How to remove stuck/rusted wheel hub and bearing on Toyota Corolla - DIY removal tip - 2003-2008

- The rear hub/bearing assembly was stuck on my 2005 Toyota Corolla. It was rusted on and wouldn't budge with sledge hammer even after heating with cutting torch. I was able to remove it myself with a few bolts, washers, and nuts - saved me $500 or more. In this video I show and explain the process.

Nice job, this is the way to do it! A dab of oil on the threads of your bolts where the nut is will help a lot.
Thats the ticket! Plus, to find out if it is the Bearing thats bad, Grab a hold of the spring, the coil spring and rotate the hub or tire. If you feel grinding through the spring ,thats what it is. Easy way to find out. UPDATE: I just went out and took it all apart. I took off all the brake stuff and spun the wheel bearing and held onto the spring. There was no grinding felt this time. So, That method does not work. It was smooth. I could have left the bearing on but since i had it half way i decided to change it. Using the bolt method to pry the bearing out worked good. Got dark on me and the mosquitos were bad. Finish up day tomorrow. I found a calipher pin that was stuck-frozen. Got to clean out that cavity somehow and regrease. Maybe paint the Backing plate after i grind of some rust. Michigan is bad on rust ,especially the rear of the vehicle.
Made changing the rear hubs on my 2008 toyota camry so much easier. Thank you. PB blaster helps wonders if you end up removing the parking brake assembly. got it off in about an hour if not less.
