I will argue with you with ONE CON - Elements don't seem to have big impact - coz they aren't from Genshin Impact duh :D - anyway I LOVE IT! I freakin' hate that Genshin elemental reactions, and you may ask "BUT WHY are you hater of this mechanic?" COZ I CAN PLAY any character team comp I WANT instead of building just characters to get best combo wombo with elements - IT IS CALLED GATEKEEPING or something. ALSO you are wrong elements have no impact - havoc enemy takes less dmg from havok Rover for example etc. so there is relevance in elements usage BUT it won't that much hold you back (oh and those flying rock enemies are immune to element they are build from - but you know that).

genshin story is overrated I cringe every time someone calls it a masterpiece saying things like it made them cry, you can tell they only play genshin lol
same reason for me, my account is AR59 last time i tried to go back to genshin story pushed me away again. not having a skip button is terrible especially for uninteresting side quests, and for main story the too much dialogues makes you lose your focus. i just find wuthering waves to be the better genshin for me, better mobility, better combat, way less childish, and way less annoying storytelling, main downsides are the worse optimization (even on pc it does stutter sometimes) and the less polish compared to genshin

Same, but it feels a little like genshin now tbh. Log in, play 10-15 minutes and log out. Am I the only one who finds it excruciating to keep going through multiple menus of stuff to level up and upgrade with all kinds different materials all the time just to keep doing the same thing with bigger numbers?
@@songsandanims You must be right, but it still seems weird to me that the younger audience who barely have the attention span to watch an entire 30 seconds tik tok video could continue to enjoy those endlessly repetitive tedious tasks forever. Maybe the dopamine hit of seeing numbers get bigger is enough to make it worth it. It's probably like getting more views, likes and followers on your socials. "Clear path to bigger numbers yes please!"
@@SeeStral-n9h I'd say good UI design, there are good games with garbage UI, look at Monster Hunter and tbf most of japanese games for that matter, especially jrpgs, they love their garbage uis with 3249023 confusing menus
You're not the only one, no one likes it but most people that play just tolerate it. They might fight with you about the complaint with ways to ignore it or "get over" it but if you described a different system, or 7 months from now when the game adds "quality of life" no one will say: "I prefer the old way where it took forever and was tedious." That said, what I enjoy in the games overall is mastery of the different characters, enemies, and bosses. That's worth much more than the numbers which are just RNG (gearing) anyway. Being able to fight enemies without getting hit and maximize rotations and combos is worthwhile. And once mastered on a given character or team, learning it on different teams is where the replay value comes in prior to new content. You might enjoy the game similarly, but it would be MUCH better if the game focused around such a loop instead of promoting just collecting currency for showing up every day. For example, if each character came with their own bounty list of achievements that basically rewarded you for mastering all the enemies and combos of the character: such as "Defeat 10 XXXXX without taking any damage," "Perform 6 outro skills within 1 minute" and of course defeating each of the bosses with each character, etc. These games are moving towards being games people actually play as opposed to games you just collect and manage, so I'm hopeful within the next few years they will continue on this path adding more gameplay focus without losing the excitement of story, characters, and frequent updates as well as the accessibility of auto/skip/clear functions.
