Most games when a character's health hits 0: oh, god... i'm- *coughs up blood* g-going to die.. Ikenfell when a party member literally gets impaled and their health hits 0: *That shit hurted, imma sit for a minute*
From some of the footage I saw your characters have free movement until their attack within their movement range. That seems like a very comfortable feature. Reminds me of the many regrettable one half-frame misclicks in xcom
The default timing for getting a Great is a huge pain in the ass, and it feels really inconsistent. I didn't know there was an option to adjust the window for that timing. I'm going to mess with that a bit.
I got absolutely rinsed by the final boss. Looking at the healthcare doesn't help when you go in under-prepped and realize said boss also spawns a shit ton of mooks to fight you.
1:11 Oh, you mean like a *linear* experience? Yeah, that used to be game standard back in the day. The games from Japan did at least let you choose yes or no, though.
Yeah, weird gripe. Is this reviewer not familiar with the style of RPG this is based on? In JRPGs back in the day, whenever you chose 'no' the NPCs would just complain until you said 'yes' lol.
Hi I thought I just try it again, do Gilda? and the main char end up together? This somehow seems to be a question no one ever wants to answer. I at least figured a part of it out. I just got to read somewhere that they don't ?
played this game on gamepass and i really didn't know about that instant victory stuff or making the game auto complete timing windows. i really wished i did because jesus those fights were a pain in the ass. i probably would have had a better time of it but i powered through. aside from that the game is pretty straightforward, the MC is pretty OP so i kept her in the party at all times since she could boost her damage and had good movement and AoE. the others i used was the painter girl and the lighting chick. lightning chick to boost the speed of MC plus she had a spell that could reach the back so pretty handy. painter girl just gave AoE regen which allowed me to do some damage with her. the story is well, magical school stuff so expect some harry potter parallels. funnily enough, MC's sister and her friends felt like harry, ron, and heromine and you'd get these snippets of their previous adventures that made me want to experience that than the main story. i really think the tedium of the combat ruined the game for me made doubly annoying when it took forever to defeat the final boss. like i was an hour in praying to god i didn't die and i did jesus i cried and wanted to just uninstall. but i eventually beat it by grinding for awhile and praying even harder. overall i'd give it a 9.3 out of 10. it has a little something for everyone.
There’s an auto complete (perfect or good rolls every time) you can use to do all fights with ease. There’s also an instant victory if you don’t wanna play the game to play the game
Wait, so it is a Linear story game that let's you just skip the combat? Why even have combat then? Just commit to puzzle and story if you are going to do that.
Some people want the story without the combat. Some people want the added challenge of the combat. Why not appease both by having the combat be optional?
I cant wrap my head around why some people would buy video games but not want to play the video game. I also dont like the implication it has for developers to consider story and gameplay as separate independant parts, or gameplay having no narrative significance (without dropping the big L-word).
Just a random thought, but I don't like instant victory buttons, not even if it makes the game more accessible or avoids grinding. It just demotivates me to continue on. Why play the game if the game offers to play itself?
it's completely optional, you have to manually turn it on in settings so it isn't really available in the "base game" (similar to celeste's assist mode, both are completely optional and meant only for players who want to use it). if you don't want to use the option, then there's no need to turn it on!
@@Crispman_777 No, call me petty but Im demotivated by it becouse I dont like doing all that work for the game when some other noob gonna beat the game in half the time couse he set the game on easy. And I like when platinums are hard, not available on easy etc
There’s a lot of woke stuff in this game which really bothered me, but if you get past that it’s a great game. Art is great, great music, and unique enemies. Just wish there was a way to make enemies respawn faster to grind some xp
Ngl, and this is probably a side effect of terrible game journalism these days, but this game looks woke af, which is a huge turn off. Can someone give me a woke rating from 1 to 10 with 1 being postal 2 and 10 being Tacoma

huh I always assumed it was eye-ken-fell
In the song "Paint the Future" by Sammus on the soundtrack, it's Ick-en-fell, so I went with that.
It is eye-ken-fell. That’s how they pronounce it in the trailer.
