Love it, just be careful with holding cars up with cinderblocks. Two cases in the last year here in North Carolina of cinderblocks crumbling and pinning someone under a car. Both survived but with serious injuries
Guy I know here in Missouri lost his foot using them.. jack stands Sprayway
Old cinder blocks
Thanks GoalieLife. I really appreciate the concern, it’s greatly appreciated 🤝
@@SprayWayCustoms
The safest way I know is cross ties cut and doubled a little longer than cinder blocks and doubled and stacked another layer on top going the other direction crossing the bottom ones, with a piece of plywood that fits on top of that.. Good and safe on level ground... (Good hardwood cross ties, not the old bad ones)... Phillip Hall
@@SprayWayCustoms black disc paint should be remove when braking? How? 🤔
Swear you responsible for so many ppl getting they cars/trucks together. I use the red scotch bright 3” ball that attach to drill. $8-10 at O’Reillys
Always great to hear that. Much appreciate the support
I 100% and a fan of your channel. Your painting skills are superb. With that said painting your brake rotors and the calibers... Never, ever paint a brake contact surface. Yes brake pads will burn off the paint from the rotor but in doing so it contaminates the brake pad and we'll lead to glazing. Blazing is basically slick spots where all of the porous components in the brake pad have now been filled in with a substance. This reduces your ability to brake and increases the distance it takes you to stop in any situation. I like my car to look good... It doesn't have to look half as good as much as it has to stop though. It don't even have to roll but it damn sure has to stop. That is the most important part of any car. So I'm going to recommend that people don't do this. If you want to paint the center hub of your rotor mask off. If you want to paint the brake caliper, take it off and remove the pads hang it inside the tire well. Just do not paint your damn braking surfaces 🤦. This has been a PSA that could save your life.
Thanks for the info
That looks good 👍
Thanks again Pharraway 🤝
Great job as always. I've learned so much from and enjoy watching ALL of your videos. Much love from Rocky Mount, NC. Keep up the GREAT work and post more if u get the chance!!! 👍🏾
Thanks LeMar..it’s a junkyard called Cox Auto Salvage I want to visit in Rocky Mount, NC 👍🏾
Been watching this man for many many years! That’s how I started painting at home and I’m painting all of my buddies cars! Thank you !
Appreciate you..great to hear that
& Just sharing a old school trick Sometimes using tinfoil to cover up suspension parts is ez too By the way you inspired me to use Big Flakes on this n that like I did my Eldorado taillights after putting thinned down black on them and then rainbow flake in clear over them I was surprised how many people didn’t know about metalflake they liked it It got noticed 🤔
That’s what’s up. Thanks for the support man
I like how you took the time to protect the surrounding area from the over spray, pro job excellent work!
Thanks Dennis
BUT MAN WHY DID YOU PAINT THE ROTORS IT WILL JUST WEAR OFF THE FIRST TIME YOU HIT THE BRAKES or the brakes will be more of a suggestion than an order and youll plant that bmw in a light pole
Well, everything all good because this was done about a year ago and this is my daily driver with no problems. My brand new Wilwood brake rotors are painted from the factory
Never fucking do this. This is horrible. Take the caliper off, clean it, tape it off, paint it appropriately.
😳
Great work and video 👍🏻as always!!! Hey in your next cut and buff video can you go over how often you change the the sand paper and how you take care of your buffing pads or if you buy all new ones every time? I think that would be good content for your videos thanks so much for all your videos I’ve learned so much!!!
Sure can Dan....I have one coming up
didnt even use primer lmao
Do you know the reason for primer 😳
@@SprayWayCustoms explain
UUUHHHH, yeah he did @19:54.
I don’t think painting the disc is a good ideas to be honest I would not do it
Just paint the hub
Thanks for watching
Thank you as always for allowing your skill flow to our minds through your craft.
Thanks 🙏
Now the brake system looks very clean those small details really pop out when admiring the rims.
Thanks
Hey ,Thanks Sprayway ,I picked up some more knowledge again today from you your amazing my freind. 👍
That’s great Lloyd
Nice job man looks killer amazing how doing a tiny detail like that makes the car look so much nicer and finished off …cool car to 👍
Appreciate you
I paint the same car black. If you get the chance check it out on my page. Wet sanded to 3k before buffing. Left a sheet of black glass
That’s what’s up 👌
🔥 🔥 🔥
Appreciate you Pete

Amazing work and great teacher
Thanks
Heavy duty Aluminum foil works great for this kind of stuff.