Honestly, as somebody who put a decent number of hours in... if you're gonna play a gacha game at all, play Wuthering Waves. The story is awful at first, but quickly gets at least somewhat interesting. Meanwhile, the combat is the real draw. It's actually fun and not *just* "mash the same button 500 times", though there is a healthy bit of that too. The dailies aren't things that are annoying to do, they're things that you're likely to end up doing anyway and most can be completed accidentally while burning your energy. Overall, solid game. I only stopped playing because I switched to Linux full time and there's no Linux launcher yet.
@@someonesomewhere8658 Nope. It uses anticheat that isn't compatible with Wine/Proton. Some people had a workaround for a while there, but then the devs patched it.
For anyone planning to play the game who's in for the story. I recommend reaching atleast Act 6 or even better, Act 7 before deciding to drop the game because of the story. Act 1 - 4 is very well known to be a rough ride in the community. I wish they would rework the first few acts so that newcomers won't be put off by it.
@@orimu836 If I need to slog through the first few acts that is widely known to be "rough" in the community, then it is an excuse. Many times have I tried to engage in something - games, shows, or anything else - and found myself struggling to keep going while everyone is going, "It gets better at X." No, if something is giving me the "It gets better after X" then it's crap.
@@EJ_Red But it was a fact that it got good tho. If it didn't actually get good, then I would agree that its just an excuse to make people play the game even tho the entirety is sht.
I was super pumped when the game dropped and played it for two months, but I just recently stopped because it felt way too much like my three years with Genshin. I’m totally burned out on this kind of game.
Yeah now it's just another genshin. I'd recommend Snowbreak for you, if it seems to be something for you. It's not at all as taxing as other gacha's and you more or less can get every new character they drop, they have 100% banners too for both char and weapons. They offer free GOOD characters and very generous on weekly pull currencies and such. Still, some characters are a little too.. haha.. Anyway...
Yo, Peon, there's a way to target farm guaranteed echo drops. You should look up the process, if you plan on actually farming out teams. Its super convenient.
I'm really glad you reviewed this game and I agree that it's a pretty damn good game. Yeah, the character movement is super crisp and cycling through your toons at the right time changes everything. Also, yeah....the echos are really fun. A super cool added touch to the game. IMO, you're the best game reviewer on YT. Keep it up, my man.
I like how when Genshin came out it was coined as a "breath of the wild/waifu" clone. And essentially what I'm seeing here is Genshin with cyper-fantasy art and maybe some soul kalibur/Tales style combat and a distinct last of Paimon.
Watches this while playing WUWA. I had shit luck with Changli too, but I agree, she is way worth it. I did get a double pull on her weapon though. I've already pre-farmed for the free 5 star, so yes, I'm excited.
At 9:44 it had me dying lol...but I am glad you tired this out, I put sooo many hours into this game the combat and TD system is what really pulled me in.
The only thing I found a bit "missed the spot" on the video is the elemental combos and how useful they re. As you saw, u do 0 damage on this specific enemy depending your element, you do also have elemental resistance even if they game doesn't really communicate it and finally, the Tower of Adversity let's you know about bonuses on floors depending your element. A Apart from that, as I mentioned on comments, spot on. Especially the terminology comment speaks out of my mind.
I have mixed feelings about ZZZ, very well polished but I stopped once I realized the combat, while flashy and smooth, felt like I'd need to fall asleep in order to lose a fight. its like mihoyo hates difficulty :/
you know it's cosmically hilarious how my favorite games of all time are Devil May Cry 5, NieR Automata and Persona 3 and 5... so i'm eating so damn GOOD with ZZZ and Wuwa hahaha I'm so glad I gave up on other live service games I used to frequent before (Destiny 2 especially) for this

