Good stuff! If I ever have an issue with my RV, you're my first UA-cam search! ;)
I wish this would have been a video you had made a few years ago I have a 97Atwood heater and I had to replace the motor in it and I had to completely destroy the combustion wheel to get the motor out of the furnace thank you for making videos like this I really do appreciate the depth that you go into on these videos because other people make videos and they have a tendency to skip things that are very important that you always deep dive into and I appreciate that so much thank you for what you do
You’re a valuable source to us RV DIY selfers.
Thank you for your kind comments. It is appreciated!
So I had an issue. I resolved it. The sail switch. Was sticking (dog hair). Put it back together. Different issue occurred watched one of your vidios. I installed vent incorrectly. Never would it occur to me. That would cause an issue. You saved me time and grief. BIG THANK YOU FOR Your vidios
Darren, just wanted to say your videos and knowledge of the rv industry is impeccable and im currently taking the home study course from the NRVTA in Athens Texas and in 2025 I will be taking a career change and going to the big red training center in Texas to become a certified mobile rv tech as well, but between the home study course and your videos I feel that I will be a few steps ahead of the game in knowledge when I go to school, what you are doing on your channel is just awesome for the rv community and I commend you and just wanted to say thank you
Perfect timing for this video. Mine rattles at the beginning and then smooths out. Thank you for sharing the website and that is the exact same furnace that I have.
Is there any benefit to also changing out the time delay and sail switch or any other parts while you have it apart.
Thanks again
I dont have an rv but I appreciate quality work. It's refreshing and really kinda therapeutic to watch your thoroughness to craft. Saw the cats on rodent patrol too 😅.
I begin my training at NRVTA next month. Watching your videos and learning from you has been absolutely helpful, I only hope I can be such an outstanding RV Tech as you!
Great resource, thank you!!
I got to dig into my Aquahot. 2003 Wanderlodge. I’ve had RVs all my life. Remember well the furnaces I dealt with way back. Good stuff
Now that’s is awesome information! You have given great information for sure but this one, I put in my to go to folder ie phone and tablet. Thanks Darin
Having a squeal on my furnace. Now i have an idea how to go about troubleshooting and repairing the furnace. On to part 1. Thanks.
I Love watching ur stuff. If ur gonna destroy plastic wheel a dremel cuts fast
wow thank you, for the parts reference manuals.....
Glad to help
Great video I have a hydro flame HF7712 in a 71 chinook any ideas on where can get a manual?
We have many manuals on our website www.myrvworks.com/manuals/ and www.manualslib.com is also a good resource.
Awesome video, thanks
Glad you liked it!
You mention that the sail switch was the cause of the burner going out with the exhaust port being out . I can’t see how’s this is true as the sail switch is in the air stream that heats the room not the exhaust gases
Soon as I put my fuse in my furnace blower will start up and won't shut off . I have to pull fuse out to stop it
Hi Darren, is there anyway to replace the bearing on my AC motor? Thanks 30:58
Typically no, most of these motors are sealed with sealed bearings inside. Typically you just replace the entire motor.
I'm being told mine isn't able to be fixed and yet it's sounding just like others I've watched on here.
I’ve got a suburban furnace with the blue and white wire that goes to the reset switch being broken and can’t find the end of it to tie it back together. Someone help please 🙏
If you have an Airexcel/Coleman thermostat, usually the blue wire with white stripe leaving the furnace is capped off and does not go anywhere. In that configuration, you would only have one of the blue wires from the furnace connected to the coach wiring. The other end of that wire connects to the white wire on your thermostat.
SORRY! Hit the thumbs down button by mistake. Meant to hit the thumbs up button
I hope you corrected it. ;)
