Grew up in Gerrards Cross, way back in the day. Haven't been back since 2004, it was great to see my old stomping ground, brought back awesome memories! Was trying to see my old house on Lower rd, but I don't think you made it that far. Hopeful to bring my family there some day (now living in the US). Cheers!
Really good video. Great demo of how stable the mount is toward the end as the only way I was able to see how the drone was flying was from the shadow in the video. I've just got my first quad so I'm still learning, and it gives some incentive to see what can be achieved with the right kit and skills. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the kind words. Since filming this I've learned that flying over a town like that is a little against CAA regulations so I wouldn't encourage doing it. But yup, the right gear with a good camera gimbal can give some incredibly stable video footage :-)
petegower Wow be careful! There's currently a full no fly zone in effect over a lot of South Wales and some of South West England and the military will go nuts if they catch you flying a UAV inside it. But I'm not sure it extends down onto the gower: www.fpvuk.org/files/EG_Circ_2014_M_081_en_2014-08-07.pdf
@@solarisfire An update Stephen. Haven't things have come a long way since I posted the above comment. I had a Flamewheel 450 and 550 and still fly them occasionally. I also had a Mavic Air 2 and a DJI Mini 2. You probably already know, the Mini 2 is a really nice machine to fly and as long as you pay attention to the no fly zones around airports ETC, you can use it anywhere. I still fly the 450 and 550 and I shall have to sort out some FPV kit to put on them. I can see that Gerrards Cross is on the edge of the Denham airport, which did not exist when you did this video. Just hope you're still getting the alerts when someone posts something. This video was one of the ones which inspired me to pursue the hobby.
I eventually got a Blade 350, just after Christmas. I was impressed by how much easier it is to fly with GPS and IOC. I also bought a cheap £60.00 gimbal which does a pretty good job. I've just received a DJI F550 with Naza lite, and a Spektrum DX6i., so I'm going to put that together over the weekend. I've always liked the look of yours, and a pal on one of the forums is a fan as well. How much work is involved in setting it up? There seem to be plenty of links to help on the WWW. BTW what battery are you using? Thanks again.