Thanks for the info
Rusty brakes just look like shit, plain & simple.
My friend asked why do some paint everything? I explained coatings are meant
to lock out oxygen and ozone- colors are just for appeal, it does nothing for the coating.
Color makes it look nice. Yours turned out real sharp. Soap up those rims!
Appreciate you 🤝
More "good" stuff.
Thanks Kevin
Sprayway the truth
Thanks fam
Love this red , so beautiful .
Thanks Galle
Saying hey from up in Seattle 👍 Love & Appreciate your videos & you got such a knack for detail ! That’s a nice red
Appreciate the Sea Town support
Now that is cooled
Thanks Dan
thanks for this
Thanks for watching
Paint the rotor? Show car? Cuz if ya drivin that the paint will most definitely affect the brakes.
It haven’t affected it yet and this was done almost a year ago
@@SprayWayCustoms damn that’s good then.
Bruh I gotta get in the game FRFR

Thanks for the tip about the oven cleaner. Old dogs do learn new tricks. Keep em coming. Love them and Thanks for sharing
No problem Tom
Man you showed me something with that oven cleaner
Great
So if I use spray paint cans I don’t have to mask off my car because it just got a new paint job
You shouldn’t because you not gonna have much overspray
@@SprayWayCustoms Thank you for the reply back
cheaper than brembo brakes with the same look awesome 👌 job
Thanks 🙏
This is not a good way to do this. Rotors amd calipers get really hot. You need a higj heat paint. Supposed to get the parts hot, then paint them, then bake the paint on. Regular/non high heat paint will fail. Also you dont want to grt regular paint on the braking/pad surface. It gums up the pads and burns. Theres special paint you can hit the rotors with that can get a little bit on the brakin/pad surface that will not harm it. But ya this regular paint and doing it this way is not right. High heat paint is needed, preheat, paint, bake one. Recoat, bake again. For the calipers. Can do it for the rotors too, but mask of the bbraking surface to not contaminate the pads, unles ls you use the silver touch up stuff deslership use. Wish i could remember the name, but even that stuff you dont want to thick cover the pad surface/braking surface
The driver's front wheel is mounted on the wrong side.
I know 😂😂I was waiting to see how many folks noticed it. I realized the rotation was wrong as well
Always coming through with another great video 💯💯 #SparyWayCstoms
Thanks for watching and staying tuned in
Sprayway check your email. Trying to get my headliner did.
Ok then 👍
@@SprayWayCustoms let me know if you received it.
Where in Alabama is your shop located man
Decatur
Whenever I touch up my calipers I need to do the same with my rotors
Sounds like a winner. I appreciate the long time support fam
@@SprayWayCustoms 💯💯 always man. Keep doing what u do bruh
Excellent job. They look really nice. I'm doing mine now.
That was out standing sprayway looks really nice thanks for the video
Thanks Anthony
You painted your lower control arm a little bit
Yes...probably some more things as well
Now that sit that car off 🥶
Thanks Brandon
They you should never paint your rotors
Some rotors come painted from the factory like Wilwood
Wow! Those calipers look exceptionally beautiful! How are the coatings on them - and the rotors - holding up under the heating effects of braking after this time?
Thanks again Mike
No. It doesnt last, and it contaminants the pad material cause its cover the contact/surface area
And like you said w the heat
It doesnt last. High heat paint is needed. Heat the parts, paint it, bake the parts. Cover pad surface area of it fills the pads porus material and glazes them after it backs in
This vid is a bad way to do it
It's pointless to spray the rotors where the pads make contact. It would probably make braking dangerous till the pad rubbed it off....no hate, I just work on cars. Finished product looks great!
Why is that? My brand new Wilwood Rotors have paint on them. The paint comes right off after braking.
@@SprayWayCustoms I believe they electro Coat their rotors.... I could be wrong. I personally would just paint the center and save paint n time. I'm not saying I'm right it's just a opinion like the rest of these assholes 😂. I just want the pad to make contact with the rotor and nothing else . Great video I've never tried oven cleaner to remove grease that's a great trick
@@SprayWayCustomsthats a polymer coating made for it. Much different than regular paint. Regular paint gums up and glazes the pads once it burns in the pores reducing your stopping power, distance, and pad life. The paint on the calipers will eventually start coming off from heat unless you use high heat paint, heat the parts, paint it, then bake it. Then its almost like powdercoating.
