    here’s something they can study...
    Discord.
    the god of chaos.
they could write 30 books just on what he did before he was stoned alone.
    they stay in ponyvile
and we get more discord lore.
    everyone wins.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Plus, they wouldn't even need to track him down, he would just love the attention and stay around.

i don't think discord would do that well not as much you might think.
since being redeemed by fluttershy he actually made a effort to better himself.
he helped the mane 6 and the princesss's turn the mean 3 into stone...
after uniting them in the first place.
he might give them false information that's sprinkled with some truth.
or they could have fluttershy back up the information because he would never lie to her again... for the 3rd time and she would be able to tell what is and isn't a lie.

I'm just glad they're back, it seems Hasbro is finally listening to the fans. I think most of the season 9 episodes besides episode 200 were either ideas or fanfics thought up by fans. I've been avoiding the early episode leaks on UA-cam for season 9 because it's the last season and I really wanna be surprised. It's really hard considering the rumors that we've heard before season 9 started. And right now I'm really worried about Discord, which is something I never thought I'd ever say. They better make an episode explaining his behavior before the season's done.

While I enjoyed this CMC episode, “Crusaders of the Lost Mark” is still my favorite one of all. But, “The Last Crusade” is special in its own way and I respect the way this story was handled. From Scootaloo’s parents debut to the CMC Appreciation Day ceremony, this is a very good episode overall.

This was pretty great conclusion to the CMC story arc. Their arc has been one that I was kind of meh about in the beginning of the series, but it later grew into one of the more engaging ones for me as the series went on, especially when we hit Crusaders of the Lost Mark. I was really, really hoping we'd get to see Scootaloo's parents in the show before it ended, and I'm glad we did, and got a good explanation as to why they aren't around. Also, I absolutely loved seeing every single character the CMCs helped all at once in that last scene. It really puts into perspective how far they've come.

Cards on the table: when I first joined the fandom at the very beginning, I thought the CMC's were annoying as sin (the talent show episode really cringed; it has grown on me overtime). Seasons go by their stories became some of the most endearing of the series, especially Crusaders of the Lost Mark.
While not on the exact same chord as that episode (the songs helped a ton), this was a very fitting conclusion to the CMC's long journey. Another end to the era. Kudos to the Cutie Mark Crusaders, may they forever live on in our hearts.

I really wanted them to say something like the CMCs being closer to Scoot than the parents were in a sense. Or RD saying she was like family. Because they really are. It's also no doubt Scoot spent more time with them than the parents, despite how much she also loves them. The fact that RD, takes time out of her life, to look after Scoots in place of actual family members? Should have definitely brought it up more. Though it was nice that RD seemed quite passionate about the ordeal by the end.

15:00 This was actually a good idea... if it was a FUSION potion.
-> As the *Alicorn of Cutiemarks* ; "they" would technically also be _"in charge of Destiny"_ ; so *they* would decide whatever they want to do and where...
Also, the simple fact that 2/3 of _their_ components live in Ponyville would outweight any "demands" Scootaloo´s Parent may have [simply because Applebloom´s family actually *needs* her & Sweetie Belle´s family PREFERS her not moving out].

I know this episode is quite old at this point, and I've only recently started watching your reactions, but each time I see this specific episode it reminds me of my own experiences that I don't hear/see get talked often. I feel like what Scootaloo goes through here is very relatable for American military children, who often have to move as their parent(s)' command sends them to different places to live. My own experience had both of my parents out of town/country serving so I didn't see them every day like others my age, and my life was uprooted every four or five years roughly for something new. I had no choice in it, until they finally retired from the service and we became more 'civilian-like' in our lives. I really see and understand this from Scoot's POV, but I get her parents' POV as well. It's a completely bittersweet situation.

I completely agree. They missed a huge chance to advise the kids at home on how to deal with this situtation when it happens, but instead the CMC were able to get their own way.
I understand the given reasons in the episode, but I do feel like an opportunity was missed for a bittersweet sendoff to one of the longest established cast members that could have gone down as one of the best episodes of the show.