It always baffles me how games have advanced so much in the last 20 years, but yet can't seem to pick up on obvious writing improvements that have been available these past 20 years.
well writers just like everyone else are still human after all and not all writers are good nor are aware of every form of writing improvement. having said that i think thats just an issue with kuro as a whole whoever their writers are seem to be better at continuing a story rather than starting one
Alot of that also has to do with Chinese sensibilities for writing. The style can seem ham fisted, and overly convoluted for no good reason to us in the West.
Getting Changli at a 160 pulls is CRAZY bad luck. I wouldnt even blame you for getting a bad impression of the game after that lol. But yea, I love the game and I agree with those cons. They really should give characters elements more importance for the fights. While I enjoy being able to use whatever character I want at any time, I wouldnt mind at all if they gave us more reasons to switch teams.
@@zealgaming8161 I want to level more teams but I still have a rough time just keeping 3 of my main chars at top level for each difficulty spike. Even at 90 they aren't exactly generous with amount of rewards to level up chars. Really slow progress, not painful or anything, just slow. Everything is behind waveplates and there isn't much one can do.
I just downloaded it. The game is fun and the fight mechanics are a blast . The menus and currencies are confusing. But, I love the open world climbing and gliding.

I understand the need to take sponsorships to put food on the table, still didn't stop me from turning off the vid 1m30s in at the moment you mentioned it was sponsored. I'm a long time watcher of your channel, and every time you're sponsored to do a first impressions it feels like you go overly easy on the game, like things that you complain about in other games are missing from your cons list on sponsored vids even when some of those things are clearly in the game, so now I just skip your sponsored vids. Be careful, like many people I started watching you because of how genuine your opinions were, and these sponsored first impressions vids of yours feel anything but genuine to me.
this just shows you aren't an actual fan of lazy peon. if such a low barrier puts you off of his videos instead of respecting that he does his usual thing whether a game is sponsored or not. if he doesn't like the game, he doesn't like it and will definitely voice why in his "Cons". i don't know what is up with gamers and their high horse when it comes to sponsored content. the guy has to make a living and he's telling you about the game. good and bad from his perspective.
so what u expecting from peon? u want him not having fun with the game? u expect peon will hate the game? or u just hate wuwa in general and expecting peon hate this game and still love "the other game in the genre"?

Heyy.. i was checking on your channel after a long time to see current state of mmorpg.. didnt realize you also checked this game..im maining this game and hsr atm
Ok Pgr ,Ark,Ba, Hsr and Gi player here and LV50 Wuwa. Basically what you said is true, but let me just a few things 1) Soundtracks in Wuwa are not good in comparison to other gacha games like PGR (Both Kuro Games). That's because they didn't use Vanguard studio to create the ost. Compare Dreamless ost, to Luna's theme: ua-cam.com/video/QT7WyrhbFAI/v-deo.html , just for instance. They are galaxy apart imo 2) The echo farming is terrible. It is true that at maximum data bank you obtain four golden echos (Echos= artifacts), but the substat rolling is way worse than HSR and GI. 2.1)Same echos don't give the bonus required to reach the 5 piece set, meaning that you don't even have a free slot artifact. What I mean is, if I obtain a lizard lv3 with Electro Damage bonus, but I have another Lizard lv3 with electro damage bonus, I won't be able to put them in the same set cause of this stupidity. 3)The echo bonus are not even shown unless you upgrade them 4)The non-upgrade echo lv3 and lv4 can't be used to upgrade other echos like Gi and HSR, this slows the farming process a lot 5)The fact that you have to teleport each time you want to synthethize something ( 3pieces blue to obtain one violet) is stupid and time consuming 6)The challenge of the boss gives violet stone, which in terms of gacha currency, are useless. They just give materials. Meaning that, challenging Cronwless lv6 is useless if not for your own amusement. 7)The abyss system penalizes people who don't have time to build so many teams and characters owing to the stamina system. Now in PGR there is the same stamina system, but in Wuwa since the farming is way slower, this penalizes the player much more than PGR. You are obliged to build a minimum of two teams and more for the final two floors 8)Open world ost are boring and repetitive, making the exploration flat and void 9)A lot of characters seems out of the blue and poor selling. What I mean is, who is Chalcharo? Just a random hot guy? They removed his first appeareance in the story in closed beta1, and now many characters like him and Verina just feels empty and poor attachment to them. In Genshin impact Diluc, Razor and even Lisa, where sold well through the main story and story quest. These characters feels empty in comparison. That's the same mistake that Tower of Fantasy did. We had Merly, King ( the Diluc clone), but who where they? What role they played in the story? Why should I pull for them? If you lack reason to get attached or know a character, then you also slowly lose the interest in the game itelfs. Overlall, as a PGR player, for now, if I have to be honest, I give this game a 7 out of 10. It has a lot of space of improvement, it's still unripe, like a green apple or an uncoocked cake. Kuo games listen to the players, so, we hope for the best
I'll never understand people like you that purposely skip story in a game. It's the only thing that ties things together if not we're just chimps pushing same 2 buttons for 50 hours lol. But to each their own
also is not punishing you if you do not get what you wanted, the characters you have from the older banners are still relevant and i bet in time after some good patches the team singery will be way better... overall it is a great game, i play this and diablo immortal as my main games when i am at home or at work in breaks time... the only 2 games i decide its worth investing time on and i feel good i can play all day long and still do not get bored
Been playing since launch and loving the game for the most part. I just hope they clean up the early-game experience at some point so it isnt a "it gets good by episode X" situation anymore.
Just saying but Changli side-story quest is a must play through 👌 Also while elements on your team mainly matters in regards to buff it also matter regarding the enemy types you fight. While enemies doesnt have elemental weakneses they do have elemental resistance, specially bosses. Like you shouldnt use pyro chars against a pyro boss and electric against electric (unless you wanna do it on hard mode). Glad ya had a great time playing the game, personally i really enjoy the combat system ^^
I played genshin for a while then tried getting back to it after over a long period, totally expecting a much better game, but nope, same crap, just different power crept characters. mihoyo simply kept making other games in order to get more cash, but totally disregarded any feedback for improving the game. kuro games congrats on expertly pushing the genre forward (skip

