Progressive education is demonstrated through many "experiential" or "practical" modes of teaching and learning. Project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and other collaborative learning movements have all stemmed from Dewey's approach.
Curricular models that push group cooperation, student-led projects, classroom behavior models that de-center lecturing/the teacher as the primary mode of teaching. Students role in the classroom (or learning setting) is largely altered so as to be more self-directed, reflective, and "hands-on" relative to a traditional schooling approach.(my undergrad opinion)