I'm actually a bit disappointed overall by this episode.
They showed Scoot's aunts, but very carefully skirted around officially establishing what their relationship was. (Which doesn't surprise me, but does disappoint me, especially after all the pre-episode hype about it.)
Then they introduced the "parents moving away" conflict, which *could* have been a relatable lesson for kids, but then undercut it by having the parents abandon the idea of taking Scoot with them.
The actual reveal of the parents was really the only high point in the episode for me.

    • @luffyiscool
      @luffyiscool  5 років тому +5

I actually agree that the episode would carry so much more weight is Scootaloo had to leave. Such a bittersweet sendoff for one of the longest standing characters could have ended up as one of the most emotional episodes of the show. Instead, we ended up being emotionally manipulated, which isn't too cool.
It also gives false hope to children in the same situation at home that they can change their parents choice with enough complaining.

    • @adolfodef
      @adolfodef 5 років тому +4

@@luffyiscool They basically said to children that you MUST either have to:
      a) Abide to you parent´s will no matter how horrible it may be.
      b) Somehow convince them of "transfering" their ownership (because you are their slave/property) to some other family member [like the sister of the father].
      c) Getting a *legal emancipation* from them by yourself [something that requires both already having a "valid job" & some political figure that recognizes it as such] so their "opinion" does not matter, since you are "an adult" under The Law.
-> Rainbow Dash had to wait until she got to certain age (on her birthday, obviously) to move away from her parents (having a cutiemark was not enough, she had to be "employable").

@@thebeavpercabethftw9604 It's certainly possible - if it's common practice on Latin American television to air the original language as a secondary audio track. I mean, that's how we got the English versions of the Magical Movie Night EG specials a month or two in advance of their airing on Discovery Family, when they aired on... whatever the Polish channel MLP airs on is called (because apparently it's standard practice for Polish TV to do that)
Or it could be like how the early Italian releases for season 9 worked, where the English version was posted to an on-demand service run by the Italian channel airing them (or something like that).

I also originally read into the title as the CMC having an argument, like in said episode, and breaking up.
I am glad that that wasn’t the case and that they will continue to use their talents, but I would’ve been alright if Scootaloo did go with her parents.

It was good to see Scootaloo's parents. Looks like Snap Shutter has Australian accent like Rolling Thunder, but I hope he and Mane Allgood don't find out what Scootaloo did, when she joined the Washouts.
At the ending there were returning characters. In this case, is there going to be an episode where the Diamond Dogs return? We haven't heard of them since the first season.
Also at the ending Queen Novo should have appeared and congratulated the girls for helping her nephew decide where to live, and for tutoring her niece. And as a reward, she should have been giving them magic pearl necklaces. And I believe Novo is willing to forgive Twilight and give her and her friends necklaces too, as a sign of forgiveness.
Cheerilee mentioned show and tell. If the Crusaders would do there sea pony transformation in front of the class the students would be amazed, and after school they would go to Twilight's castle and ask her to make necklace copies. I think Sandbar also wants a necklace since he has turtles for a cutie mark. If he transforms into a sea pony, he could see how the turtles live underwater. He could also show that to his friends and then we'd get to see how would Gallus, Smolder and Yona look as sea creatures. Twilight should also make a necklace copy for Sunset Shimmer. If the Ponyville school students would wait for Cheerilee in the classroom while being transformed into sea ponies, and Cheerilee enters she would say: - Oh my! Did my classroom turned into an aquarium? It seems.
The Wonderbolts did a performance. Rumble also wants to be a Wonderbolt but if he would have necklace, not only we're going to see how he looks as a seapony but if he transforms the other members into sea ponies they could do a water performance.
If Scootaloo would go on a vacation with her parents and aunts to the beach they could go on an underwater adventure. When the parents retire they could move to Ponyville and Scootaloo can live with them, but by that time she'll grow up.
If Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood are adventurers that means they are similar to Kazuma Tsukumo and Mira Tsukumo, the parents of Yuma Tsukumo from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal. And in my opinion Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal needs more episodes. In the final episode we have seen Yuma and his friends going to Astral World to stop an evil threat. But we didn't get to know what the threat was, which left us with a cliffhanger.