I have played both and I prefer Wuthering its a lot more dark/adult and the combat is phenomenal and pull system is better just because of no 50/50 on weapons. @@dongarippo7279 its honestly to bad mihoyo gatchas don't do that, getting 3 standard 5 stars at the start 2 of which are guarantied, is really nice. and then being able to use the standard currency to go for a specific limited weapon means you're not stuck with some terible 4 star. it just means if your unlucky you're early game experiance isnt affected.
The "Shiny" aka other palette of the Echos was supposed to be hard RNG grind hell with better stats than normal one if i remember? but people hated it hence why they just simply reused it as a Skin.
21:59 imo it’s actually a solution to deal with powercreep in this game. In some other gacha games, meta will often be replaced after a month or two. On the other hand, PGR (Kuro’s other game) , which has the same elements system as WuWa, often has their metas replaced after 1.5 - 4 years.
I dont know much about PGR, but thanks for that info, power creep is a big problem for these types of games so Im hoping kuro is good at managing that. Honestly it feels bad pulling for a character if you just KNOW that in 3 months it'll go from S tier to B tier :/

Already replied in your thread but just wanted to say thank you for the fair review, glad you enjoyed it, I felt the same after playing other not so generous and more annoying fomo gacha games.
@@divictus4835 I said the UI and art looked the same. The overall look is very similar. Characters obviously won't look the same, unless the company is literally trying to rip off Genshin. The world, I mean it looks simiilar in some ways but they've done enough of a job with it so it's not super obvious it looks similar. But the UI and art are extremely similar.
Wish someone would produce a non hero/gacha collector version of games like these. Retain the 'shifting' aspect but without having to change your character and of course the varied and flashy combat styles. I like to 'main' a single character and swapping them in and out all the time...I just don't like it.
Started playing the game this afternoon (sadly I regret I didn't picked the waifu at start D:) and love it already after 1h or so of gameplay. The review confirms that the game is the best complete gacha in the market, I tried out StarRail, really disappointed. It got open world, graphically really good, combat system optimized and challenging at post-release contents, and I guess even before, and cool action anime boss fights. I love the "gotta catch them all" content too (lol). If I have a con to say: don't play the game on mobile, poor movement design, had been trying to climb a ladder for 5 minutes at the start of the game. I feel this gacha gonna take most of my time. Got a desired waifu Resonator as 1st try, Daijin, for free! This game is not greedy on the gacha side I noticed, just like the video says, 80 attempts for 5-star instead of regular 90 like in PGR (which is from the same game company, and really good as well), and at each attempts you get a currency to spent in the shop for guarantued stuffs it seems. I'm even more a fan of Kuro Games now, after playing months to their first game years ago, they kept their quality in WuWa.
I know Gachas are taboo especially in the west. But if there's a gacha company and a game that I could honestly recommend to at least try for a non-gacha player is this. Primarily, due to how the devs are communitive and receives feedback. The developers of this game (Kuro Games) are one of the best you could get in gacha. And I've played a lot of them including Hoyo games. As for the game. Imagine Genshin with DMC combat and switch mechanics and pokemon. I know this is an ad, but Peon's review is actually fair. And the devs are known yo just let their sponsored CC to just say whatever (according to Stix while talking to Tectone during an interview). The only big con is that it's gacha which means the systems related to it eill be there. That's it. Also to Peon. Grab as many reputable sponsors as you can. We won't judge you. These people are hypocrites. As if they wouldn't entertain sponsors if they're on your shoes. Also, 17:24 yeah they do not. The only limit is the weekly bosses.

They might fight with you about the complaint with ways to ignore it or "get over" it but if you described a different system, or 7 months from now when the game adds "quality of life" no one will say: "I prefer the old way where it took forever and was tedious."
That said, what I enjoy in the games overall is mastery of the different characters, enemies, and bosses.
12:00 - the thing with this is, maybe not an amazing design, WuWa loving to introduce bosses through Exploration (turquoisish) Quests
Wuwa is amazing been playing since day 1.
Wine / proton?
@@someonesomewhere8658 Nope. It uses anticheat that isn't compatible with Wine/Proton. Some people had a workaround for a while there, but then the devs patched it.