Nice Job
Thanks
great job
Thanks
I wish I could show you what you just teaches me I have a benz I painted hub on rotors gray no more rust looking shit and my calipers that is green with back of pad gray as well took all apart .. I all so had lil spade stickers right size 3 on each .. THANK YOU ... really made my car look new again 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Your the man .🍻🪶
Thanks for all the support
Finally 🔥🔥
Thanks 🙏
Hopefully, spray painting the actual Rotor “WAS A JOKE”?
( The Paint, would actually Clog / Burn into the Brake Pads. Which would also cause Glassing. )
Should have just taken the Caliper up, and painted it. And just mask off the actual braking part, of the rotor. And just paint, the inner part of the rotor. While on the bench.
( Rather be Safe, than Sorry!
It haven’t done it yet and I drive the car daily 🤷🏾♂️
Not even interested in the least to learn how to paint but keep finding myself watching your videos. LOL It's like they're addictive or something. Got a question though I have a 1970 Chevelle hardtop in the process of being restored looking to do a red base coat clear coat with white stripes what colors do you recommend the brighter the better meaning the best paint brand and name of that red and white paint. My UA-cam cover photo is the color I'm going for.
I use UreChem products. They have a bright red
Huge fan and i say this with all the respect in the world, you NEVER EVER paint brake rotors contact surface, your gonna get some one killed!
Thanks man
Bro,is there anything you can't do,In my Big Red voice from the five heartbeats lol, amazing as always keep up the good work 👏 👍 👌 💪 🙌
😂😂thanks Wardell
Looks awesome, I want to paint mine red, yellow is under consideration, and I'm gonna buy black Rims it's gonna be lit!
Yes indeed…that yellow will look good behind the black
Hi, how do these look after braking on them?
Looks great
I painted my hubs also and got a telling off from my tyre guy as he said I will get vibration as there is paint on the face of the hub where the alloys meets. He’s right.
👍🏾
Thanks Jimmy
Nice work as always. However, it's a shame they spent all that money on nice wheels, but didn't get some cross drilled rotors to really set the whole package off. And, did anyone else notice that near the end of the video, that the left front tire is mounted so that it's rotating in the wrong direction. (Or that it should have been on the right front.) Just a detail I noticed... Great quality work though!
Lol...yea I noticed that as well that the rotation was wrong
That spray paint might glaze your pads out. Let it dry and use some laquer thinner to clean the brake pad contact on the rotor.
This was done about a year ago and it’s currently my daily driver
I wanna do this to my ride. But I've heard that I can't use regular paint and it must be high temp paint because the rotors and calipers get very hot. Please let me know if all is well after this man
I use regular automotive paint and this was done about a year ago and it still looks like the day I painted it
🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate you
Please what is the name of the chemical you sprayed on it first
Oven Cleaner
Ok thanks
l am a sprayer in Africa Ghana, where exactly do you live
I been wanting to paint mine yellow for the longest !! Good looking on the vid OG.. what size air compressor do you have ?
Thanks....I have a 60 gallon
Isn't the paint on the rotors just going to wear off when you step on the brakes?
Yes he said it would in the video.
Yes it will in a couple of stops it’ll be completely gone
@@SprayWayCustoms so it doesn't really make sense to paint the rotors and you can save yourself the work 😂
She so sweet my friend.
Thanks Keith
Paint them YELLOW
👌
That Beemer coupe looks great👍 You did everything the same way I did mine, for exception of I didn't use a spray gun. I used aluminum foil to mask off the calipers, it molds right to it🤣🤣 Great job bro!! 👏👏👏
Thanks a lot man
Very nice
Thanks Rob
just grabbed a set of junkyard blazer brakes & came to see the master at work...

Good job, I ll stick wit the easier for me spray cans was always bout gettn that paint on the rotors thanks fa the video👍

Excellent work, they look absolutely amazing 🇬🇧👍 well done
Thanks Andrew
So getting paint on the rotor surface doesn't cause any issues with stopping?
No, the pads will clean it right off after a couple stops
👍🏾👍🏾
Appreciate you
God effort but don't spray the pad contact area
It will bed in to your pads and affect braking. Why didn't you simply mask it up like the rest.
I haven’t had a problem with braking and it’s been over a year
👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks
