George Harrison discovered Ray's tune, titled “I've Got My Mind Set on You,” on his first trip to the US in September 1963.
This was the last song by a solo Beatle to hit #1 in the US. Harrison was also the first Beatle to hit #1- "My Sweet Lord."
"Got My Mind Set on You" was one of the numbers that Harrison revived on his final tour in 1991, as heard on 1992's double-disc Live in Japan.
