Considering the price, it is a good alternative to Sony 50mm f/1.8 indeed. I was expecting your next review would be the Panasonic S9. It seems Panasonic forgot to invite you!
Thanks. Panasonic did not feel my presence would be beneficial at the S9 launch event😀 I hope to get the camera in my hands some day because it's definitely interesting.
@@mattisulanto but that is kind of possitive feedback for you. you have time to retest all m43 cameras on the market till they provide you something to test 😉.
@@mattisulanto The new compact Panasonic Lumix S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 Lens would be even more interesting. Unfortunately, it was not available when S9 was launched.
Hi Matti, very nice photo walk and great compositions with light and shade and l liked the Cappuccino Coffee. This budget TT Artisan lens worked exactly how a budget lens should work, it worked very well and I was impressed by it's performance. Thanks Matti. 😊
Thanks. Yeah, I got a bit obsessed with those reflections because I find a short tele so hard to use for that kind of photography. The reflections seemed to work a little bit.
I am going to get mine today. I have used the TT ARTISAN AF27, AF35. They are good and very satisfying to shoot with. I am returning the AF27 lens to exchange with the AF56 due to the AF27 rear lens cap design flaws.
You must use tele Lenses more 😉For a new lens it may be good value (if it can be used for more than two years !). I would get a used Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8 T* ZA which I saw in my local store for $363 in good condition, there was even one that "have had a hard life" for $180. I have had the Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8 T* ZA for 5 years now, I am very happy with it, I use it both as a full frame Lens and a APSC Lens, that you cannot do with the TTArtisan lens.
I mostly use standard lenses these days but I'd like a short telephoto for occasional use so I'll seriously consider this lens. Can you set up the camera to use the focusing ring to set the aperture. I would guess not but it's worth asking. Having said that I've tried it with Nikon Z lenses and it's almost unusable. It's too sensitive to use accurately and is easily knocked out of place so I just gave up on it.
It seems that at least Sony does not have the option to customize the focus ring but I can't be sure of Fuji or Nikon. Anyway, for that price it's a really good lens.
Loved the review Is it possible if I want smooth focusing with this lens. Say for example, I have a subject kept on a table,50cms away from the lens.. then I slowly take it away all the way to 1.5 mtrs(or the other way), will it be able to hold up the focus? (with ZV E10) can you please test that if possible, I am planning to get this for food videography. What do you suggest? Thanks!
Thanks. With the A6700 the AF works very well and holds the focus if the camera or the subject is moving back and forth. I can't say anything about the ZV-E10 because I don't own that.
I’ve seen this lens pop up a lot on my feed and the more I see it, the more I find it interesting. The algorithm is doing its job. Question: if you use a 75mm crop would this lens still be worth getting? Also, how is the autofocus in video mode? Does it have a stm-like motor in it? Fuji x user here.
I tested the Sony version so I can’t say much about the Fuji version. Sony does not have a 75mm crop either. I’m not sure what the focus motor is but usually these cheap lenses have a stepper motor.
Following on from your Astrhori review a few days ago, I wonder whether the various Chinese budget lens manufacturers all have their own factories or whether there's a huge factory making lenses for many companies. That seems to be the way Chinese industry works.
I don't know that but I guess it's possible. After all we can see that everywhere and not only in Chinese industry. Based on my experience with Chineses lenses I'd say the quality is very decent most of the time. I very seldom come across such a bad lens as the AstrHori 85mm.
nice to see images from Finland once again matti. is it the light because of your northern latitude or the way the light bounces off the city architecture in Finland. not sure but I really like it. zen billings in canada

Recently got this lens, and it’s super sharp. Works like a charm for portraits, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
So happy to hear you like the lens.
Im using sony zv e10 and im beginner. Which one do you recommended TT artisan 56mm f1.8 or 35mm f1.8 for beginner like me?
If you need a short telephoto lens, buy the 56mm. If you need a standard lens, buy the 35mm.
@@mattisulanto do 35mm can shoot portait and reduce nice bokeh?
Image quality seemed pretty good.
Yes, it is pretty good!😀

That upcoming zoom also looks very interesting but first we have to see what it really is.
I have the TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 for mft and it works well. The only thing I don‘t like about it is the screw on lens cap! Thanks for the video!

what design flaw are you talking about? I was looking into getting one for the nikon z mount
Is this a full frame lens? And are all of the photos from an APS-C camera?
Please, watch the video first.
Ah, the first time I watched was with captions.
Did you shoot this on the Panasonic? haha. Nice to see some blue skies there, Matti! :)
I shot these blue skies on the Sony😀
