I only use UF8 for Ableton. I just wish they could bring the colour coding and channel select to Ableton without having to use the 360 channel mixer as this is something I never use.
That ssl 360 mixer is faaaast. But yeah it’s a drawback if you don’t feel like working in it. It’s almost like working out of the box on an analogue console. I’m with ya!

I did swap out my tascam digital 24 and moved to an ssl2 interface and it’s a lovely little unit of your not recording bands . I’m only using for guitar input for demoing tracks and to make my home studio a little more fun I have run my sub amp on the headphone output to a transducer under my studio seat so I can feel the bass without blasting the whole house and I can still turn off to check mix , but I can feel like I’m mixing at volume but still safe for my ears . I’m just getting a send from speaker output so when I mix with my Sharona IEM at night the transducer thumper also gives me that bass thump but I’m in cans / in ear monitors so gives me the vibe of a lounge mix but safe . I don’t have the luxury of a seperate studio room yet so I’m always having to make ways to mix home life and composing life haha
Is this possible to control other company plugins?? I also use a few SSl plugins, but if only SSl plugins are controlled, I guess I can't help but be reluctant to buy it.
Yes, you can control other plugins on the UF1 & UF8 The controller is legitimately the most deep controller on the market with its custom mapping functions and macro function. The UC1 however, is currently only capable of controlling the SSL plugins. So UF1 & UF8 ✅ UC1 still is a “❔” I’m very hopeful that they let the UC1 be opened up to other plugins, it would only make sense and sell more. Now as far as the competition, there is damn near none. The closest thing to what these devices are capable of is the softube console 1 mk3 But that has its limits as well, and only works with the softube plugins. I believe there is some compatibility with others, but I think it also has its limits. Most of softubes mk3 is a facelift from version 2. Which is well documented. Either way, the top of the line DAW controller is the UF8 & UF1. No doubt in my mind. Happy to answer any other questions, cheers!
