving ship. But if they fired molten lead and iron debris they can cause the wooden ships to burn with just a few pieces hitting the targets... especially if they had sails. This is actually a very old technique that the Romans used on their galleys at close range. But perfecting the technique at longer range might have saved some of the ports. You must be a Civil war buff, as you have hit a few Civil War naval historic sites along the east coast. Downtown Savannah is really beautiful to take in. There is really allot of period architecture to see. And I loved seeing the lower level historic warf area of Savannah. You had allot to cover and I would have enjoyed seeing more of the things that were only briefly viewed. I felt that this was more of a taster than a review. We got lots of cannons though and that helped😉!🤣💨 Gord
Another fascinating insight, Gord -- thank you for that. I've truly never been a Civil War buff in the strictest sense of the word. However, you know that I love history in all its forms. These sites just happen to coincide with our chosen destinations this year down the eastern seaboard. As for the depth of content, we face challenges at this time of year when the days get shorter. We only have one full day per week to explore: Saturdays. Otherwise, we do all of our filming and exploration after business hours as I'm working from the RV Monday-Friday. When the days get shorter, that minimizes our midweek opportunities -- especially after the clock shift to Standard Time.
Georgia is a state I have not camped in yet although I have visited. The state park campground is on my list. I do stay at KOAs when traveling and I would stay at this KOA is the state park is full. Very nice job on the video.

Looking forward to your ventures into another beautiful destination...St Augustine, one of our favorites also. Safe journey Mark!
Have you walked the historic residential streets at sundown, if you catch it just right, the homeowners a lot of them have accent lighting on many of the homes and oak trees. That makes it really spectacular!
Thanks for this video Mark. I was stationed at nearby Fort Stewart in the mid 80s. This brings back some memories. I hope to travel back with my RV there next year. You should check out Jekyll Island. It’s an amazing island and history.
Yeah really nice campground towards the northern part of the island! Yeah it’s also the home of the originals Globalist agenda as it’s called today! Aka WEF
We ran out of time on this visit to get to Jeckyll Island on this stop, Bob, but we have it earmarked for a future visit. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your service!

It's definitely worthy of a week, Joe.
Another grand adventure. Fun fact: One of the earliest known photographs of a baseball game was taken inside Fort Pulaski during the civil war
Very cool, did not know that! Thanks so much for sharing that tidbit.
Savannah is such a beautiful city. It was very easy to get very lost in before cell phones too. Scott said he'd never go back. 😂
Try Boston. 😄 Their streets were built to follow whatever paths the cows wandered, and cows aren't well known for their navigation skills.
Seafood festivals OH yum!!!!
They seem to be an autumn tradition across the SE US coast.
Lived in the Carolinas for years but never made it down to Savannah. It's on our list now. Thanks for the video. Safe travels.
