    Fascinating goodies in that machine.

33:26 I love how the SOIC-8 packages(?) are on a little thick board. You can see they've removed some of the grounding on the main pcb as well. I assume they either wanted better isolation(mitigating residual currents) or they wanted to avoid adding capacity and did this in order to match the first stages impedance to the cable/tube.

Nice Video, I really like these teardowns, you always seem to find some obscure medical / scientific gear.
It seems like the UK is a pretty good source for these, since mike from mikeselectricstuff also seems to find a lot of these things.
The unit itself is a classical case of a device, where the engineers were free to do things right, without the price pressure.
It seems to be pretty well thought through.

The three connectors on the back of the PMT cell are signal (sign.), coincidence (coin), and either a SHV or MHV bias connector

Kinda sad you didnt try to power it up and see if it does anything on its serial ports etc. And maybe stick an ISA video card in and see what the SBC does.

I know, sorry. As i mentioned in the video it had been sat on the workbench for 4 weeks so wanted to get the video finished. I do hope to power up the board in the future.

Aren't you ever perturbed by the radiation sticker on these things? :-) :-)
