Jecht: "I'll find a way to break the cycle" And he fucking did it. If it weren't for him events of FFX would never have happened. Ohhh how I wish we got a prequel to see the story of Jecht going from a cocky, arrogant athlete to an understanding, heartfelt person/ father who's willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good
It's actually planned in a bizarre way, FFX-2 is planned to be the dads trio story before scrapped and replaced with Yuna's story. Well what do you think of seeing Braska in a gunner dresssphere? Also the reason why scrapped because the main party without any female characters are too lame, so they tried to use Yuna as the lead character and made it a group inspired by Charlie's Angels.
Auron was hopelessly zealous in following Yevon's teachings until he realized they would cost him his comrades for an ultimately futile endeavor. Ironically, everything Jecht hated about Auron would disappear with along with him into the Final Aeon.
If you think about it Jecht actually did find a way to break the cycle. Sin was AT ZANARKAND. The same place where summoners went to get the Final Aeon. But when there was no Final Aeon Sin left.
Not only that, but when Jecht acted as Sin, he must have took some kind of control to make sure that 1) Auron got Tidus out of Dream Zanarkand 2) Encounter Tidus enough times to escalate him to find an alternate solution. Jecht's partial control of Sin and his influence over Tidus's course lead to the eventual discovery of an alternative way to defeat Sin
Very few games can give me chills and make my hair stand up the way ffx does, and this game was made only a couple years after ocarina of time was released on the 64, that is just beyond incredible to me. Brilliance. Changed my life.
My headcanon is due to Jecht being a Dream person he managed to have some control while being Sin. Then, he used that to control to attack Zanarkand and bring Tidus to Spira. He knew Tidus had some personal characteristics like stubborness to make other not to follow the intended rules, so he might influentiate some random summoner to not follow the Final Aeon path.
That makes sense why he may have retain his will after all this time. It’s seriously impressive Jecht planned so far back and is able to maintain his sense of self for a long time
The older, cynical, neurotic Auron slashing away at the younger, idealistic, faint-hearted Auron. This scene gets me every time. I think the scene represents an older man’s inability to accept that they were once young and foolish. A pathological propensity towards taking full responsibility for everything they had ever come in contact with. It’s basically moral scrupulosity, a form of OCD.
Love that part, and it means so much more to me now at 35. Pains me to say this, but I can relate to the wiser jaded person looking back and hating their younger naive idealistic self who set out on some ambition and failed. Auron gave his life… for nothing. Like he says earlier, “I wanted to change the world. But I changed nothing. That is my story.”
I dont care what anybody says, FFX is the best in the series. It needs the dame love that FFVII gets. Please Square, give us a proper remake and prequel.
I would have loved a Prequel game about those 3, instead we got spice girls 2 and a novel part 3 written on cocaine. The story from a prequel with Jecht, Auron and Braska would have been incredible, and man would it end with a heart breaking tear jerker due to how bad it ends for everyone. Braska Dies after Yu Yevon takes over Jecht, using him to kill Braska against his will. Then Jecht realizes he becomes the new Sin and has to keep doing this for years to come, likely killing thousands of innocents, as well as multiple summoners and their guardians who come to challenge him. And Auron who is broken after all this goes to face Yunalesca for revenge, only to get struck down, crawls his way back to MT Gagazet only to die after being taken to a safe place by Rin. His lingering regrets attaching to pyreflies so he becomes an unsent.
@@kevinzhong7493 just a joke thrown out by the developers. Basically came out during an interview when someone mentioned how in X-2 there’s Shinra, the boy who works with the gullwings, and wants to go on to harness energy from the farplane after seeing Vegnagun do so. It draws parallels to how in VII there’s the Shinra power company which harness power from the planet.
@@SoaringxDragon nope it's TRUE, its found in the FFX-2 ultimania, and if you've played FF7 remake, there is a Shinra (ff10-2) easter egg when you walk through Shinra building (museum section). There is a group photo of the first ShinRa staff, and in that photo you'll see a figure wearing a mask similar to Shinra from FF10-2. Making the 10-2 x 7 connection confirmed.
@@Cloofinder No it was actually a joke between the developers, and think how it would make sense ? Spira and Gaia doesn’t have the same map, and where are the Ancient in 10 ? 2000 years ago the event of 7, there was a meteor too.
How horrendous for Auron, watching his two friends voluntarily walk to their deaths, and then ten years later having to relive it all over again.

YES! he did it 100% indirectly, but he did come up with his own plan to defeat sin forever using his son

Tidus shows what happens when you continue fighting despite all odds.
Like Kamina from Gurren Lagann but less awesome
@@RockSmithStudio Unlike Kamina, Tidus/Shuyin actually managed to change and save the world. So... who's really less awesome?
Jecht’s laugh after saying “I’ll think of something” is sad knowing what happened afterwards.
He did find the solution though. He brought his son to Spira.
Thanks for uploading this video. It's still moving after all these years.
I’m loving this game it’s my favorite RPG I’m playing it now as a 24 year old. I’ll be 25 in 7 days

I think he gets angry because he hates himself for not being capable of stopping what was inevitably going to happen.

This. It honestly gets me more than the games ending.
Yeah, but Auton changed everything,

Damn, I thought Yunalesca was attractive as a kid. But as an adult she is somehow sexier now lol.
Jecht did find a way. He basically colluded with Auron while he was Sin to go to dream zanarkand and get Tidus to come to spira and kill him
Which is who Auron was talking to right before dropping Tidus.
Thanks for uploading these.
For some reason, I remembered Auron losing his shit being longer and angrier
Same
He did break the cycle. He went to dream Zanarkand and brought Tidus to Spira to end it.

Very sad Auron...
i love this scene
Auron looks way too much like Jeff Goldblum, anyone else notice that back in 2002.
