Disagree heavily that these versions of these heros are going to remain mechanically unique. Between the backlash from the Walking Dead secret lair and the fact that the coming Marvel sets are the only time they can easily cash in on that reprint equity I'm expecting them to be reprinted.
I like how Captain America is really just your average Boros commander with ability to play blue, though they didn't give you anything else with blue. I think a "Shield Counterstrike" as a counterspell of some kind would've really sold me on the blue in his identity. Edit: I know he's "Team America" and always expected Jeskai. I just wasn't sure his abilities would be exclusively Boros. Give us a shield counter when he enters to sell the blue even...
Captain America and his shield might be the best synergy I've seen in a while lol I also really like the wolverine cards. I'm probably going to build decks of both.
I do like how they included some amazing cards for the build. Berserk will be great in Wolverine, because you can regenerate him so it doesn't kill him. Manamorphose in Storm will be amazing to storm with because it either helps enable your storming or it would be excellent to use her ability and storm for 10 mana and 5 cards drawn or whatever your storm count is.
Know people out there hate this sort of thing in Magic but it’s getting some of my friends who didn’t play to play now even if just commander. Been playing Magic for 20+ years.
Storm: Hit opponent, cast Eldritch Evolution sacrificing Storm, get minimum of two copies bringing creatures straight into play. Or storming Jaska's Will. Or Intuition. Silly silly stuff. Psyched to build around her for cEDH!
Storm and Iron Man are my favorites so far, but I’ll most likely end up getting them all. I hope the second release is villains. I wanna play Dr. Doom, Ultron, or Carnage.

Casual player here :) Can't use them in Tournaments anyway and even if you could, I never gone to one and probably never will :) Wolverine (my fav from all Marvel) and my take... - the Regen is cool, should have been 0 cost and and the other abilities.. they could have done WAY better, like maybe - "damage made by Wolverine ignores indestructibility" (claws); - "Ward 2 vs. spells and abilities that targets Wolverine" (keen senses) or - "whenever Wolverine deals damage to a player, draw a card (or that many cards) (as per Keen/Sixth Sense enchantment cards) - back to Regenerate, "every time Wolverine regenerates, put a +1/+1 counter on it"
I love the design of the storm card...that said, I hate that it's not on an in universe card and that it will be extremely expensive since these will be bought up by scalpers immediately. This secret lair should be print to order.
Just got a Secret Lair survey to fill out the other day. I told them I'm not buying any more of them until they go back to print to demand (and remove the Commander ban list) You have a choice here everyone. Being a public company means they have to listen when you vote with your wallet.

These face commanders will likely be different from their main set versions, which will be something like… Captain America, Avenging Stratagist Iron Man, Avenging Artificer Wolverine, Savage X-Man Black Panther, Avenging Spiritual Ally Storm, Elementally Fierce X-Man

I was expecting the Extra Life Secret Lair to have a massive printing until I saw this announcement. I think people are going to direct their money to this set... Also I'm actually surprised people aren't really upset by the combination of Mechanically Unique and Limited Print Run being put together on these.
I haven’t picked up a Secret Lair in years, and I’m not super into the Universes Beyond stuff, but this might be something I pick up as a big comic book fan. I got the Timy Wimy Doctor Who deck as a collectible, and I’m probably going to do the same with these for the same reason.
This will sell out in an hour and the scalpers will make a lot of money. I'm not a fan of marvel so I'm not interested, but I'm happy for each marvel fan who will be able to get a copy of their favorite superhero. Hope they add such good cards in future drops too.
While the Arcane Signet is awesome, there was another that actually looked like the Infinity Gauntlet pretty recently. Might have been a Magicfest promo, and there were a few variants of it, and base copies of that art are like $5
I can't believe y'all didn't mention that Captain America's colors are the same as the American flag. I mean MTG's white is more of a yellow color, but it's still called white.
So if the big bundle is 500, and the individuals are 40/50, can we buy 10 of each item AND bundle, cuz that would be 5K just on the big bundles. I honestly will be spending as much as they let me spend on this.

- Captain America, Jeskai is perfect because it is Boros and Azorius. - Wolverine being Gruul is good but I almost wonder if Jund would've been better considering that he has never had an issue with killing. - Storm as Temur is a very cool concept, she is nature but is a ruler also so the Blue fits in - Iron Man as Izzet is perfect These Secret Lairs seem like a home run ;p

I hate UB in general. Didn't buy any LotR, Doctor Who, Warhammer or AC, and I won't engage with Marvel or Final Fantasy. Maybe they will have great "value/price", but truly I don't care. I'm Just waiting for Lorwyn to buy sealed product again and the ocasional SLD because I like the art.

I enjoy your videos and some are informative and have useful insight, but you always seem to be falling into FOMO. You might be right about these being desirable for lots of people but telling people to go buy them like the sky is falling is the reason people rush into things and end up spending more than needed thinking they NEED this specific versions of the cards. We all know magic is an addiction for most people,so perhaps hyping things a little less would be positive for the players and the community as a whole.
I’m out, Magic the Weiss is just to much, this game is for the 12 month turnover player, not for enfranchised players, just buy listed about 10k over the past two weeks.. this is yuck

I think I am going to basically just stick to 60 card formats like I did 15 years ago.
Tbh, iron man is the only one im actually interested in getting, but they are all awesome.
