"Have to wear overalls". NO. No they don't. Where I work we have lathes and saws running all day and I come home with swarf in my hair and on my chest and nobody worries about overalls. We have buckets full of swarf every day. But I get your the kind of guy to wear overalls and put on gloves to do gardening.
@@CryHarryLetLooseTheDogsOfWar No, engineer's blue is layout fluid. The material here is a water-soluble mask that protects the surface you don't want to polish.
But you can’t program a robot to set the movement. We are far, far away from that. Even then I think the market is still willing to pay for the craftsmanship involved!
Except those guys were planting rice or selling cheap underwear at the markets 2 months ago. It takes MINIMUM 6 months to learn polishing professionally. That's before you even START to get good.
To be honest, i would like to hear this from a polishing worker, not a snobbish dude reading a script...
"polishing cannot be taught, nor can it be learned" lmao what
@@steved4677 My thoughts exactly
@@steved4677 the floor is made up of floor
Ahahahahah 😂
Sure but isn't nice to hear the "snobbish dude" giving all the credit to the polisher?
Do we need a credit check to watch this video?
When a watch snob voice over polishing processes without knowing anything about polishing-as long as it sounds out of reach it does the job😂😂
Yes like with everything it’s bs way of selling overprice stuff 😂
love this job
So, You're a master polisher eh? 😘🤙

anybody knows what kind blue chemical to protect d watch?
I dont thick its protecting the watch, the pink and blue is used to judge the brushing of the case, so when the paint comes off, you know its brushed
Its called “engineers blue”. Its widely used in the machining industry.

It's a masking lacquer called Protec-H Horloger Rouge. Hard to find in the US, but there's a similar product made by Caswell.
What is that blue thing he is painting
lacquer
He's say's, "wearing overalls" like its horrid thing LMFAO! Reminds me of a character on the tv show Frasier.
didnt expect nick foulkes and was happily surprised;)
Un excelente video. ¿Alguien conoce la musica ? Es muy hermosa..
Saludos @Thomas
La musica es Enchanted por Altitude music.
I’m a polisher, and all ill say is ‘try it’. 😂
You just need the right equipment.
Please tell music name
The music is Enchanted by Altitude music.
@@Jose-zt5lu oh thank you
He is full of it. Most of this could be done by machine.
I bet you i can program a robot to do this
But you can’t program a robot to set the movement. We are far, far away from that. Even then I think the market is still willing to pay for the craftsmanship involved!
But that isn't the point of it..
I'd bet every penny I have to say you can't do this with a robot and do it better than a skilled watchmaker.
definitely not. It's like comparing a pianola to a concert pianist. Without the human there's no art.
Nope because every situation is different, once again internet expert has no clue what he's talking about.
I had one of them watches and it fell apart..
the chinese one?
Yeah. Wouldn't be a genuine one at about $80 thousand each. You can buy the fakes in india.
I'll give you juice, I'll give you shower, soda water!
chinese knockoffs have the same level of polishing and they dont brag about it:)))))))))
No, not really
There is a comparison between the Nautilus and it's "clone", and you will notice the difference.

Polishing is always off in reps
Even AAA grade reps have bad polishing
nope.
I'll stick with my cal 400 thanks
"Polishing cannot be taught, nor can it be learned. It has to be absorbed". What a verbose pretentious stream of drivel.
Fingerspitzengefühl
BS, look how good the Chinese knock offs are! To ahead if you want a watch for the price of a car, or a house!
FOR ONE THING THE PATEK "NAUTILUS" IS IN NO WAY OF THE LEVEL OF THE GRAND SEIKO SPRING DRIVE. THE GRAND SEIKO IS FAR SUPERIOR THAN THE PETEK!
Whatever. Souped up Seiko versus $80 thousand dollar swiss watch....
keep going fanboy, GS is shit
Grand Seiko is a sect, good watches but nothing crazy. you guys don’t know anything about watches...
Of course. GS is better than anything. We all know :) Why in caps?
