I lightly disagree, I think it was important for Great Dark Beyond to be released as the last expansion of the year. For one to show initiative from the Devs, I do believe the Devs as well realise how further hearthstone has strayed from what it originally was and GDB shows they kinda wanna bring things back. For second it might seem counter intuitive but I do believe this sense of frustration of not being able to play with the cool new cards is a necessary evil that WILL cash back in tenfold after rotation. We're gonna lose a LOT if not ALL the most annoying, infuriating, frustrating and obnoxious cards to face we've ever seen, so much so I firmly believe the post rotation meta will feel like whiplash how refreshing it'll be! But for that feeling to really hit it's necessary to release lower power sets before rotation and so far Whizbang, Perils and Dark Beyond all we're that strong compared to Festival, Titans and Badlands, We just feel the difference more cause Dark beyond was much much more board building focused and since RN board states don't matter we can see the issue more obviously.
My idea is that this expansion was planned for 2025 (after reno), but with the 30 years they wanted to do heroes of starcraft and change it to late 2024
All i hear is whining that they lowered the power lvl after people have been whining that everything is too strong. Id be happy not to die turn 5 every game.

A starship by itself doesn't have to be a win condition. You can use it that way or you can use it as defensive tool or as a stall mechanic before you set up your real wincon.
@@andriy_tatorealistically that just means the armor starship at 2 if you need to slow aggro, any aggro deck wont be using 5 mana to play a big minion and do nothing else.
I'm "stuck" at diamond 1-5 and loving this expansion. I think that maybe the content creators are stuck at legend with their fellow Spikes and that is the problem. Do people on other brackets other than legend have problems trying new decks?
If they make the next expansion the same power level as Dark Beyond the rotation will be a complete reset. I'm hoping for it. Meanwhile I will play Eudora starship rogue at 6k.
Dark Beyond is honestly great, first expansion in roughly year that hasn't made me want to uninstall the game. The problems with it come from how hard they've facked the meta 6 ways to Sunday with ABHORRENT powercreep.
I feel like as the years go by, Hearthstone is becoming less likely to create balanced mechanics. Since it’s a lucrative industry, they need to make more and more money, so they’d rather design overpowered cards without much thought to balance than take the time to fine-tune the game.
I came back to Hearthstone after 7 years of not playing, at first I didn't worry about ranking and focused on grinding cards. Big spell mage was fun, didn't have all the cards, games took longer to win in low ranks. Now that I have all the cards for Big spell mage, the game feels like a slot machine, if I get lucky and draw my I WIN CARDS before my opponent draws their I WIN CARDS I win, if not they win because of the casino RNG luck of the draw. Lower rank was more fun, feels like it took some strategy.
off after 10 min you did not mention anything they did right beside the flavor of the expansion. T5 has. ot an easy job,and I think they doing the best they can.
the ability of the hs team right now is to make one card that defines the meta Before this, there was Renathal, before him it was Denathrius....also the new Zilliax for a while....
"Problem" with this new expasion its takes more turn than 5 or 6 to get good, but meta is turn 4 to win kek (Hs need a battle mod where we have 60 or 100 hp kek)
Seems like the dev team avoids ways for players to affect the opponent's hand and deck. Those tools/tech cards keep the meta honest. I turn to aggro to get legend quick so I can play my crappy home brews and lower my MMR.
I don’t think they understand the compounding effects when they print these. You can gain 3 mana for 6 but you can be at 6 on turn 4 or even earlier. Druids at 10+ mana by turn 5 half the time I play them
Agree with many of points in this video, I think the statement you are saying that buffs are not needed is correct, I remember they buffed Conman and it became such a frustrating card to play against.
I play a buttons Dk right now and for me personally I don’t know what to do about these armor gain decks. I have had many games where I have done close to a hundred damage to my opponent and I just run out of steam. It feels like all starships have done is add this stall game.
So decks are either too slow that they get run down by agro, or not fast enough to deal with the excessive health and armor gain control decks get. As someone who enjoys midrange/tempo decks, this expansion kind of blows. Especially since starships looked like they supported that style with the hunter/Dk ones.
Things are always darkest, right before rotation. Course, that’s not till next spring. I hope that Bliz both nerfs a few old cards, (Reno should NOT wipe Starships entirely), and buffs some of the new ones, like The Exodar. There’s no good reason why he couldn’t be 7 mana, imo…and/or Rush.

