Thank you for an outstanding and concise explanation of what coding is and is not. The examples you share are exceptionally helpful and offer needed insight for newbies to the field.
Dr. Nicole, thank you very much, I learned from this video on coding for categories and themes. I admire the way you present this topic. Can I use your narrations here for research citations?
Excellent presentation on coding ma’am I have one question What to reply to reviewer if he asks for our codebook of our qualitative data? Should I give my entire codebook or just a template of my codebook with few transcripts would be ok ? Thank you
Hello, this is the reference: Seal, A. (2016) 'Thematic analysis', in Gilbert, G.N. & Stoneman, P. (eds.) Researching social life. London: SAGE, pp. 444-459.
That's a very interesting question, because if this happens it should lead you to investigate this seeming contradiction further: is it really a contradiction? Or is an unconscious researcher bias at play? Are you able to seek further data that investigates this seeming contradiction? I would do the latter if possible.
Nicole Kipar It is interesting that you mentioned researcher bias because I admit that one of the contradicting themes is really my bias prior to even conducting the research. I understand what you said about investigating the seeming contradiction and I found out that there could be a plausible explanation why these contradicting themes emerged (aside from bias), unfortunately I would find out if my hunch is correct during my defence. Thanks for your help 🙏
the same dilemma here- 'unconscious researcher bias' guilty - but as long as you are aware of your own bias and explain it... it should be fine - well, will let you know after my Viva:)
The presentation is good. But the way she read out all the quotes / remarks from other authors, I thought she was going through someone's research paper or dissertation paper. She has lot more way to improve presentation.
Very clearly and lucidly explained. Brilliant
Amazing video! Clear and straight to the point. Very useful for someone who is a newbie to the "art of coding".

Such a concise but informative presentation - it is so well-illustrated with clear examples. Thank you.
thank you for this clear lesson❤
Thanks so much for this. It was so informative. My data analysis is going to be so easier because of this.
Excellent video! I like the explanations and specific example!
Nicole, you are the best. This has been a very informative and useful video. All the best
Thank you so much! This helped me in the process of creating a codebook for my thesis.
This was soooooo helpful . THANK YOU
on a side note (you look awesome 😎 like a Hogwarts teacher 🧙♂️)
Very clear.....excellent!!!
Excellent explanation and exampling. Loved it.
Ms Kipar you have helped me , thanks for your video. JR- Ph D candidate
Wow, Nic!
I am amazed by you.
So helpful. Wish I had access to the "handout"...lol
Thank you, Professor.
You are smart presenter, Thanks a lot
Thanks so much Dr🎉❤helpful video
Very helpful, was struggling with understanding coding

this is amazing
Thanks and how can contact you please regarding data analysis? Do you have one to one lesson please?
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Thank you so much! I learned something.
does anybody have access to what she was citing from 4:20-4:33? Thanks
Precisely presented 🎁
Thank you
Do we use our RQ to form themes meanwhile map codes that fall into those themes.
Very good! thanks!
What about inductive or deductive approach? How does this fit throughout the process?
nice one!!!
keep it up...
brilliant ! Thanks
Excellent presentation on coding ma’am
I have one question
What to reply to reviewer if he asks for our codebook of our qualitative data? Should I give my entire codebook or just a template of my codebook with few transcripts would be ok ?
Thank you
Thank you very much
I mean, are we allowed to create themes within another data in order to see the relation between one date and the main data?
Do you give online private coaching sessions?
Very helpful
Do you give private online tutoring session?s
Where do I find the Seal, 2016 reference?

Thanks .
I have a problem madam. I used content analysis and my research appears like a quantitative research. Am I on the right track?
Thanks for the concise and useful video. Off-topic, WHERE did you find that beautiful jacket? Great style!
Can emergent themes contradict each other?
That's a very interesting question, because if this happens it should lead you to investigate this seeming contradiction further: is it really a contradiction? Nicole Kipar Thank you for your reply! This means a lot.

Can I just put codes and present them as chart in my thesis results section? Am I obliged to have Categories or Themes?
the best

Good, but euh, your pronunciation of Spanish names is not inclusive :-P 'Saldana'..is not 'Saldaña'
How's your Gaelic pronunciation?