    Hello and back once again,
    Rygorn here.
    Insert"papyrus,boi!"meme here
    (Deep breath in)
    (Deep breath out)
I really.... don't like how they represented scootaloo's parents in the episode here.
Sorry in advanced, most of my questions are mostly ranting.
    1.First off,her parents?
This was quite the shocker to me.
Originally at the end of Parental Glidance,I had two theories,
Theory A: Scootaloo had abusive parents.
Theory B: Scootaloo is an orphan.
I really thought this show wouldn't go the darker route but color me surprised.
Her parents are living representation of putting your work before family. They chose to leave their Ponyville alone with the care of holiday and loyalty. Anyways what do you think of her parents because let me get my Worst parent list here whose at the bottom:
    hmm...Spoilt Rich
Well time to add two more to the list.
3."Nopony else can do our job"
In the distance you can hear Daring Do growling in anger.
4.They know that Rainbow is her "sister" right?
Did they not consider how would she feel?
5.This episode would have been so much better if say sweetie belle's parents were the ones trying to convince sweetie to move.
Do you agree or do you have another suggestion?
6.They only start getting worried when sombra returned and destroyed the tree of harmony.
Yeah that's when you should worry not when The literal embodiment of nightmare returned and nearly eclipsed all of equestrian in eternal darkness, not when The Lord of chaos returned and turned Ponyville into utter mayhem Or lets not forget about when tirek absorbed all of equestrian's magic and nearly destroyed everything. I'm not saying that sombra destroying wasn't important,I'm saying that should have responded earlier.

    • @luffyiscool

      1. Lauren Faust once said that Scootaloo's parents have important jobs and she usually has babysitters, and this episode seemed to honor what Faust said. Scootaloo doesn't hold their job against them, in fact she seems quite proud of the work they do for the betterment of all ponies. They're portrayed as researcher heroes like Indiana Jones. Scootaloo said that the only reason she didn't go with them is that it was too dangerous. That actually sounds reasonable, considering her age. What they do is important, but that also means they can't drag a filly along with them.
      3. Technically, their style may be the same, but their goals and objectives differ.
      4. They didn't know much about Scootaloo's ponyville situation because they've been away, this was in fact a pretty realistic portrayal. Kids will object to moving no matter who they are, so they probably expected that she'd put up some resistance, but hey just weren't prepared for how important this specific case was.
      5. My suggestion is that a part of me actually wanted Scootaloo to go, just to help the kids at home watching this episode who went through similar things. It could have been a really important bittersweet moment with real weight to it.
      6. I think they're like Daring Do, they're often pretty isolated from society.
The Dad even said he was looking forward to eating an ice cream sundae because the jungle doesn't have those, implying they've been out in the wilderness for a long long time. They're kinda like Arnold's parents from Hey Arnold! He was always saying throughout the show that his parents were badass and always far away doing wonderful things, and others found him difficult to believe. But then they eventually showed up and were exactly as he described.

Scootaloo then went for a different option, the more mature one.
They showed the parents how important the CMC's job is, and how taking Scootaloo away would ruin all of that and stop them from helping ponies. The parents found it relateable to their own important work and agreed that Scootaloo should be able to stay. It was something that could only happen in this specific situation.

I don't think you should give them a hard time for not giving Babs Seed some of the spotlight, which I can agree would be wonderful to see not only because it's been awhile since her last appearance, but also considering the fact that the show is almost drawing to a close and it would feel awful if we didn't at least get SOME form of closure to certain characters like her. However, I think there has to be some logical reason why they hadn't done that so far because if they could then they definitely would've done so already don't you think? My guess is that perhaps the voice actor just isn't available for some reason? I don't have all the facts, but that seems to be the most logical excuse to me for why they didn't give her some kind of action in the foreground here. It's strange, but I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt since I (or any of us) don't know the full context behind these decisions. Though, assuming the show staff didn't care about Babs and pushed her aside as an "afterthought" because she was next to someone like Twist was a bit too extreme, albeit understandable from emotion.