I read it as wuthering babes
The fact that you don't play just one character is immersion breaking enough for me that I can't play such games.
Desing of characters and exploration is great, also the combat, at least for me, is more fun than in other action gacha
Well they lowered the UL lvl for the quest so they'll get to the later quest faster than us on release.
oh the good ole "it gets better X hours in" excuse.
@@gergokerekes4550 That ain't excuse, that's just a fact.
Still, some characters are a little too.. haha.. Anyway...
I feel you. I cannot get invested in Wuwa bec I've been playing Genshin religiously before.
So Im currently giving this a shot and I kid you not the first single pull I did was changli, didnt pay a dime.
Been playing since day 1 and is honestly pretty enjoyable game, specially if you like good combat, pretty fun
Apart from that, as I mentioned on comments, spot on. Especially the terminology comment speaks out of my mind.
WuWa is best open world gacha, and ZZZ is the best non open world gacha imo. I play both.

I'm going to try this game for the open world itself . The world looks very interesting
I'm hopeful for the PS5 release because I want a new action combat game to dump time into
"Hero Collector" what an odd way to say it lmao
I rly like the old style video editing. S-tier imo. 🖤
In all honesty I feel like this game is way better then genshhin impact in my oppinion bc there's like actually good luck and very good combat quality and animations the character designs are also very well made and it's easy to play I definitely reccomend it (depending on how good ur device is tho)

The mechanics and designs are fire. But the dialogues are freakin terrible. And i hate that animation skip everytime you tap to next dialogue. They really half-assed those parts.
Even though I have a beefy PC, I can't help but play gacha's on my phone. Something about the 100s of menus that make it easier..
Heyy.. i was checking on your channel after a long time to see current state of mmorpg.. didnt realize you also checked this game..im maining this game and hsr atm
Ok Pgr ,Ark,Ba, Hsr and Gi player here and LV50 Wuwa.
Basically what you said is true, but let me just a few things
1) Soundtracks in Wuwa are not good in comparison to other gacha games like PGR (Both Kuro Games). That's because they didn't use Vanguard studio to create the ost.
Compare Dreamless ost, to Luna's theme: ua-cam.com/video/QT7WyrhbFAI/v-deo.html , just for instance. They are galaxy apart imo
2) The echo farming is terrible.
3)The echo bonus are not even shown unless you upgrade them
4)The non-upgrade echo lv3 and lv4 can't be used to upgrade other echos like Gi and HSR, this slows the farming process a lot
5)The fact that you have to teleport each time you want to synthethize something ( 3pieces blue to obtain one violet) is stupid and time consuming
6)The challenge of the boss gives violet stone, which in terms of gacha currency, are useless.
You are obliged to build a minimum of two teams and more for the final two floors
8)Open world ost are boring and repetitive, making the exploration flat and void
9)A lot of characters seems out of the blue and poor selling.
Honestly, 7 is pretty good coming from a Kuroplayer
I heard Vanguard is coming to work on the music, they were working only on sound effects
@@lilblkrose Indeed, I was being generous, most of those problems are not easily solvable, because they are related to the game core mechanics

I'll never understand people like you that purposely skip story in a game. It's the only thing that ties things together if not we're just chimps pushing same 2 buttons for 50 hours lol. But to each their own
Best f2p gacha easily and the most fun aswell.
also is not punishing you if you do not get what you wanted, the characters you have from the older banners are still relevant and i bet in time after some good patches the team singery will be way better... overall it is a great game, i play this and diablo immortal as my main games when i am at home or at work in breaks time... the only 2 games i decide its worth investing time on and i feel good i can play all day long and still do not get bored

Been playing since launch and loving the game for the most part. I just hope they clean up the early-game experience at some point so it isnt a "it gets good by episode X" situation anymore.
the FF14 curse, "it gets good after 70 hours, bro."
Just saying but Changli side-story quest is a must play through 👌 Also while elements on your team mainly matters in regards to buff it also matter regarding the enemy types you fight. While enemies doesnt have elemental weakneses they do have elemental resistance, specially bosses.

Aight new sub!
Yep, you made me wanna try it.
It is a 9/10 for me personally, I love the combat, movement, and the banners. I really love the echo system, and I can't wait for 1.2.