I removed the game and took a small break until something huge will happen by the same reason, no fun, same decks the entire year. I commented once on your Stream that Reno and Titans on the same galaxy as Starships don't have room together i was reffering to the frustrating mechanic where you build your ship and get wiped, just gone with no possibility of taking it back, resurrect or do something to interact with that Reno or Priest Titan mechanic. I wish like big board would matter and new card would be way more effective but until they fix the 3 playstyle that you wonderfuly describe, is hard.
Just print less cards with direct face damage or make cards like this so mana inefficient that using them for removal kills the tempo of their game. It wont solve all the problems in the game but I bet that would make the game more board centric.
This shouldn't had been the last expansion of the year, specially so close to such a powerfull one as Titans, that's why it feels like shite, hopefully the mini set and the balance changes arrenge the rythm of the game enough for it to not feel boring as it currently feels.
Do people not realise that they will be come better when the rotation happens. Same shit. They design a weak set that becomes impactful after rotation. Decks are always most powerful just before rotation
Ok so the cards Clark is highlighting are some of the cards that need to be hit. The rogue cards sea shill and conman need to be hit. Elemental mage needs to be hit. If this expansion is going to be impactful there need to be mass nerfs like Zeddy wants without buffing
I was a little scared at the beginning of the video as I feared you'd be one of the advocates for buffs but I'm so glad you dismantled my worries almost Immediately. I completely agree, Great Dark Beyond might be one of the most fun expansions to release in a while but is being dragged down by one of the most broken hearthstone years we've ever seen! Unfortunately I personally lost hope for this cycle and I'm just waiting for rotation to happen because I don't see blizzard mass nerfing basically half the previous year card pool just a few months before rotation... Because that's what we'll need for this expansion to be playable currently, but I have the feeling the devs bit the same bullet... I have the feeling from the way Dark Beyond has been managed so far it was their plan from the very start... I think they knew Dark Beyond would shine only after rotation and I SINCERELY hope they stick to this plan if that was the case... I'm having a moderate amount of.... let's call it "fun"... with a control BBU Starship DK But is mostly endurance until rotation happens since the pre-release Brawl showed me how FUN this game can actually be or better said it reminded me of how FUN hearthstone can be
I think zilliax is the worst card ever. You just have a 4/6 everything that kill everything, that reincarnate, that can be revived. Or a 6/5 that make you go full life. Sorry but when the enemy play the virus zilliax I just want to rage quit the game because I know it will clear my board life steal and I can’t do anything if I don’t have Reska
Tried playing Drae Priest at diamond 5. Faced 5 elemental mages in a row. Then I just quite. Lamplighter is the problem. Just need to make it not go face. Problem gone.
Blizzard is to busy paying the signatures cards artists to get more money from the whales. They don’t have any budget left to pay ppl to actually think on balance of the game.
I’ll still say Reno is probably one of the only things keeping this meta playable for me. It’s going to feel really bad when everyone is gaining 10 billion armor with starships every game after Reno is gone. You can hate Reno all you want but he’s one of the only things keeping the horrors at bay. They also didn’t change Reno to make it stronger, they changed it to make it weaker because people were running Highlander cards in decks with duplicates just because they could, Reno was in almost every single deck before the Highlander rewording, you would be seeing Reno and plagues 10 times more often if it worked the old way. One of those things is significantly less fun to play against every single game (plagues), so all in all it’s for the best. You can argue Reno is a poorly designed card and just a bandaid fix, but I’d rather have the bandaid than just a gaping wound. You also just get to play more fun cards in Reno decks that are good but typically don’t see play without Reno, Renathal, or the ETC extending your deck size.
What needs to happen is not buffs or nerfs just rotate 3 sets. The problem is that this is the first set that was balanced. Everyone has to go to previous to make everything work. Standard should be like magic anyways and rotate after 3 for a block!! For real think about it and balance from there! Seriously!!
The power creep and design ethos from the last couple expansions have really painted the game into a corner. Stupid high-roll cards, big blowout turn the corner cards like reno, and "for the rest of the game" card effects, lazy overpowered cheat out 0 mana cards.
Always complaining...you have thousand cards man . What do you want? I like to Play Gwent sometimes . Game have no support about a two years now. Do poeople play same cards two years ,snd is still fun. Even when Gwent was alive , IT was no expansions every few months. Poeople needs new things all the time...its so stupid.

Need to tone down the removal holy shit why does every class need access to something like Reno or yogg
You still have 4 months before rotation happens. You can't leave the game in a broken state for this long.
Ok so the cards Clark is highlighting are some of the cards that need to be hit. The rogue cards sea shill and conman need to be hit. Elemental mage needs to be hit. If this expansion is going to be impactful there need to be mass nerfs like Zeddy wants without buffing
Please nerf funnel cakes 🙏
25:58 PREACH warriors been shit for a disgusting amount of time. They HATE control decks
Ship card should be meca
No, it's an alien technology that is also magic based. Honestly, starships are mostly fine the way they are. It's just the meta is hostile to them.
nah big spell mage with rune wasn't fine either. I absolutely hated playing against this trash just as much as current big spell mage
the web page don't even list the rogue titan lol. Bloody useless
Tried playing Drae Priest at diamond 5. Faced 5 elemental mages in a row. Then I just quite. Lamplighter is the problem. Just need to make it not go face. Problem gone.
They should rotate a set out every time one comes in instead of waiting for a whole year. This way there is a constant rotation happening.
Blizzard is to busy paying the signatures cards artists to get more money from the whales. They don’t have any budget left to pay ppl to actually think on balance of the game.
You are just Reno hater. Its very your opinion! But, you can have it :D
Please get rid of Reno!!
Boo hoo
What needs to happen is not buffs or nerfs just rotate 3 sets. The problem is that this is the first set that was balanced. Everyone has to go to previous to make everything work. Standard should be like magic anyways and rotate after 3 for a block!! For real think about it and balance from there! Seriously!!
Stop talking
The power creep and design ethos from the last couple expansions have really painted the game into a corner. Stupid high-roll cards, big blowout turn the corner cards like reno, and "for the rest of the game" card effects, lazy overpowered cheat out 0 mana cards.
This is worse than stormwind
Always complaining...you have thousand cards man . What do you want? I like to Play Gwent sometimes . Game have no support about a two years now. Do poeople play same cards two years ,snd is still fun. Even when Gwent was alive , IT was no expansions every few months. Poeople needs new things all the time...its so stupid.
????
gwent is more in line with chess than it does a card game. And its also in maintenance mode.