  • @KalloSkull
    @KalloSkull 5 років тому +3

This episode kinda tears me apart. I really wanna love it, but I feel it makes some huge mistakes. It's a good episode as far as tying up the CMC's story. But the part where it goes horribly wrong is that the parents let Scootaloo stay for the complete wrong reason, and I'm sad no other character confronted them for their absolute garbage treatment and neglect of Scootaloo. You can't just abandon your daughter for her entire childhood and then come back thinking you can tear her away from everything and everyone she knows and holds dear (the aunts, CMC, Rainbow Dash, and even RD's parents have been more of a family to her than her parents). Sorry, but the fact that they think they can do that and that nobody called them out for it just sits so wrong with me. The parents never ended up seeing the error of their ways. They should've been forced to make a decision between their job and their daughter. Instead they were basically patted on the back and told "You know how job always goes ahead of your own family, so surely you understand Scootaloo thinks the same way" and the parents responded "We sure do. So we'll just abandon her again". That's a completely backwards moral in this situation. They should've seen how much Ponyville meant to Scootaloo, but instead they just appreciated their own selfish way of thinking so damn much that THAT'S what changed their mind. Like, c'mon now, that's not a very good lesson. And it's disappointing, cause this could've been fixed with simply changing "We see how much Ponyville needs you so we'll let you stay" to "We see how much Ponyville means to you, and we apologise for being away for so long and then trying to take you away from here". They could've thrown in a line about the CMC's importance as a side-note, not as the damn key to the conflict of the episode. So yeah, not a fan of those parents, which is okay (I don't have to like every character), but I'm mostly disappointed about the fact the other characters didn't do what they should have. Closest we got was the aunts questioning their decision, but even that wasn't so much. I was hoping they'd really lay down the law on the parents. At the end of the day, I think there's something immensely wrong with the outcome that it's the AUNTS who turn their whole life upside down and make a big sacrifice for the sake of Scootaloo's happiness, and not her own parents, and they don't even apologise for abandoning her again (yeah, I know they said they'll keep in contact, but that hardly counts).

    • @linkonar7823
      @linkonar7823 5 років тому +1

Firstly, I think saying that her parents "abandoned" her for the entirety of her childhood is exaggerating the issue. Time in and of itself in this show is kind of convoluted and not that well established so I think it's unfair to accuse her parents that way and it's very clear that Scootaloo HAS spent time with them before.
As for her parents treating Scoots like garbage, well you can already guess I don't agree with that. Her parents thought, with the best intentions for the FAMILY, that they can live together permanently once and for all from all the time spent being separated for quite some time, to be sure. It wasn't right for them to just pull Scootaloo out of her life in Ponyville, but it also wouldn't be right for them to completely abandon their lives work and passion just like that either (which I'm sure no one would want to), unless under the circumstance that they're literally back against a wall with no other options, but that wasn't the focal point of the episode. The conflict isn't "choose between daughter or passion job" and I don't think it should've been, it was about coming to a judicious accommodation that everyone can be satisfied with because one or the other wasn't too happy with the situation. Never in this episode did the parents ever gave off the vibe that they appreciated and cared more for their job than Scootaloo... the only thing that was clearly established was that their parents (like any person would normally if they had a passion job) loved doing what they were "destined" to do and that's it; never once was it stated or vaguely hinted that they cared less for Scootaloo than their job which is far from the truth considering they had their honest (not ill-intended) reasons for going out on their expeditions, not even mentioning the fact that they've clearly spent time with her beforehand so it would be irrational to assume that they literally missed out on her "entire" childhood. Painting the parents as selfish when it's shown that that's not what they actually feel and exude (despite their obvious mistakes that the episode points out), makes me think you didn't understand the point and purpose of the episode's narrative and motives behind the parent's decisions. Parents with kids and a whole family CAN get caught up in their jobs a lot of the time, BUT that doesn't mean that they don't love their kids and kin and less than the job itself. Like I said, I think if the parents were literally backed against a wall then they would definitely be willing to sacrifice a lot more (like their jobs) just to be with Scootaloo, however, that wasn't only not the focus nor the point of the episode, but that particular circumstance just hasn't had a modest chance of being a prominent factor within the architecture of the conflict itself given what we were shown. In other words, it never felt 100% necessary to resort to this (even if it would've been a very nice to see) and I feel like you expected or hoped for this to happen a little too much to the point were you were left feeling "betrayed" and disappointed at the outcome.
Look I don't meant to come off as "that guy" that tells you that you're wrong and you don't know what you're talking about, because that's not what I'm trying to do. I just can't agree with what you're saying here at all and find it hard that this is what you got out of the episode. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm just giving my own thoughts and opinions based on everything here.
