I remember back in 1978 being in my mom and dads caravan, and the sound of the old paraffin tiley lamp going at night as we had no electricity in the caravan, as soon as I hear that sound it reminds me of those happy childhood days. Simple days with no worries 😌
He does seem to have a lot of gadgets… which is solid, don’t get me wrong. This is only my second video I’ve watched. The best things I have taken away so far: 1)Silence is waaaaay under appreciated, 2) I’m loving the editing and how I feel like I could actually do this, 3) I am having a renewed faith in humanity seeing soooooo many “translate” buttons in the comments. So many countries, so many different peoples, but only one humanity…. This is just amazing!!! 4) I feel like I’m part of a club
I would pay big money to have this experience and lessons learned by you. It would charge my batteries for many years to come. You bring peace to my mind.
I also like the sound of the wood hitting the frozen ground. It’s all so much better hearing these sounds when you want to not so much when you have to.

you get surprisingly warm working, sawing, etc...and knowing moisture in your clothing is your enemy in cold temps...it’s the smart thing to do to keep dry.
I have lived in the mountains for 44 years. 16 years ago we bought our first house with an actual heater! (Before that, all our houses were heated with wood, ie. fireplaces and wood stoves.) I must say, I loooove having a heater and haven’t built a fire since we moved here!! I certainly don’t miss the mess from wood heat!!
Watching this video like I did in a 65 degree bedroom with the lights out and a fan blowing on you at the high setting while you are snuggled up under the blankets gives you a whole different experience with which to enjoy this video.

That’s how I sleep. 60 or so in the winter, 65 in the summer. Cold weather camping really doesn’t bother me too bad, though I’ve never camped below about 20F (around -7 C). I’m sure that’s a whole different thing. Not in a hot tent!

Oddly satisfying to watch this. There was a time I could have enjoyed doing this. LOL. I knew how to build a fire, but not how to use a hatchet. Would have liked learning how to do all this when I was young. UA-cams like this can inspire young’ns to learn new skills.
